Synopsis
Max wasn't expecting an exciting life. He was just a random teen from our world who, after an uneventful death, woke up in the Marvel Multiverse. Unlike every other fantasy story, he had no System, no cheat powers, and no immediate path to strength. His only choice was to live a quietly mundane existence, focus on school, and ignore the constant threat of super-villains and cosmic events. But the mundane quickly dissolved. It started with one bite, then ten, then a hundred. The mysterious, infectious plague of the Marvel Zombies had begun. S.H.I.E.L.D. tried to contain and cover up the catastrophe, but the speed and ferocity of the outbreak were unstoppable. Soon, New York City was a labyrinth of corpses and ravenous infected heroes. Captain America, Spider-Man, Captain Marvel, and many others fought desperately for the people they swore to protect, but even their legendary power was not enough to save them from the hunger. The remaining uninfected heroes retreated: the Avengers hid in their secured towers, while the X-Men took refuge on Magneto's island of Genosha, erecting a powerful barrier to seal themselves off from the infected and uninfected alike, abandoning humanity to its terrifying fate. The inhumans retreated to their home in Atlantis, and the Wakandans closed off their borders permanitly and the sorcerers of Kamar Taj used their mystic abilities to hide themeselves from the rest of the world. Humanity was split, and no one was looking out for the other. Max is now just another terrified human caught in a world where *nothing* can stop the undead. As he scrambles for survival amidst the fall of civilization, everything suddenly changes, and a voice echoes in the silence of his mind: > [Congratulations: The world has fallen, zombies have taken over, but you have survived.] > [Award for Surviving Zombie Takeover: Fully Stocked Zombie Apocalypse RV.] > [Welcome Host to Marvel Zombies.] I'm basing Max off myself, the choices i'd make in his shoes and they may be times where you think me sappy, dumb or just relatively stupid. But I hope you'll give it a chance.

Chapter 1 - Info:

The protagonist, Maxwell "Max" Rook, was an ordinary young man from our modern world who unexpectedly died and found himself reborn within a terrifying fusion of the Marvel Multiverse. This reality synthesizes elements from the 616 Comics, the foundational Marvel Zombies comic runs, the core dynamics of the MCU, and aspects from various X-Men, Avengers, Fantastic Four, and Spider-Man animated series.

Crucially, upon rebirth, Max was given no 'golden finger,' system, or innate superpower. He was merely a new consciousness in an existing body. Forced to confront this new existence without any advantages, Max chose to pursue an ordinary, low-profile life. This path led him to attend Midtown School of Science and Technology (Spider-Man's high school), where he hoped to observe the world's threats from a safe distance and simply live out his second chance quietly. Of course he had to become friends with Peter Parker who was his favourite hero and the two became best of friends ( sorry Ned).

The Catastrophe: The Zombie Outbreak

The quiet life ended abruptly with the arrival of the Zombie Plague. The outbreak began with rapid, viral spread, quickly escalating from isolated incidents to city-wide infection. S.H.I.E.L.D., still operational and led by figures like Nick Fury, attempted to utilize quarantine and misinformation to hide the escalating disaster, but their efforts were swiftly overwhelmed.

New York City became the epicenter, transforming into a hellscape populated by the undead. Max witnessed firsthand the rapid collapse of civilization and the horrifying infection of heroes. Initial defenders like Captain America, Spider-Man, and Daredevil attempted to protect the civilian populace, only to be devoured and converted into super-powered, cannibalistic infected.

The Great Abandonment (The Heroes' Betrayal)

As the infection reached critical mass, the surviving, uninfected powered individuals made a devastating choice: they abandoned humanity.

The Avengers retreated to highly-secured, self-sustaining locations, such as reinforced towers and hidden compounds, focusing exclusively on their own survival.

Wakanda hid themeselves in their kingdom blocking the outside world completely using their vibranium to errect a barrier around their home. Not even trying to help the innocent lives desperate for survival on the outside

The Inhumans returned to Atlantis and same as Wakanda created a barrier to protect themeselves from the outbreak. Despite Namor and other villains attempts at taking over the surface for years they didn't have the balls to help out the subjects they may have ruled over.

The X-Men, under the leadership of Magneto (who, in this continuity, has established a firm stance on Mutant separatism), retreated to the island nation of Genosha. They utilized their combined powers and technology to erect a powerful, sustained electromagnetic and energy barrier, sealing the island off entirely from the mainland and deliberately leaving all non-mutant humanity to the mercy of the plague. This act of cold isolation cemented a deep-seated hatred in Max.

Maxwell Rook: The Unpowered Survivor

Role: Max is a Wanderer—a non-powered individual focused solely on day-to-day survival in the collapsed world. He possesses no innate powers, no combat training, and no special skills. His primary resource is his encyclopedic knowledge of zombie apocalypse tropes gleaned from movies and media in his previous life. This knowledge of common weaknesses, safe-house strategies, and resource management is his only true edge.

Personality and Drive:

Moral Compass: Max is fundamentally kind and considerate, attempting to uphold basic human decency in a desperate world.

Conflict: When facing the infected, he strives to be brave and merciless, understanding that hesitation means death, but he is still constantly plagued by fear and self-doubt.

Intelligence: He is smart and highly pragmatic, excelling at planning and resource optimization, but he is not a genius in the same vein as Peter Parker or Tony Stark.

Deep-Seated Hatred: He harbors a profound, burning hatred for the surviving heroes and mutants due to their cynical abandonment of humanity. This is not bigotry against their nature, but a reaction to their utter failure and betrayal during the crisis. He retains respect only for the heroes who died trying to save others. It is also due to an event that happened in the beggining of the outbreak which will be revealed later.

The Survival System

Max's life changes with the sudden activation of the Survival System—a 'golden finger' that only manifested after the world's collapse, seemingly as a last-ditch tool for extreme conditions.

Primary Function: The System's sole purpose is to assist the user in survival. It issues missions and rewards based on the difficulty and sustainability of the tasks performed.

Reward Mechanics:

Daily Rewards: Every successful day of survival earns Max a reward, which can be as mundane as vital food or medical supplies.

Weekly Rewards: The longer he survives consecutively, the better the rewards become, culminating in weekly payouts that can include items of cosmic power, advanced technology, or combat skills crucial for navigating the high-stakes Marvel reality.

The final system notification that greeted Max was the harsh, factual reality of his new existence:

[Congratulations: The world has fallen, zombies have taken over, but you have survived.]

[Award for Surviving Zombie Takeover: Fully Stocked Zombie Apocalypse RV.]

[Welcome Host to Marvel Zombies.]
