Chapter 1 - New World

Northern Continent

Levron City, Capital of the Great Fire Lion Kingdom

The world of Elendor was divided into five continents. Humans resided in the North. Dwarves ruled the South. Elves occupied the West. Giants dominated the East. And the Dragonborns claimed the central continent.

These were the five main races, with countless smaller tribes and species scattered across each territory. All races fought endlessly for survival and supremacy. But after countless aeons of struggle, a new horror emerged, the Nightmares.

They attacked from a secret dimension, overwhelming the other races and tilting the balance of the world towards darkness. The Nightmares were beings born from the very fabric of terror, ghosts, undead, warriors, living curses, and abominations crafted by evil deities, whose cruelty knew no bounds.

They despised all other races, viewing them as lesser beings. From among them rose powerful Nightmare Kings, each one strong enough to subdue an entire race. Even the greatest champions of Elendor struggled against them.

For millennia, the Nightmares ruled with iron fists, drowning the world in endless fear. However, their reign was shattered when the five continents formed a grand alliance.

Heroes rose to stand against the nightmares and their evil deities. They pushed the Nightmares and their creators back into the secret dimensions, restoring peace to Elendor.

However, that peace was fleeting. The Nightmares eventually broke free again, unleashing devastation upon the world. To maintain stability, the five races founded the five great 'Heroic Institutes,' academies that trained individuals with immense potential to venture into the secret dimensions and fight the Nightmare threat directly.

Over ten thousand years later, Elendor once again thrived under an age of peace, sustained by the sacrifices of these heroes.

The Great Fire Lion Kingdom was founded by one of humanity's greatest heroes, a man who singlehandedly slew a Nightmare King and lived to tell the tale. His name was Levron Great Lion.

The current emperor, Solon Great Lion, was a Magical Swordsman renowned for his mastery of fire. His flames were said to burn hotter than the sun, and a single swing of his sword could sever even the bones of an evil deity.

His mere existence deterred the Nightmares from breaching the dimensions again and kept the other races wary of humanity's power.

Although peace reigned across Elendor, the powers still wrestled with internal strife, ambition, and greed.

This year marked the Awakening Ceremony, when young adults aged eighteen discovered whether they possessed the immense power to enter a Heroic Institute.

The capital was bursting with activity. Pedestrians crowded the stone-paved streets. Streets thrummed with life as merchants shouted prices, adventurers and nobles filled the air with chatter, and magical beasts pulled ornate carriages through the cobbled avenues.

People moved in swarms, some soaring through the skies atop winged creatures, while others levitated with their own magic. Every inn and restaurant was packed to the brim, the aroma of enchanted cuisine drifting through the air, tempting even the most disciplined passerby.

Yet, in a quiet corner of a shabby district where few pedestrians passed, stood a small, spotless, one-story building made of clean white bricks

On the signboard, above the door, glowing in faintly flickering colours, were the words:

[ Dimensional Convenience Store ]

After learning a few important details about the world he had appeared in, Jonathan thanked the aged couple before him several times before turning to look at his store.

The building is a small brick structure with two windows on one side and a door in the centre. However, the signboard above it was dazzlingly luxurious, shining with bright multicoloured LED lights that danced like stars. It looked as if every penny spent on construction had gone into making the signboard.

It was also the only thing that made the store look alien, causing anyone who walked by to cast a glance at it.

The aged couple nodded in response and also looked at the store curiously because of its unique appearance. But they didn't dare enter or ask any questions. They simply pretended as though they hadn't seen anything and turned around to leave.

Jonathan sighed. He would've changed its appearance if he could, but the design wasn't in his hands. It was dictated by the Dimensional Convenience Store Tycoon System, the strange system that had appeared the moment he inherited his late uncle's store.

Back then, he had assumed he could live off the money from selling the convenience store for a while while his mates charged headfirst into life. But who would've guessed he'd awaken a system?

Unfortunately, it wasn't the type of system that handed him legendary weapons or mythical relics capable of shaking the heavens. This one stocked ordinary convenience-store products — snacks, instant noodles, and bottled drinks — enabling him to sell them to another world.

The system didn't even take pity on him with a 'Sign-In Bonus' or a 'Slacker System.' Instead, it instantly teleported him into another world:

[ Tasks: Sell to your first customer in three days (2/3), otherwise the system will be terminated. Warning, you currently have three days left.]

 [ Reward: Unlock 2 Random Products. ]

He had hidden in the store on the first day, slowly checking out all the transformations it had undergone.

On the second day, he mustered his courage and stepped out of the store after spotting an old couple staring curiously at his store. Since they appeared less threatening, he quickly obtained valuable information about the world he was now in.

Fortunately, in a rundown area, no one seemed to ask why an unknown building appeared out of thin air.

Although Jonathan was interested in this new world, being suddenly teleported out of his home world and given a timeline to sell an item, or the system would terminate itself, without any information about whether he would return, made him furious.

Jonathan walked to the front door and pushed it open. Although the system granted him protection, it wasn't as powerful when outside the store.

Jonathan figured that this was to keep him from running away from the store and adventuring into this new world.
