Chapter 1 - Your Mother’s Here to Take Care of You… Right?

A gust of wind drifted through the open window, stirring the thin curtains as it passed. The air was thick with the lingering scent of incense, wrapping the room in its warm embrace.

The rising sun poured its light over the pair of curtains, making them translucent, letting bright sunlight pierce the previously dim room.

On a bed within the room lay a young man still deep in his slumber. His long white hair had turned a faint golden color when hit by the bright sunlight.

As though being slowly woken by the sunlight, his eyes opened little by little. They were a pair of pure, golden eyes—eyes as bright as the morning sun itself.

It was as though they contained all the warm light within the sunlight that had slipped through the curtains into the room.

"Hmm... Another day..."

The young man tried to move his body but failed. Instead, all he felt was an indescribable sense of weakness all over his body and mind. It was an all-too-familiar sensation.

"Nothing's changed... huh?"

Wu Yang let out a bitter smile as he continued staring at the window, letting the morning sun's warmth wash over his pale, cold skin.

His thoughts drifted off to memories of when he was still a proud young master of the Wu Clan, with an extraordinary cultivation talent. He was a rising star, soaring through the skies of the cultivation world.

He was praised as the hope of the clan—one who would bring it to further glories. Everyone knew who he was. He was a symbol of strength and hope, the next big figure in the cultivation world.

Yet everything changed in an instant.

One day, while resting in a mountain cave, he found an exquisite pagoda hidden deep within the cave. It was the size of an egg and gave off a cold, black light.

When Wu Yang approached the pagoda, it glowed with a bright light, surrounding him before disappearing.

At the time, Wu Yang thought little of it. He assumed that the pagoda was an artifact with its own will and that it had deemed him unfit to wield it, thus disappearing.

After leaving the cave, Wu Yang continued living his life as usual. However, only after a few days had passed did he feel that something wasn't right with his body.

He was often weak and listless; his once-strong body seemed to be falling apart, and he felt a sense of unbearable fatigue, like all the life in him had been sucked dry.

This went on for a long period of time before he couldn't even move his body anymore.

"Hehe... It feels like this body is my own... yet not..." Wu Yang chuckled, feeling helpless at his own situation.

As he pondered what had happened in the past, the sound of footsteps approaching from outside the room could be heard.

The door was pushed open without so much as a knock, revealing the face of a beautiful woman dressed in a white, high-slit qipao. It was decorated with red trim and golden patterns that seemed to depict phoenixes.

The dress had bold cut outs around the chest and waist, giving it a very revealing and alluring look while still keeping an elegant shape. Her perfect breasts were visible through the open chest of the dress, pushing up and threatening to escape at any moment.

The slit around her hips showed the perfect curve of her long legs and smooth thighs, stopping just shy of her waistline.

Atop her head was a golden headpiece adorned with many precious gemstones. Her long blue hair fell like silk down to the back of her hips. The contrast between her beautiful blue hair and her smooth, pale skin was eye-catching to anyone who gazed upon her.

The woman had a graceful demeanor, carrying herself in a calm, dignified way, moving through the world like an immortal from a bygone age, free from the trappings of the mundane world.

Even before she could open her mouth, anyone would have guessed that her temperament was quiet and composed, without any hint of aggression or arrogance.

"Yang'er, good morning. Did you sleep well?" Bai Yue asked in a soft tone.

Wu Yang's eyes drifted in her direction, landing on the woman's exquisite form. Her presence made him feel calm and relaxed, while her scent soothed his tired mind.

She was his mother—the mother who always cared for him even though he'd turned into a useless man. Even when everyone had abandoned him, she remained by his side.

He sighed internally, realizing just how lucky he was to be blessed with such a wonderful and caring mother.

"Yes. Although the sensation of losing control over my own body is hard to get used to... I've still enjoyed a lot of good sleep."

Bai Yue moved to his side in three elegant strides, leaning in close to Wu Yang's face. She looked down at him, gazing straight into his eyes.

"Then why are you so dispirited? Your eyes tell me that you're... very tired. Hasn't this been going on for some time already? What does it matter that you don't have the strength to move your body? You have me, your mother, to take care of you... right?" She stroked his cheek gently, her tone filled with worry.

Wu Yang shook his head. "Mom, I should be the one taking care of you. But here I am, a useless man in need of assistance every day, unable to do anything by myself. If this goes on... even you, my beloved mother... will get tired of me."

"Nonsense, nonsense," Bai Yue scolded him, shaking her head. "How can a mother tire of her child? How could I, Bai Yue, need someone to take care of me? Do you take me for a weak, pitiful woman? Yang'er, you really disappoint me, saying such a thing..."

Wu Yang smiled wryly, knowing that his mother was right. There wasn't anything she couldn't handle. "Haha... I should know that the legendary beauty, Madam Wu, is anything but a weak, pitiful woman..."

"Good that you know... Now, it's time for your bath." Bai Yue gave him a little nod of satisfaction and moved away the blanket that was covering his body.
