In the morning, Caitlin first took Lin Li's urine and stool samples for examination.
Lin Li lay on the hospital bed, holding a tablet and absorbing knowledge. Just now, he had asked Cisco for several sets of textbooks on space, black holes, the human body, and electricity, ranging from simple to complex. Cisco, of course, expressed his surprise that Lin Li had learned English so quickly.
He couldn't just pin his hopes on Professor Wells or Vibe; he also had to learn about space himself to increase his chances of returning home.
"Hey, Blackout, put down the tablet. We're going to check your brain."
Cisco was a very easy person to befriend. Just now, he had tirelessly asked Lin Li countless questions about Earth. After Lin Li expressed his annoyance, they became good friends.
"What? Blackout? Me?"
Lin Li pointed to himself, unable to believe that his title in this world would be 'Blackout.' It felt like he was opposing The Flash, cutting off his power...
"No, no, no, Cisco, I won't accept this strange title."
Cisco was very unwilling. The person involved wouldn't accept the name he had thought of all night. He was displeased and started thinking of a few more names.
"This is a name I thought of all night. How about Thunderbolt...?"
Lin Li gave him a look that said, 'Are you messing with me?'
Cisco cautiously said, "Flash?"
"OK, that one."
Lin Li indicated that this was acceptable. He wasn't worried about stealing Barry's title of The Flash, because he had no intention of going out and being a hero.
Cisco was satisfied: "Good, Flash, this is so exciting. I can't believe I'm making friends with someone from another world. This feels great."
"Me too."
Lin Li said with a smile, "You'll have more friends from other worlds soon."
With Caitlin returning after the urine test, they officially began the brain examination. Dr. Wells, of course, watched silently from the side, his eyes only flickering when 'Flash' was mentioned.
They successively completed examinations such as MRI, PET, CT, EEG, and cranial MRI.
Cisco exclaimed in surprise, "Why? My friend from another world, you don't have a brain?"
The instrument screen showed a completely black outline of a brain, with no normal display of brain gyri and sulci.
"This isn't normal."
Caitlin initially thought it was an instrument problem, but after testing it on Cisco and finding no issues, she temporarily concluded:
"People from another world have black brains."
"How is that possible?" Lin Li rolled his eyes.
"Caitlin, check for energy signals," Dr. Wells suggested. "This transmigrator is very interesting."
Soon after, Caitlin detected: "Dr. Wells, Lin Li's brain does show an energy wavelength, a signal distinct from his inherent brainwaves."
Dr. Wells squinted, looking at the spectrum. He suspected Lin Li had gained the Speed Force. Part of this spectral wavelength was extremely similar to the Speed Force. Dr. Wells had a very deep understanding of the Speed Force.
The Speed Force manifests as lightning and has some similarities to electricity. He didn't dare to be completely certain that the Speed Force was within Lin Li.
Ultimately, the few of them didn't discuss why Lin Li's brain was black.
Dr. Wells temporarily put aside this examination.
"Let's check other aspects of his body first..."
Caitlin directly took a needle and aimed it at Lin Li's arm for an injection.
Unintentionally, Lin Li seemed to sense danger. His cells surged, his muscles contracted, and before the needle could even enter a blood vessel, it bent, unable to penetrate.
This surprised the group again.
Caitlin replaced the needle and patted Lin Li's arm.
"Relax, I can't get it in."
Lin Li relaxed his arm. He felt as if he could control the cells within his body, a vague sensation.
After a difficult insertion into the blood vessel, the blood they drew out shocked them again.
The blood in the syringe, like stars, shimmered with a faint silver light, emitting tiny specks of starlight. The entire tube of red liquid was interspersed with silver light, looking very mystical and beautiful.
"Oh my god..."
The group stared at the blood vessel in shock. No matter how they looked at it, this didn't resemble a human.
When the blood left Lin Li's body, he felt the blood in the syringe become restless, eager to return to its source. Lin Li felt a very real sensation of being able to control his cells. He suppressed his feelings, conveying a sense of calm and stillness to the cells, and the cells in the blood vessel truly quieted down, becoming still. The silver light dimmed considerably, yet there was still a feeling inexplicably connecting him to Lin Li.
"I can control the cells within my body," Lin Li realized with a start.
He didn't say any of this out loud. He was too strange, too strangely affected by the lightning strike.
While waiting for the blood test results, they also performed an electrocardiogram, B-scan, color Doppler ultrasound, X-ray, infrared perspective, bone density test, nerve test...
This continued until around 1 PM.
Suddenly, a phantom appeared in Star Labs, stirring up a gust of wind with yellow electrical arcs, scattering paper files everywhere.
"What's happening to me? I ran super fast, and everything around me stood still."
Barry Allen asked, spreading his hands, surprised and puzzled.
In the morning, when Barry woke up, he felt as if the world had stopped. Joe was frozen in the act of drinking coffee, cars outside the window were motionless, birds in the air were still. It was very, very sudden; they didn't move, everything didn't move, which made him very scared.
Then, just as suddenly, everything moved again, returning to normal, which made him even more afraid.
When he tried to save a Garfield cat that had fallen from a tree, he accidentally ran too fast and crashed into the tree. He was surprised, confused, and had gained super speed. All of this was incredibly cool, a speed that surpassed everything.
Finally, he ran to Star Labs, seeking the reason for his changes.
"You're a metahuman too? Super speed? Time stopping?"
Cisco asked. That Barry was a metahuman didn't surprise him; after all, the same lightning bolt struck two people. And there was an even more amazing visitor from another world here.
Caitlin said seriously, "According to human physiological limits, the maximum speed is 9 meters per second."
Barry said nothing, transforming into a phantom, leaving a few yellow electrical arcs, and vanished from sight.
The group looked at each other, all feeling a simultaneous surprise. That speed seemed quite fast, beyond their sight.
Before they could discuss it, the group felt another phantom flash past, and suddenly, an ice cream cone appeared in their hands.
Lin Li had been looking at his tablet, learning everything about black holes and space, studying while being examined all morning.
When Barry arrived, he just watched and didn't speak, but within 3-4 seconds, he felt an ice cream cone appear in his hand. He was a little confused. He didn't know how far away the ice cream shop was, but it certainly wasn't within Star Labs. Star Labs was quite large; it would take an ordinary person seven or eight minutes to find their way out, let alone buy an ice cream cone and come back.
Therefore, Lin Li was a little bewildered. This speed was too fast.
