Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Traveling Through Time

"Ah…"

Suddenly, Lin Li sprang up from the hospital bed, gasping for breath, drenched in sweat.

His eyes revealed fear.

This was too terrifying.

Just a moment ago, he was wearing a suit, holding a bouquet of eleven roses, their petals vibrant, and with the diamond ring he had saved for three years to buy, he was about to propose to his girlfriend of two years.

He thought she would definitely say yes, because they were so well-matched, so deeply in love, so in sync, their affection unwavering for two years, there was no reason not to continue together, to build their family, to live together for a lifetime, with family as their foundation.

He thought happily.

Suddenly, the sky darkened.

Countless lightning snakes crackled and whipped through the sky, vast and boundless dark clouds, with black and silver energy orbs swirling in chaotic winds.

A fierce wind suddenly whipped up, silver snakes danced wildly, black clouds covered the sky, a scene of doomsday.

Just a moment ago, it was sunny, and now it was completely overcast; the weather change was too fast, making Lin Li unable to adapt, and he was momentarily stunned.

Just as Lin Li was stunned, a black energy orb flew down and hovered over his head.

Then, a bolt of lightning struck the black energy orb above his head.

It seemed to open a passage, and the energy orb transformed into a vortex.

The supernatural phenomenon stunned him; he had no reaction whatsoever.

Lin Li was sucked into the vortex.

"What's going on? Where am I?"

After waking up, Lin Li asked in surprise and panic, what was going on with that lightning and black orb? He was indeed sucked in, so why was he here now?

This seemed to be a laboratory, with many display screens around, making Lin Li very uneasy. Had he been sliced up for research?

"Oh my god, our Asian boy is awake! Dr. Wells, Caitlin, come to Surgery immediately."

Cisco picked up the intercom and shouted loudly.

A moment later, Lin Li saw a young Caucasian woman and a thin middle-aged man in a wheelchair wearing glasses enter.

The Caucasian woman immediately rushed to Lin Li's side, shining a flashlight into his eyes, speaking in rapid, unintelligible English with a cold expression, while Cisco comforted Lin Li, making him less panicked.

With Cisco's comfort, the panic Lin Li felt about his surroundings gradually subsided.

Although Lin Li couldn't understand their language, he could tell that this didn't seem to be some kind of perverse slicing research; at least, judging by the fact that they hadn't tied him to the bed, they still had some ethics.

"Blood pressure is as high as 190, pulse 280… All indicators are high, far above normal."

After a preliminary examination of Lin Li's body, Caitlin was a little surprised. He was too strong and healthy; did getting struck by lightning turn him into a superman? Thinking of this, as a specialist in bioengineering, she urgently wanted to study Lin Li.

Just as Caitlin wanted to conduct further tests, Lin Li stopped her.

"Does anyone here speak Chinese? Tell me! Where am I now? Why am I here? How long have I been unconscious? Where is my girlfriend?"

Lin Li asked anxiously. Logically, even if it was treatment, it should be in Asia, which is full of people of East Asian descent, not waking up to face several foreigners. He felt something was wrong internally and was very panicked.

"Oh no! It seems I have no destiny with the Asian boy."

Cisco joked; he had originally planned to make an Asian friend.

Caitlin also expressed helplessness, saying she didn't understand.

After the few of them looked at each other.

Dr. Wells maneuvered his wheelchair in front of Lin Li.

"Hello, I am Harrison Wells. You can call me Dr. Wells. What is your name?" He spoke Chinese with a strange accent, but the intelligibility was not a big problem; it was very clear what he meant.

Dr. Wells extended his right hand to Lin Li.

"Lin Li, surname Lin, given name Li."

After Dr. Wells shook his hand, and after his introduction, Lin Li also learned about Cisco and Caitlin.

Dr. Wells then slowly began to speak.

"Lin Li, you have been unconscious for eight months. According to them, you were found in the Central City Police Department's forensics lab."

"What! Eight months?"

Lin Li was startled; eight months was such a long time.

What about his beloved? He was just about to propose; no, no, he had to hurry back now. After eight months apart, that girl would surely be crying her eyes out; she was very clingy to him.

Thinking this, Lin Li directly threw off the white sheet and got out of bed. He had to go back immediately; eight months was too long.

During the eight months he lay in bed, logically, he should at least have muscle flaccidity, atrophy, and weakness, but Lin Li felt his muscles were firm, powerful, and strong, even healthier than before. With a light clench of his fist, immense power erupted, feeling like he could kill a tiger.

A normal person certainly wouldn't be like this, without a hint of weakness, full of energy, strong and robust. He looked down and even found two pectoral muscles and an eight-pack. This was impossible; not to mention the pectorals, he had a small potbelly before he fell unconscious. Could being in a coma have a fitness effect?

Was he modified?

Lin Li's expression was strange, recalling some unpleasant sci-fi movies.

Dr. Wells ignored Lin Li and continued.

"That day, the particle accelerator… then exploded, forming a storm. Unfortunately, lightning struck you and Barry Allen, and then you were sent to the hospital. Later, due to hospital misdiagnosis and power failures, I brought you and Barry Allen to Star Labs."

"The particle accelerator exploded!"

"Barry Allen!"

Lin Li's head vibrated with a 'buzz,' and the events and this name made him disbelieving.

He had been so flustered earlier that he hadn't paid much attention to the names and appearances of the others. Now, looking closely, he actually recognized and was very familiar with everyone here.

One or two people having the same name was possible, but everyone having the same name, the same appearance, and the setting being Star Labs, plus the main character Barry Allen, this indicated that he had transmigrated!

On his way to propose, he had just finished watching the newly released Season 3, Episode 13, 'Gorilla City,' which was February 22, 2017.

Barry Allen, The Flash.

Could it be that the vortex sucked him into The Flash's world?

He hadn't noticed the entire environment due to his earlier panic, but after Dr. Wells's words, Lin Li discovered that three meters away from him, there was another bed, and the person on that hospital bed with a respirator was the future The Flash.

He stared blankly at Barry Allen.

An excitement surged within him. Anyone who had watched The Flash couldn't help but crave that ultimate, exhilarating Speed, transcending everything, speed that defied physics, speed beyond light, even capable of running into the past, creating an alternate timeline for the world.

The Speed Force.

The fifth force, independent of the four fundamental forces.

To possess such great power was simply to exist like a god.

Having the opportunity to master such power couldn't help but excite him.

After a brief period of excitement.

A wave of sadness came over him. Coming to this supernatural world was certainly exciting, but when he thought of his beloved in that other world, he felt a bitter taste in his mouth.

It wasn't a time distance of eight months, but a distance of a world, a universe, a spacetime.

It was possible that he would never be able to return.
