Everyone was starting to doubt reality.
Seeing how satisfied Good was with the nickname Mofu (Reckless Maniac), thinking it was cool, everyone was speechless deep inside.
Vice Admiral Mole covered his face and shook his head, mumbling, "Why do I keep feeling speechless today…"
Onigumo wanted to say something, but the words caught in his throat and turned into a silent sigh.
Beside Good, Sengoku forced a smile and said with a dry laugh, "Good, your admiral title will follow you throughout your military life. It represents your reputation."
"That nickname… Mofu (Reckless Maniac)… uh." Sengoku wanted to say it was a trash name, but because of his status, he held back.
He paused and said, "Good, don't you want to consider changing it?"
However, Good's eyes were firm as he shook his head and waved his hand. "No need, no need."
Then he smiled brightly and said, "I think Reckless Maniac is super cool!"
After speaking, he looked at Akainu and sincerely thanked him. "Thanks, Akainu, for coming up with such a cool name for me!"
Akainu was completely thrown off. He had only meant to mock Good a little, since the battle earlier had been extremely frustrating. He was reckless to the extreme, so he casually threw out the word.
He never expected Good to actually like it.
Akainu was speechless inside, but his expression remained as stiff as ever, like someone owed him a few million berries. He said in a deep voice, "No need to thank me. As long as you're happy."
Thus, the title of the Fourth Admiral was born: Mofu (Reckless Maniac)!
Following Akainu, Aokiji, and Kizaru, the Navy now had another admiral—Mofu.
The meeting came to an end.
As everyone was preparing to leave, Sengoku called out, "Oh right! Akainu!"
Akainu turned back in surprise, not sure what the Fleet Admiral wanted.
He stopped and looked at Sengoku silently.
Sengoku coughed lightly and said, "Half your salary this month will be deducted to cover the repair costs of the meeting room."
"After all, the damage this time was your fault."
Akainu's face grew darker, but since Sengoku had spoken, he couldn't argue.
He grumbled, "What about Good? He should bear some of the cost too, right?"
"Eh!" Sengoku replied, "Good is a newly promoted admiral. He hasn't even gotten his first paycheck yet—he's broke."
"Besides, you threw the first punch, so this is totally fair."
Akainu looked like he'd just swallowed a fly. In the end, he only gave a cold snort and walked away.
As a tactician, Sengoku wasn't someone Akainu could argue with, so he had no choice but to accept defeat.
He was starting to regret it—he took a beating, got injured, and now had to pay for damages. If he had known this would happen, he wouldn't have acted. Huge loss.
The next day, everyone returned to their posts to fulfill their duties.
Aokiji and Kizaru were, as always, slacking off in the Admiral Residence. But this time, there was someone new—Good.
Good munched on rice crackers, feeling that the world was simply wonderful.
These crackers were so delicious. No wonder Garp always snatched Sengoku's crackers in the anime.
They were just like smoky barbecue chips but not greasy, crispy but not dry.
While chewing, Good asked, "Aokiji, Kizaru, are we admirals always this free?"
"Just sitting around, sleeping, drinking, doing our own thing?"
He looked at Aokiji sleeping and Kizaru sipping sake and couldn't help but ask.
Aokiji didn't respond—he seemed fast asleep.
Kizaru glanced at Good and pouted, "Yo~ Good, what are you saying?"
"We're not just loafing around. This is called conserving strength and recharging energy."
"After all, we admirals are responsible for the most dangerous and critical missions, so keeping our condition optimal is essential."
Good nodded in half-understanding while continuing to munch crackers. "Got it! I'll make sure to conserve strength too from now on."
Outside the Admiral Residence, Akainu leaned against the door. The corner of his mouth under his hat twitched involuntarily.
…
The Next Day!
As a military organization, the Navy spread news at lightning speed.
Good had just been promoted to Fourth Admiral yesterday, and today the public announcement was already out.
It spread quickly.
Sabaody Archipelago!
As the gateway to the New World, it was one of the sanctuaries for pirates. Every day, countless pirates arrived here, and many departed toward the legendary New World.
At the end of the New World lay the treasure left behind by the former Pirate King—this was what triggered the Great Pirate Era.
Inside a bar, pirates were drinking wildly.
For these people, their lives hung by a thread. Any day could be their last, so they indulged in the moment, partying and drinking.
Suddenly, a drunk pirate shouted, "Oi!?"
His shout drew attention.
"The Navy just promoted a fourth admiral!" he announced.
A wave of commotion followed.
For pirates, Navy movements were always a big deal.
A new admiral meant bad news for them.
But when they heard the admiral was a rookie nicknamed Mofu (Reckless Maniac), the whole bar erupted in laughter.
"Mofu Admiral? Hahaha…"
"What kind of dumb name is that?"
"An admiral with a name like that probably isn't strong."
"I heard he's just some young guy. Has the Navy run out of people? Or are they trying to scare us?"
"Don't underestimate him. I heard this Mofu (Reckless Maniac) sparred with Akainu—and won!"
"He beat Akainu?? Is this new admiral really that strong?"
"Don't believe that crap. Did you see it with your own eyes?"
"Definitely Navy propaganda. They're probably losing control of the seas and trying to scare us into backing down…"
…
Around the world, civilians also heard the Navy's announcement.
At first, they were delighted. A fourth admiral meant stronger defense against pirates and hope for peace.
But once they learned that the new admiral was called Mofu (Reckless Maniac), and was just a young guy, their hope quickly faded.
Mofu… what kind of dumb name is that?
Didn't seem reliable at all.
