Chapter 65 - Chapter 64 Message

Following this, Wells and Lin Li discussed a great deal of related knowledge.

Finally, Lin Li, with an unusually serious expression, said to Wells: "Doctor Wells, I truly need to go back."

Wells calmly replied: "I know, I will help you."

With that, the two parted ways, and Lin Li took the USB to review the data.

Wells, meanwhile, was lost in thought in the control room hall.

Were Lin Li's final words a plea, or a warning?

A plea? Someone with Lin Li's strong will, who even fought with Barry, would he be pleading with me? Wells didn't believe it.

Then it could only be a warning. Warning about what? Was he threatening to expose my identity? Damn it, do you think you can threaten or control me like this?

Don't I also want to return to the future?

I am also trapped here.

Damn it.

Wells thought coldly.

Intelligent people are often suspicious, with quick minds that overthink things. Once they go down the wrong path, the consequences can be severe. In reality, Lin Li's final words merely expressed that he had the same goal as him: to leave this world and avoid trouble. Yet, Wells interpreted it differently, believing it to be a threat.

Sometimes, Lin Li really wanted to openly explain everything to Wells. If they all worked together to return to their respective worlds, wouldn't that be great?

However, Wells's credibility was truly concerning. Lin Li didn't trust him. After all, a murderer, a villain, and an unpredictable person is very difficult to trust, not to mention Lin Li understood this murderer's past.

The next few days passed peacefully.

Lin Li finished reading the data and also set up a research lab next to Cisco's. He needed to research and create a substance capable of stably balancing energy to construct a wormhole.

Fortunately, he needed a newly born, baby-like singularity, which is a black hole. At that time, Lin Li only needed to synthesize a substance that could support for a very short time before breaking. The exact duration of this 'very short time' was uncertain, but the longer it could last within the black hole, the better. After all, once a black hole forms suction, the entire Earth would be in great danger, sucked into oblivion.

These past few days, he also modified the motorcycle's braking system. As for the magnetic gravity aspect, he still needed to research and modify some parameters before he could truly install it on the Lightning War Cycle. Once installed, it would have a strong magnetic connection to the ground, adhering tightly. This would allow it to potentially break the sound barrier and achieve supersonic speeds, provided, of course, that the rider could withstand the shock caused by the sonic boom.

At Star Labs, everyone had their own research lab. Surgery was Caitlin's domain, Cisco's was the one often seen on TV, and as for Wells, the entire Star Labs belonged to him...

Now, Lin Li also had his own research lab, next to Cisco's.

Of course, his lab was still very basic, with commonly used devices, some small synthesizers, material extractors, and other instruments. In another corner, there was a 140 cm tall transparent tank, like a fish tank for ornamental fish.

The tank was seven-tenths full of highly concentrated electrolyte liquid, an energy liquid, transparent and very dense. This was used to create energy rods, Lin Li's main source of charge, which he had acquired a large tank of from Cisco.

Lin Li used a small knife to cut his wrist artery. Bright red blood, tinged with silver, flowed out, sizzling as it dripped into the energy liquid pool, causing a violent arc reaction.

After releasing about a liter of blood, Lin Li stopped, controlling the blood. His wrist felt itchy and numb, quickly scarring over. In a few more hours, the scar would disappear.

Even with the blood outside his body, Lin Li still felt a strong connection. The information that the departed blood urgently wanted to return to its parent body was transmitted to his brain.

He slightly controlled it, and the blood formed a sphere. He could even control the blood cells that had left his body, though his control weakened with distance.

The blood shimmered with silver light, looking incredibly beautiful. Combined with its inherent electrons, it occasionally triggered arc reactions in the energy liquid, making it appear very fantastical.

Lin Li set up a camera and a magnetic field spectrum testing instrument, then left the blood alone.

He continued to immerse himself in designing the magnetic gravity drive.

Another day passed before everyone gathered again in the control room hall.

Barry was the last to rush in, leaving a phantom trail.

"Sorry, I'm late."

Joe gave him a reproving look and said: "Everyone, it seems our Metahuman target really is Simon Stagg. Our suspicion is likely true. Last night, Simon Stagg's head of security was killed. Forensic samples collected at the scene, after being examined by Barry, were all initial cells, meaning the killer is a Metahuman."

Cisco nodded smugly, saying: "I didn't think I had a talent for detective work. The Metahuman really does want to kill Stagg."

Caitlin exclaimed: "That's an incredible ability! You know, these initial cells can replicate and transform into any cell needed by the body. If we cultivate his cells, wouldn't we be able to create countless human organs? Think how many lives that could save!"

Barry said: "Hey, now is not the time for smugness and admiration. How do I find him and stop him?"

Everyone exchanged glances.

Lin Li said: "We don't need to look."

Wells interjected: "Your meaning?"

"His goal is to kill Stagg. We just need to wait for him to act, then capture him."

Caitlin said: "You mean we should follow Stagg and wait for the Metahuman to appear?"

Lin Li resisted, saying: "I didn't say we should follow him. Following a man isn't a good idea."

Cisco said: "I can set up satellites. If anything happens at Stagg Tower or his residence, we'll be notified."

Barry said: "I'm fast. I can follow him when he's not at home or Stagg Tower, waiting for the Metahuman to appear."

Lin Li hadn't expected a simple suggestion to escalate into everyone having to track and protect Stagg. Honestly, someone like Stagg wasn't worth saving. If anything, Lin Li hoped the Metahuman would kill him.

Lin Li said: "This needs a time limit. We can't keep tracking and protecting him forever."

He didn't want to become a bodyguard for such a person. His duty was only to capture Metahumans.

Joe strongly agreed: "Within 10 days. According to my deduction, the Metahuman most likely interrogated Stagg's head of security about Stagg Tower's security setup. He's most likely to strike at Stagg Tower. At most, he has 3 or 4 days. The longer the time, the security setup of Stagg Tower might change. He might strike in the next few days."

Doctor Wells clapped his hands: "OK, let's get to work. Cisco, you and I will set up the satellites and then build the Metahuman Prison together. Caitlin, keep an eye on the alerts in the control room hall. Lin Li, be ready for battle at any time. Barry, patrol, track, and protect. Joe, you're free to do as you please."

Joe shrugged and said: "I'll go back to the police station and keep an eye out. I'll notify you if I get any information."
