Wells simply translated it for them, astonishing the two.
"Could it be that the particle accelerator exploded, creating an unknown substance, opening a portal to your world, and sucking you in?"
Everyone was shocked and couldn't believe it, because it was too sci-fi, too unscientific.
However, there was still much they didn't know about science, so this situation might be possible; they couldn't be sure.
"You've just woken up, so rest well first. We need to discuss something. Cisco, Caitlin, come with me..."
Dr. Wells humored Lin Li, then gestured for Cisco and Caitlin to leave.
Seeing them walk out, Lin Li also breathed a sigh of relief. He didn't know how to face or respond to the situation, so a buffer of time to clear his thoughts was good.
Calming down, Lin Li focused on his body and discovered that his brain was clearer than ever before, his thoughts extremely active and light, like shedding iron weights, feeling airy as if he wanted to fly.
Memories surged forth in his mind like a flood.
The warm, milky feeling of being born...
The sensation of crawling and taking his first steps...
The panic of being sold at two or three years old...
The loneliness in the orphanage...
The warmth of meeting her...
Every single thing he had done, every item he had touched, every passerby he had met, from childhood to adulthood.
They appeared in his mind with incredible clarity, his life flashing before his eyes like a revolving lantern, and he re-experienced his life.
The rush of memories brought a momentary throbbing pain, like a shaken can of soda filled with gas, but it was instantly clarified by his active mind.
His active and clear mind allowed him to quickly understand himself.
'It seems I gained superpowers from being struck by lightning.'
He pondered for a moment, then looked at his hands, which were cuffed.
With a slight pull, the handcuffs broke in two.
Lin Li twisted the remaining half of the handcuffs with his hand, and it warped and cracked, falling directly to the floor.
Pushing up with both hands, Lin Li sprang up.
The powerful physical strength swept away his gloom, bringing him joy.
'What are my superpowers? Struck by lightning with Barry, I should have gained the Speed Force.'
He thought with a hint of excitement.
The Speed Force.
A force independent of the four fundamental forces.
Unparalleled speed.
Speed beyond the speed of light.
Speed to travel through time.
Calming his excitement, he closed his eyes and calmly sensed himself.
Slowly, he perceived some inexplicable energy in his head, seemingly connected to another end.
His consciousness seemed to turn into a bolt of lightning, and neural information became like an electric current, flowing through his body.
His strong, powerful heart pumped and supplied blood, and as the blood flowed, he saw his internal organs like his heart, liver, spleen, lungs, and kidneys.
His cells seemed to cheer at his inspection, conveying joyful yet hungry information.
His entire body was strong and... hungry!
That's right, he was very hungry.
Every cell in his body was transmitting information of dryness, hunger, and a desire to "eat."
Lin Li opened his eyes, and silver lightning flickered in them.
He raised his hands above his head, and silver arcs erupted from his fingertips. Lin Li felt he could control the electricity in the entire room.
'Crackling.'
Electronics short-circuited and malfunctioned.
The smell of burning emanated.
More than a dozen power cords were scorched.
Countless currents surged above him.
Wild currents wrapped around his fingertips, crackling, entering his body, and being greedily consumed by his cells.
Above the room, a terrifying silver electrical net coalesced, hissing as it flowed towards Lin Li.
---
Cisco and Caitlin followed Dr. Wells out the door, and after confirming Lin Li probably couldn't hear them.
"This is impossible, Dr. Wells. It's highly likely the lightning struck him, causing delusions, and he's not thinking clearly."
Caitlin said. As a bioengineering expert, she leaned towards Lin Li having delusions from the lightning strike.
"Not necessarily. The dark matter from the particle accelerator explosion is beyond our understanding. Causing inter-world travel might not be impossible. How amazing this is, that there's another Earth besides ours."
Cisco was lost in fantasy. What a crazy, great discovery this was, simply unimaginable. As a scientist, to witness such a thing was incredibly fortunate.
"Caitlin, give Lin Li a full check-up. Cisco, perhaps we need to prepare something special for this visitor from another world."
Dr. Wells smiled. He believed Lin Li's words because he himself was no different from Lin Li.
'Bang... bang... bang...'
The continuous sounds from Surgery interrupted their conversation.
"NO~~NO~NO~~NONONONO"
Hearing the sounds, Cisco was the first to run to Surgery, and the scene before his eyes made him scream repeatedly.
The smell of burning.
Sparking electrical appliances.
Currents gathering above the room.
Lin Li, his entire body surrounded by electricity.
All of this shocked his nerves.
"Lin Li, Lin Li..."
Dr. Wells, pushed by Caitlin, rushed over, shouting.
Lin Li heard his name and suddenly woke up. He had only subconsciously wanted to replenish energy, not realizing he would cause electronic equipment to malfunction, currents to rage, and an electrical net to form above the room.
Dr. Wells saw that Lin Li was conscious and quickly gave instructions.
"Cisco, go immediately and cut the power to Surgery. Lin Li, absorb slowly. If you can't absorb it all, guide it underground. Can you do that?"
Cisco, hearing this, immediately ran out to cut the power.
As the power was cut, within 5 seconds, the silver-glowing arcs in the room were immediately absorbed into Lin Li's body.
Once calm, the room was a mess.
"Are you okay?"
Caitlin asked.
Lin Li controlled and reined in the currents in his body, his eyes gradually changing from silver arcs back to normal black pupils.
"OK."
He still understood such simple English.
Dr. Wells said, "What happened to you? Why did you suddenly attract electricity into your body?"
Before Lin Li could answer, Caitlin cried out in alarm.
"Barry Allen!"
Barry's hospital bed area was also in chaos; instruments, respirators, and other equipment had all been torn off just now. His body was twitching and shaking violently, like he was having an epileptic seizure, convulsing on the bed.
"Come help quickly! We need to move him. The instruments here are broken. Damn it, the tranquilizers can't be used either."
Caitlin rushed over and held Barry down.
Just as Barry began to convulse, Lin Li felt a strange energy stirring in his head. This energy seemed to be connected to Barry and kept urging Lin Li to approach Barry.
What's going on? What's in my head? It feels like it keeps wanting me to get close to Barry?
Lin Li approached Barry with surprise and placed his hand on Barry's chest.
The moment his hand touched his chest, a yellow electric arc flashed on Barry's chest.
Barry stopped convulsing and became quiet.
The strange energy in his mind, when he placed his hand on Barry's chest, just flashed like electricity and then also quieted down.
"...Where am I? Who are you? What are you doing with your hand on my chest?"
Barry Allen gasped and suddenly sprang up from the bed.
The Flash had awakened.
