We start off in an inner city neighborhood. One much quieter then the news would make you think. Of course we have the drug peddlers on the corner. With there 40 Oz malt liquor. Junkies all over the place but its quiet and peaceful.
Its the early 1995 and our main character is a 5 year old named Charles. He wasn't strong athletic but one thing he had was his brain. He had an older brother of Seven named Jessie who was his entire opposite. Who often bullied him for what reason who knows. A younger sister of only one named Jessica. A mother who took care of them as best she could.
They often went to Christian church. Everyone enjoyed themselves. Listened to the preacher preach. Sang when the choir sang. Except Charles who noticed something weird. He didn't understand why no one else noticed this oppressive pressure or where it was coming from.
After a couple years he had his first chance to talk to the pastor. It was a simple HI. The pastor responded and this foul smell hit him like a right hook from Mike Tyson. He couldn't say much because he probably would have got a whoopin. Yet that was when he decided when got old enough he would never go to church when he got older.
