"Fuck! Can't I have my sleep?!"
The loud, incessant knocking and crashing woke up a sleep-deprived college student.
Lying on a simple wooden bed in a four-person dormitory, a handsome freshman with platinum blonde hair and icy blue eyes rubbed his eyes in annoyance.
Groggily leaving the bed, Zayne Voss didn't open the door but cautiously peeked at the peephole.
However, when he did, it horrified him when he saw a disheveled man with pale skin with visible blue and red veins. Its eyes were unfocused, and its hand banged at the door as if searching for prey, which explained the sound that woke him up.
Coupled with its somewhat familiar growls, Zayne couldn't help but rub his eyes again and mutter, "Am I awake or still dreaming? How come there's a zombie outside my dormitory?"
To test it, he clapped both of his cheeks.
After feeling the pain, Zayne still couldn't believe it, so he counted his fingers, and they were ten. He pushed his right hand into his left hand, but it didn't phase through it.
He took out a book from a desk drawer, and after reading the content, the letters weren't garbled.
After doing all of those lucid dream tests, Zayne realized that he truly was in the real world now, and he's, in fact, awake.
Shaking his head, Zayne grimaced, 'Sure enough, it's unlikely to transmigrate in a normal world.'
'This world is very similar to Earth, aside from it being named Terra, and some historical events deviated, and country names being different from those on Earth.'
'And due to the lack of a golden finger or cheat skill, I've often ignored the fact that I had transmigrated into this world.'
Zayne had already died in his past life on Earth, and this was already his second life.
He had awakened his memories at the age of 6, and he was already 18 now, yet with no cheat skill.
At first, he planned to rely on his perks as a transmigrator and wait for a cheat skill or system to awaken within him.
However, he later stopped daydreaming after waiting for years, yet to no avail. But, he wasn't discouraged, as his past life's memories were still an advantage as he used them to plan for his future in this world.
Having already finished College in his past life and even gotten a doctorate, he already planned out his career path and made the most of this second life, casting away any delusions of being the strongest in the world or starting a harem.
While Zayne was reminiscing about his past, he wasn't idle, as he had already taken out a crowbar he had hidden under his bunk bed.
He and his roommates weren't normal people, and it's also the reason why none of them were with him when he woke up.
Zayne even bet that one of them was likely staying up in a love hotel after hooking up with a beautiful college girl.
Gripping the metal crowbar tightly in his right hand, Zayne flicked it in the air and trained himself to get used to its weight, while thinking:
'I wonder what Damien felt after waking up and seeing his bed partner becoming a zombie. Surely, he shouldn't be that unlucky, right?'

Mourning his playboy roommate for a second, Zayne was about to check the windows and scout the surroundings, but a notification sound ringing in his mind had interrupted.
It was followed by a translucent blue screen with text displayed on it, appearing in front of his vision.

After pausing for a while, the blue screen text panels appeared again.
[And you may be asking, why is the announcement for the World Update several minutes late?]
[Well, those who had died early deserved it. They were too imperfect to even have the chance to pursue the evolutionary path to perfection, so good riddance!]
[Anyway, I'm already done with the announcement, and I'm not getting paid enough for this shit. The World Will will take over from here, and subsequent world announcements will mostly be generated by it.]

While Zayne was objectively commenting about the unhinged world announcement, he didn't really care much about its late announcement, as he had woken up late.
Anyway, it wasn't his turn to cry as it wasn't him who died.
As for his family, he is a transmigrator for a reason.
He got the orphan package, and his parents died in a car accident, leaving him with an inheritance big enough to prevent student loans.
He also doesn't have any siblings, so it's fine.
After the announcer was changed to the World Will of Terra, a few more system screens popped up.
