Synopsis
You find yourself as a Frost Demon in the ever-so-dangerous world of DBZ. Unfettered and unbound by human constraints. What would you do? (Yes, it's back!) I've been going through my stories. Some being removed, Some finding more inspiration. I think it's time to attempt A Frost Demon in DBZ again, and I think many of you will enjoy this story once more! It will still have the Selection System. I am not leaning toward the time travel shenanigans this time around, perhaps lean it toward Multiverse-style. Once our Frost Demon grows strong enough, he finds himself in other stories. We'll see!

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Boreas

It's back!

Let's make this the biggest DB fanfic here on the platform! (I can dream alright? T_T)

This is not a translation, this is my own work.

What is...this feeling?

Pssshhh...

A low hissing sound suddenly struck some surroundings, like something had just been sealed up.

Upon a closer look, a sort of laboratory could be seen, hidden and entirely encased by icy crags and stalagmites. No matter where one looked, it was ice, ice, and more ice. Not even more common minerals could be seen. This place was entirely void of them. That is, apart from the tools and equipment found further inside the laboratory. The place seemed to be made of alien technology. A place like this wasn't something one would find on Planet Earth. The tech here was much more advanced.

Overall, this place seemed pretty desolate. On top of that, the gravity here was several times that of Planet Earth, but that didn't bother the indigenous species that lived here. If a normal human were to visit this place, the gravity would become so intense for them that they'd be squished, just like an ant to a boot. Instant. And painful. It wasn't meant for humans. The species who lived here thrived, paying the intense gravity no mind.

It didn't take long for a single consciousness to stir awake. They felt a strange sense of calmness, finding it very cold around them.

'...Where am I?', The consciousness spoke. 'It feels so very cold, but why is it calming me?', The thought persisted. It seemed to belong to that of a male's voice. But to his surprise, he could not open his eyes, nor move around. Feeling like this, it was as if he had just woken up from a very, very long dream. He had no immediate recollection of what happened to him prior to this. Nor did he not know why he could not open his eyes right now.

All he could feel or hear right now was the sound of bubbles exuding from what appeared to be his mouth. A strange liquid floated all around him. Was he submerged in something? Is that why he was feeling so calm right now? He didn't know what this liquid was.

In the near distance, the consciousness could hear faint voices being spoken. He tried to find out where they were. Slowly but surely, he pinpointed a direction, close enough where he could hear them.

"---So this one is the newest spawn of the Frost Clan.", An aged voice said, sounding deep. This voice echoed inside the laboratory, acting as if they had been alive for a very, very long time. This language being spoken appeared to be of alien descent, but for some reason, he could understand it. Just this alone intrigued him. It was a shame he couldn't open his eyes to see who this voice belonged to.

All for a good reason. This guy appeared to be a newborn of an alien race, placed inside a capsule full of the liquid he was presently feeling. This liquid promotes one's growth the moment one is born. A growth serum, essentially. They could feel years of explosive growth in a very short amount of time, allowing them to stand on their own two feet much quicker than relying on one's parents to rear them.

The moment this alien steps outside of this capsule, he would be on his own. No family would be there to protect him. That fleeting concept that is seen throughout Planet Earth was long gone.

That was how these Frost Demons worked. Up till the point where they could create or join a Frost Demon's clan.

The voice who spoke that just now carried an air of dignity. But at the same time, it appeared quite tiresome. A second voice spoke out to the first one, polite and formal.

"It is, My Liege. We've only one new spawn in this batch. It wasn't just us either. Those Cold Force bastards also had one new spawn. They were already well off with one in the previous batch, but now they have one more, while we just have one new. His Majesty is already thinking of stepping down and having his newest spawn, Frieza, take over. I hear Frieza's talent is frightening. Much more than his older spawn, Cooler.", The second voice said with a hint of scorn in their tone. Whatever it was, this voice did not seem to like this other Force much. A Force they called the Cold Force.

The first voice simply sighed, like he had long been defeated.

"I do not know whether this is a blessing, or a curse. The Cold Force continues to flaunt their arrogance; I'm just tired of it all. Perhaps that stupid purple naked cat blowing up half of our planet did some good for us after all. They've been scrambling much more than we have. We've been lying in wait, regrouping. For all I care, they can kill each other off. We've the upper-hand in the waters, they don't.", The dignified voice said, sighing.

