Synopsis
Kael realizes that reality is stranger than fiction as the truth slowly begins to unfold. While searching through forgotten records, he discovers descriptions of a man eerily similar to himself. A man sinister enough to oppose the goddess he keeps seeing in his dreams, a goddess the world reveres as its Savior. As if that were not disturbing enough, Kael begins to notice something even more impossible. Reality itself seems to bend to his deepest desires. If the world was truly waiting for his arrival, then what exactly was he meant to become?

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 - Prologue

Kael Haefel regained consciousness in a quiet room dimly lit by a desk lamp.

He felt cold as the wind blew directly toward him from a fan.

"Where am I?" he muttered to himself.

Still slightly dazed from being unconscious, he tried to compose himself first.

He looked at a mirror to see his dark hair and eyes that resemble the void. He also saw himself wearing a black jacket with a white shirt inside.

He heard loud sounds from outside the building, but he doesn't seem to be bothered about it.

"Ah yeah, I remember now," he says.

"I came here to learn more about that eye. That cursed eye."

"For some reason, it keeps appearing more frequently in my dreams again, and I had to do something about it. That's why I'm here."

He realized that he had been unconscious for too long and decided that he should be going now.

"That was a great sleep. No dreams at all. I hate dreaming," he thought to himself.

Then he heard another loud bang.

Then another.

And another.

It just keeps happening, but Kael just thinks of it as background noise and moves on.

A thought came to his mind.

"Selen, that goddess everyone keeps talking about. I wonder what kind of life she had. Well, it's strange that she keeps appearing in my dream, not saying anything and just looking at me. Although I don't resent seeing her and would rather dream about her rather than that vile eye," his mind chatters.

He decides to leave the building. The doors were all ajar as he walked past each of them.

Thoughts still ran amok in his mind until he felt the sun on his face.

He stopped thinking so that he could focus on the warmth of the sun on his face.

Then a man sees him, sees his civilian outfit, and hurriedly runs to him in panic.

"What are you doing here?" the man exclaimed.

"I have to take you somewhere safe, sir! This is a warzone!"

Kael yawns, regaining his senses to his current predicament.

"You may want to stand behind me," Kael says to the man as some bullets were fired in his general direction, eerily missing both of them.

The man rushed somewhere safe, signaling Kael to come with him after the bullets stopped firing.

After trying to maneuver the terrain and dodge enemy fire, they finally arrived at the base of the soldier.

They hurriedly ushered Kael, the supposed civilian, inside the transport vehicle, then immediately started driving him to safety.

The gunfire slowly started to fade away as they drove past the warzone.

With him were a few soldiers. The one who found him outside the building looked at him.

"Those bullets. They should have hit you. Are you sure you are not secretly injured somewhere?" said the soldier, with a look of worry on his face.

"None of those bullets hit me. Really." Kael replied.

"It's just something natural to me after I tried to pursue the meaning of that eye," continued Kael.

"The eye? What are you talking about?" the soldier replied, confused.

"Nothing you need to worry about."

The drive continued, and the conversation started to quiet down.

Kael then looked outside to enjoy the view as his mind began to think.

Looking at the scenery outside while thinking was one of Kael's favorite things to do while riding in a vehicle.

"Well, just recently, reality started to bend according to my desire. It's as if the cosmos has been aligning itself to lead the way for me," Kael thought to himself.

"At least that's the theory I've come up with so far... and it seems to be coherent."

"I wonder what lies ahead in my path?"

"Will I dream more of that goddess with ashen hair and silver eyes? Or that primordial eye that can supposedly change the landscape each time it blinks? Because I really prefer the former."
