In the underground caverns of The Hallow Woods of Elytheria...
In a certain Cavity in the Middle Layers...
He opened his eyes, it was darkness all around him.
The darkness here was palpable, unearthly and even nightmarish however it had a certain warmth to it that only he could feel...
Currently In this Cavity, he was lying on the cold ground on his back facing the ceiling more like sprawled on the ground...
Not much time had passed since he had opened his eyes...
He was simply lying there on the cold earth for the last 1 hour, just staring or observing the rough ceiling without moving or doing anything like a dead body.
But if one looked closely they would be able to see the life in his bright eyes and the slightly perplexed even confused expression on his face as though trying to compherend the profound secret of where was he...
A minute later...
Suddenly, A male voice was heard in the long silent darkness of the Cavity...
The Voice — It sounded like that of an Adult, Instead of a child... It was deep and masculine.
It said...
"What is this place, it is dark, eerie even cold yet... how do I say this? It doesn't feel this way instead it feels warm'. It mumbled. His bright eyes glimmered with a puzzled light.
As though asking why the cold ground felt warm, why the darkness that should've felt all-consuming and sinister like someone's worst nightmare...Instead felt more welcoming, warm even calm...
But there was no one to hear it, let alone answer the adult voice. He was all alone in the darkness.
The ground he was lying on did feel cold but the darkness embracing him felt different. it was diffused with a warmth that felt soothing and present even calming, like a mother cardeling and embracing her newborn infant.
It gave him a quiet, serene and peaceful feeling even in the silent darkness that stretched as long as the flow of time...
... ... ...
After some more time had passed...
He set up using his hands deciding to look around and find out where was he....
First he looked to his left...
Though the darkness enshrouded the whole area like a dark vail, he can still see clearly. As a being born 'in' darkness which had never seen light, him being able to see clearly in this darkness, which for other who lived up above could be considered all consuming and the biggest threat when traversing the interconnected caverns down below. was rather normal for him...
[ He is born 'in' the Darkness and not 'by' the Darkness like the 'Darkspawn's' or the 'creature's of the Abyss' ]
There on the left side he saw the rocky walls.
Then he looked around, the uneven ceiling up above, the ragged walls to the sides, the cold and flat ground he was sitting on. He could see and feel everything clearly, it all felt unnatural to him! Something new since he had opened his eyes not that long ago he was naturally very curious about all the things around him.
Then he turned to his right..
There on the right end of the cave's wall was a small opening in the ground like an alcove and he saw something unusual in that alcove in this ghostly quiet atmosphere.
His eyes widened, "what's that?" He asked, His voice clearly reflecting his amazement in seeing something else other than darkness in this Cavity...
He just stared at it for a long 5 minutes, lost in his own thoughts.
Then as if on instincts he tried to think what that thing was... but he soon got distracted by another thought that suddenly popped in his mind.
'Who I'm, Where I'm, or What I'm doing in this small dark cave', however unexpectedly as though by some miracle, soon he got his answer.
'So this is my birth place or the place of my origin and I was born here a long time ago but I only managed to gain my 'Ego/Will'... 2 to 3 hours ago'. He thought simplifying the information he got.
Still staring at his right side.
"So, I was born here directly" He repeated with an absent minded expression.
However his gaze was still locked on that strange something to the right side.
'That's why this place feels so much...more..comfortable to me than anything else..' he thought. With an expression of acceptance as though he had already accepted the fact that he was born in a cave from nothing but magical energy and the essence of the planet itself or maybe be by the amalgamation of different energy's.
As something natural.
For him, neither it matters nor he care 'how' he was born. Be it by the amalgamation of energy's or some other mysterious or mythical phenomenon, it was all the same for him.
'Hmm...who cares how I was born, even If I knew, what could've changed 'nothing'. He thought, as not much time had passed since his birth, meaning his mind doesn't work like normal people's do.
Sometimes he would think like a child and sometimes like an adult. Like his mind can swiftly or automatically switch between the two things upon encountering different unique situations...
"Hmn...As for what I'm or where I'm...I know I'm not a magical beast, A spirit or something else entirely...It's such a hard question...welp..let's forget about it for now...it's not like it matters right now anyway....I just became conscious of myself not that long ago...so let's just focus on that...'where I'm'..." he mused as he shifted his attention towards his left side again where there was a wall not far from him... 'a wall...huh'.
"There is a wall on my left... it must be the cave's wall.. hmm" he muttered as he moved and leaned his back against the left cave wall.
Now observing the cavity with much more attention where previously he was just looking and didn't give anything much regard.
Everything was the same as he had seen earlier just that little something which was at his right side was now in front of him just a couple of meters away...
'Then to my right side must be the cave's entrance or exit I suppose' He thought, looking towards his right side..
"Oh! Well there it is" He mumbled, his voice tinged with intrigue and curiosity!.
The supposed cave entrance was a sort of tunnel. Only 2 meter tall...
Even in this darkness he still saw the exit clearly even without any source of light present in this cave.
"Huh, but the cave itself is a lot larger then the entrance... guess I'll just have to be happy about the fact that its high enough that I can still simply walk out of it without much problem.." he thought with a contemplative look on his face.
When he compared the cave's entrance to the cave itself which was about 9 to 10 meter high and 7 to 8 meter wide and 13 to 15 meter long —
