Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 Testing

"You're also a metahuman, you can generate electricity, and you were pulled here by the particle accelerator explosion, from another world?"

Joe's eyes widened as he asked loudly. This was too crazy. Metahumans were fine; he could accept Barry, but another world, the sci-fi existence of a parallel universe, was something he couldn't accept.

"It seems Barry told you everything. I'm sorry I lied to you just now, but it was all to stay here and find a way home."

Lin Li gave a wry smile and shook his head, arcs of electricity crackling around his hands again.

This made Joe stare, feeling like his eyeballs were about to pop out.

"My God, this is insane."

Joe said, shocked.

"In fact, it's all true. I've named Lin Li 'Lightning.' Don't worry, Barry, you'll get one too once I think of a cooler name."

Cisco said happily, ignoring Barry's helpless expression.

"The most important thing right now is to check their physical safety, not deportation or coming up with titles."

Dr. Wells said.

"Barry, we need to conduct a thorough physical examination for your health."

Dr. Wells looked at Barry, leaving him no room to refuse.

Joe nodded in agreement, saying, "Yes, Barry, you need a detailed examination. I need to process this whole thing about strange people, strange abilities, and strange worlds."

"Lin Li, you need to stay at Star Labs until everything is clear. No wandering around, okay?"

Lin Li nodded, indicating he could stay at Star Labs for now.

That afternoon, Joe and the Star Labs team were continuously testing Barry, while Lin Li quietly stayed on the side, using a tablet to learn everything about black holes, parallel universes, and so on. However, he didn't learn much, as most of it was theoretical or speculative, a bit unrealistic. In the end, Lin Li could only temporarily put it aside and study human physiology. Perhaps he would stay in this world for several years, and at least he needed to understand his own body and abilities, after all, future enemies would include extremely powerful individuals.

At six in the afternoon, Barry's physical examination was also completed.

Everyone turned to Caitlin, who was holding two files containing the test results for Lin Li and Barry.

"Lin Li, it's incredible. The lightning strike turned you into a Superman. Your cells have undergone unprecedented mutation. The cell nucleus contains a main nucleus and two other nuclei, like electrons. These two nuclei act like positive and negative electrons, moving around the cell and strengthening it. When these two positive and negative electron nuclei rapidly orbit the main nucleus, we have reason to believe it generates an electric current, which in turn strengthens your body, making all your bodily functions at least seven times stronger than the human limit."

Cisco joked, "Hey, buddy, you shouldn't be called Lightning; you should be called 'Superman Generator.'"

Lin Li frowned, clenching his fists and saying, "But I feel that my current strength is only slightly greater than the average human limit, not as powerful as you say. I do feel like I can generate electricity."

"That's because, Lin Li, you weren't full yesterday." Dr. Wells raised an eyebrow, referring to Lin Li absorbing electricity.

Lin Li nodded, largely agreeing. He had felt a bit hungry all along but hadn't paid much attention.

"I don't need to absorb electricity; I just need a large amount of food calories for energy. When my body is full, the cells will convert it into electrical energy, thereby emitting lightning."

Caitlin put down Lin Li's file, opened Barry's examination file, and continued, "Barry Allen, ... your physical strength is at the limit of an ordinary person, possessing extremely fast cell division and metabolism, and a very strong immune system. When you move at an extremely fast speed, an unknown energy protects you, allowing you to achieve speeds thousands, tens of thousands, or even hundreds of millions of times faster than humans, it's hard to say."

"For now, both of you are in very healthy condition. Another thing worth mentioning is that when you use your abilities, you will consume a large amount of energy from your body. Conservatively estimated, you will need to supplement approximately 10,000 calories daily on average, especially Lin Li. Once you deplete the electrical energy stored in your body, you will need even more calories to recover."

Hearing that at least they were healthy, Joe also felt a little relieved. Regardless of superpowers, a person's health is the most important thing; this was the hope of a father.

"From now on, you'll be a big eater."

Joe smiled and playfully punched Barry. It was good that his body had no problems.

Dr. Wells clapped his hands, summarizing, "For now, your physical condition is fine, but we still need to pay attention in the future. Tomorrow, we'll test your abilities. That's all for today."

Everyone nodded and began packing up their things.

Barry called out to everyone, "Hey everyone, how about we go grab some coffee? I know a great place."

Barry looked at Cisco, who quickly said, "That's a great idea, but it'll have to be next time. I need to tinker with some stuff tonight."

Barry turned to Caitlin, who said with a cold face, "I'm not interested."

Before Barry could look at him, Dr. Wells said, "I still need to prepare for tomorrow's tests."

Finally, Barry looked at Lin Li.

Lin Li was a bit surprised to be invited. This was an opportunity to experience foreign culture, and Lin Li was certainly willing.

He smiled and said, "Of course I'm willing, and I'd like to experience foreign culture. But Joe, what do you think?"

Joe pondered for a moment and said, "Today I've seen these metahuman existences, but I still can't accept that you're from another world. However, I can temporarily trust you. Barry, don't come home too late." Finally, he admonished Barry, which was an allowance for the two to go for coffee.

Barry and Lin Li exchanged smiles. Because of the Speed Force in Lin Li's head, Barry felt an unusual sense of closeness to Lin Li.

Outside Star Labs, Joe left first because he had matters to attend to at the police station.

Barry and Lin Li walked leisurely under the setting sun.

The sun was setting, the clouds were red, the streets were clean, and the shadows of the trees stretched far.

The environment was comfortable, quiet, and spacious, making one feel refreshed and happy.

Facing his newly acquainted friend, Barry felt a little uneasy.

Lin Li, who had been observing the scenery, noticed and apologized, "I've been so focused on the scenery. It's beautiful here. I neglected you, Barry. Relax, we'll be good friends who can talk about anything."

Barry shrugged, "Yes... yes, I think so too."

Lin Li burst out laughing heartily, "Barry, just so you know, you're paying for the coffee, and I'll need to order some food to fill my stomach. I didn't bring any money from another world."

By this point, Barry was no longer restrained and said happily, "Of course! Lin Li, Jitters is over ten kilometers from here. Let's get there quickly."

With that, Barry put his arm around Lin Li's waist, transformed into a yellow blur, and disappeared with Lin Li from sight.
