The One Piece world – Marineford!
This was the command center of the sea's order, a place that struck fear into pirates everywhere.
Dozens of massive Marine warships lined the port, a terrifying show of force. At the same time, the Navy's three greatest combat powers—the Admirals—were all gathered here.
Admiral's Quarters.
A man in a yellow suit lounged lazily in a chair, legs crossed, trimming his nails with an indifferent look.
This was Kizaru, one of the Navy's top three Admirals.
Nearby lay another Admiral, Aokiji, tall and slender, seemingly gaunt, but with terrifying combat power. He wore an eye mask, resting with his eyes closed.
"Yo~," Kizaru said habitually, continuing to trim his nails. "I heard the Fleet Admiral brought someone back recently."
Like he was talking to himself.
Aokiji's cool voice answered shortly, "Yeah. I heard he values him a lot."
"Hehe," Kizaru chuckled. "Not sure where the rumor started, but they say Sengoku plans to recommend him as a fourth Admiral."
"…?"
Aokiji hesitated, then said, "There's only ever been three Admirals. That's a tradition going back 800 years. They won't break it for just one guy."
Kizaru smirked but didn't respond further.
To them, rumors were meaningless. The idea that some newcomer could rival their strength? Laughable. At best, he'd serve as a Vice Admiral for years and wait for one of them to retire before even dreaming of a promotion.
But then—someone blocked the sunlight from the doorway.
Kizaru instinctively looked up.
A tall, stern-faced man in a cap stood in the entrance.
"Yo? Sakazuki?"
Kizaru raised a brow. What was Akainu doing here?
"Bored and came to chill with us?" he joked.
Akainu shot him a cold glare, glancing at Aokiji asleep nearby.
These slackers… he cursed inwardly. If they had half my work ethic, the seas wouldn't be this chaotic.
Still, they held the same rank, so he said nothing more. Turning away with a scowl, he dropped a single line:
"Sengoku told me to call you to a meeting."
Navy Headquarters – High-Level Strategy Room
A room full of top Navy officials had gathered.
Garp, Tsuru, many seasoned Vice Admirals like Mole and Onigumo—all seated and waiting for Fleet Admiral Sengoku.
Standing behind Garp were two nervous figures: Koby and Helmeppo.
This was their first time in such a high-level meeting. They trembled under the pressure of being surrounded by legends.
"Coby… what's going on?" Helmeppo whispered.
Coby shook his head. He had no clue either.
Even the others were whispering—what emergency could have brought this many top officers together?
Then the door opened.
Sengoku stepped in—and behind him walked a tall, muscular young man.
All eyes turned to the newcomer.
He looked handsome, sure—but had a goofy, bright smile on his face. That smile made him seem strangely approachable… or maybe just a bit dumb.
Wearing a tailored suit that showed off his muscular frame and standing over two meters tall, he didn't look like someone to mess with.
Everyone wondered: Who is this guy?
Kizaru and Aokiji exchanged glances.
Could this be the man Sengoku brought back? The one from the rumors?
Their faces remained calm. They said nothing, waiting to see what Sengoku would say.
Sengoku took his seat with the newcomer beside him.
No pleasantries. He got straight to the point.
"Quiet down. I've got many matters to attend to, so I'll be brief. I gathered you all here to introduce someone."
He gestured to the man beside him.
"This is Good. From this day forward, he is the Navy's fourth Admiral!"
A silence fell over the room like thunder had struck.
WHAT?!
Even the usually uninterested Kizaru widened his eyes behind his shades.
A joke?
Aokiji, who'd been half-asleep a moment ago, suddenly sat upright, staring in disbelief at Sengoku, then at Good.
Just earlier, they'd confidently agreed no tradition could be broken.
Yet now, Sengoku had shattered 800 years of Navy structure… and appointed a fourth Admiral!
Even Akainu, sitting at the head, looked stunned.
Was he hearing things?
A fourth Admiral? This kid? On equal footing with him?
The proud Akainu felt a strange, unpleasant discomfort rising in his chest.
But Sengoku ignored the stares and whispers. He looked to Good and said firmly:
"Good! Introduce yourself."
Good stepped forward, still beaming, and waved cheerfully.
"Hey there, subordinates! Nice to meet ya! I'm Good! I love fighting the most, then eating, and then sleeping!"
…
Silence.
Even the loud, rough-mouthed Garp was completely speechless.
Everyone stared at Good in disbelief.
…Was that really his self-introduction?
Wasn't there supposed to be some motivational speech?
And did he just call them subordinates?
This guy…
As they watched his radiant smile, everyone had the same thought:
This guy's got a screw loose, doesn't he?
