Episode 1: The Rooftop Boy
The sun dipped below the horizon, painting the Seoul skyline in soft shades of rose and gold. The school rooftop was quiet, kissed by a gentle breeze that rustled the cherry blossom petals left behind by spring. It was Juvia's secret spot, a place untouched by the noisy crowds and fake friendships that swirled around her in the halls of Silverlight High.
She leaned on the railing, hair caught in the wind, eyes trailing the fading light. Fourteen, too young to understand the ache in her chest, yet too old to pretend it didn't exist. Something inside her always felt… ancient, as if she'd lived this life before. As if her soul remembered something her mind couldn't grasp.
That's when she saw him.
He was sitting on the far edge of the rooftop, earphones in, back against the wall, one knee drawn up casually like the world didn't exist. Black hair, slightly tousled. Sharp jawline. That same cold presence she had felt from the first moment she saw him.
Ha-jun.
Her brother's best friend. Two years older. Quiet. Dangerous. Beautiful.
He didn't belong here. Not in this school, not on this rooftop, not in her thoughts. But somehow, he always was.
Juvia had always kept her distance. Ha-jun wasn't like the other boys who followed her around like lost puppies. He barely looked at her. Never spoke to her. His silence was louder than anything else. He was a mystery — and every time she tried to forget him, her heart whispered his name like a prayer beneath the moonlight.
She didn't know why she walked closer. Maybe it was the way he seemed... lost. Like he was searching for something too. Or maybe it was that strange pull again — the feeling that they were connected by something far older than time.
"You're not supposed to be here," his voice was quiet, but it cut through the wind.
Juvia froze. He didn't look at her, eyes still on the sky.
"I could say the same," she replied, her voice small but steady.
For a moment, neither of them spoke. Just the wind. The dying sun. And the weight of something unspoken between them.
"You always come here after school," he murmured, still not looking at her. "Why?"
She hesitated. "Because it feels like the only place that's real."
That made him glance at her, just slightly. Their eyes met — and the world blurred.
In that second, something inside Juvia shifted. She saw it in his eyes — sorrow, pain, but also… recognition. Like he knew her. Like he'd always known her.
But just as quickly, he looked away.
"You should go," he said softly.
And just like that, the moment broke.
Juvia turned without another word, her heart pounding, her thoughts a mess. But as she reached the door, she heard him whisper behind her — a voice so faint it might've been the wind.
"You're not supposed to remember yet..."
She froze.
What did he mean?
But when she turned around… he was gone.
Only the cherry blossoms remained, dancing like lost memories under the coming night.