"My Liege, you should know better not to address Lord Beerus like that. We do not want a repeat of what happened. Thankfully his caretaker mentioned that Lord Beerus has entered slumber once more. We do not know when he will wake up again. We need to be ready.", The second voice said, more worried this time.

"The damage is done already, so what is the point if Lord Beerus returns? By the time that happens, the Cold Force will likely have killed themselves off. There aren't a lot of us left. It was Cooler the last generation, and now they have a new one this generation, Frieza. All We have on our side is Boreas.", The first voice said, shaking his head, still sounding defeated.

"Even if it's just one new spawn on our side, his talent alone rivals Frieza's. It is shockingly scary how close the two's Battle Power are. They claimed Frieza's power at 530,000 while Boreas here is 500,000. If the two fought, it would be on even ground. I hear the newest spawn is excessively lazy when it comes to training too.", The second voice responded.

"Excessively lazy, eh? That sounds like them. They don't have eyes in the back of their heads to realize just how powerful we Frost Demons can become. They waste too much time with useless transformations that they can't even perfectly maintain at all times. What's the point of that if you have your true strength right at the very beginning? Their arrogance can only carry them so far.", The dignified voice said, shaking their head. "And we've learned to stay out of their way, and remain in the ocean. Or what is left of it, anyway."

Beep. Beep. Beep.

In response to the first voice, the second one raised their arm, and placed a strange-looking device over the little alien floating inside the capsule. The one holding onto this device also appeared to be a Frost Demon, but this individual was a scientist, rather than a power-crazed one. Every so often, his teal-colored tail would swerve around, nervously. As for the first voice, it belonged to the present leader of the Frost Clan. Many battle marks and scars covered his body. Quite built, and mostly packed with muscle. His mind remained wise, but he was tired. Tired of clashing against the Cold Force for decades on end.

This alien was called King Frost. Frost Demon clans often took the name of their leader. King Cold, the Cold Force. King Frost, the Frost Clan. And so on. King Cold's Cold Force was much more barbaric and militaristic in nature, he ruled with an iron fist. As for the Frost Clan, or what remained of it, they lived in secrecy beneath the ocean waters. Unlike the Cold Force, the Frost Clan valued one's strength.

It grew even more chaotic when a certain naked purple cat came crashing down onto their homeworld with the intent to destroy the entirety of the Frost Demons.

Everyone feared this person as the God of Destruction.

And for a good reason.

No one was his equal. In the mortal realm at least. It becomes different if one speaks of Divinity, but that wasn't the case here. King Frost didn't know whether it was through a stroke of luck, but the God of Destruction became lazy, and only blew up half of their planet. They survived, somehow.

And what was left was a single ocean, and a single piece of land. The Frost Clan took to the waters, and the Cold force sought the land, taking it for themselves. Every so often, the two clans would clash, inciting war. During that, the cat fell into a deep slumber once more.

The power-detecting device continued beeping. It didn't stop once it reached one-hundred thousand, nor two-hundred thousand. The scientist sucked in a cold breath of air once the number finished rising.

"A Battle Power born with 500,000...Our future generations are getting pretty ridiculous, aren't they? Even Cooler wasn't born with this much. There aren't even a hundred of us left. While the Cold Force fights for supremacy amongst their own, we'll lurk in the shadows until the time is right for us to strike. The more they finish off of their own, the better. And even then, I fear we may not have much left to live for. Too much destruction wrought our race already...", King Frost said, sighing again.

"Our Frost Clan has long-since adapted to the chilly waters here on Planet Zero, My Liege. Just give the order, and we will retreat to its murky depths, and stop fighting the Cold Force altogether. We will live out the rest of our days inside the ocean, and leave it up to luck to see if our race can continue, without the Cold Force's influence.", The scientist Frost Demon said, only to look at the small Frost Demon lurking inside the large capsule before the two. "And well, whether or not this spawn can make it back to us, it will be up to his fate. Given how strong his Battle Power already is, I fear there might not be much waiting for him if he does decide to seek us out."

"Hmm...", King Frost said, and turned quiet. He raised his hand, and placed it on the birthing pod. The only one left in the entire laboratory. All the rest have been either destroyed, or of use no longer. It was rare to see a new Frost Demon within the Frost Clan.

And the newborn Frost Demon named Boreas here may very well be the last one alive to live to tell the tale.

One change.

Frieza's battle power at birth is his final form (530,000), he develops forms later on to restrict this power.

Boreas's battle power at birth: 500,000.
