Synopsis
Adrian has always preferred staying in the shadows. At seventeen, he’s the quiet twin, awkward, observant, and perfectly fine with being invisible in a school full of rich, loud, and dramatic teenagers. His twin sister Avery, on the other hand, is the complete opposite: popular, confident, and best friends with Bryan, the golden boy everyone seems to want. Bryan and Avery's friendship keeps pulling Adrian out of the shadows, he finds himself crossing paths with Bryan more often than ever. And the more Bryan intrudes into his quiet, hidden world, the harder it becomes for Adrian to ignore the truth, that his preference was not what it seemed. A slow-burn boys’ love story about opposites colliding, walls breaking down, and the dangerous possibility of letting someone “intrude just a little.”

Chapter 1 - Invisible

 ADRIAN POV:

In every high school they are the bullies, the bad boys and high school beauties, the nerds and of cause the everybody dream guy, and yeah my types, the unknown audience, just observing every thing that goes on in the school.

Coupled with the fact that this school is fulql of spoilt rich brats, yeah they are many groups of the above listed high schooler.

I'm Adrian Hayes, a normal 17 year old high schooler, quite, observant and every inch, social awkward.

I have a twin sister Avery, who looks very much like me but is nothing like me. She is popular, confident and of cause, a socialist .

And then there is Bryan, the everybody's dream guy, but f**k, I hate the guy's guts but unfortunately his my sister's best friend.

Well nothing about him ever concerned me as the number of times we interacted could be counted with both hands despite being my sister's friend.

Any way, those things will be talked about later in the story but now, the fight that was currently happening in the cafeteria has my attention.

Avery like always is going head to head with the school bitches, Sara, Kiran and Gloria. And hell no, am not involved and I never get involved.

I'm currently seated in a one sitter chair in a far corner of the cafeteria that allows me to see others but well hidden from every one's sight.

My sister and the school bitches always argue about different things one of which is about Bryan, like the current ongoing fight.

Apparently, Sara, the leader had asked Bryan to watch a movie with her on Saturday but he turned her down that he was busy but Avery posted a picture of both her and Bryan in the park on Saturday.

"You can post a thousand selfies with him doesn't mean he's thinking about you when he's alone" Sara said loudly . She had, obviously fake lashes on, black shoulder length hair and a bubble gum in her mouth.

"Of course, I know, I don't own his thought so he obviously has many different thought which of course you are not one them." Avery with brown eyes gotten from dad and curly dark brown bouncing hair gotten from mom, said dripping sarcasm as she held her food tray.

"You!!" Sara said going to attack Avery but was held back by Gloria who was less of a bitch with her doll like face.

The last time Avery and Sara got physical, Sara was beaten up really badly.

"So are you guys dating?" Kiran asked Avery arrogantly, flipping her long bouncing brown hair exposing her beautiful side profile. If not for her acting all bitchily, she would be among my long list of girls I have a crush on.

"And, how will that be your business?" Avery asked putting down her tray on the table beside her.

" You should have a little self dignity as a girl. If he really wanted you, we wouldn't be having this conversation". Avery added directed at Sara.

"That's not you concern." Sara snapped.

"Keep chasing. I don't have to, cause am really hungry, so if you don't mind..." Avery said sitting down. "I would like to eat in peace."

Sara wanted to speak but Gloria gestured to a direction and behold the topic of the day Bryan walked in with his basketball friends all smiles making his dimple very visible.

As much as it pained me to admit, he is very handsome with his blue eyes and blond long hair that covers half of his face.

He walks straight to Avery and sit down next to her ignoring the three other girls.

Sara stomped her feet and walked away angrily while Kiran and Gloria followed.

Well now the show was over and so was my food. I took the last sip of water in my glass, (it's kind of my thing to clear the whole plate), draged my hoodie down to cover my own existence. Hung my bag on one shoulder and took the empty plate to the sink.

I had to pass by my sister table to get there, and it would not be Avery if she didn't call my name.

"Adrian!" She called with a smile pulling the attention of the people around her to me. Don't get me wrong, is not that I feel inferior but am very lazy to talk to anybody, being polite, smiling, being friendly and other social stuff are energy consuming to me. My words are always straight forward and most times hurt people feelings so I rather keep them to my self than worry about people's feelings.

I nodded my head to acknowledge her then went on my way.

I went to the next class, although lunch break wasn't over yet. Nobody was in the class expect two lovers who where all over each other who didn't notice me walk in.

I sat in my usual sit, the last seat beside the window that allowed me to see what was going on outside.

I put on my headphones but played no music, God knows I hate any form of noise. The headphones just gives me a good reason to ignore anybody who talks to me.

Putting down my head on my desk, I closed my eyes and took a little nap.

Lunch break was over, teachers came in talked gave assignments, nagged and did things teachers do and left, then finally school was over and I could finally go home.

I didn't wait for Avery cause I never waited for her. She had this long list of friends that she would greet after school. And yeah she was also in the student council.

I took a cab home just in time to meet my elder sister, Rihanna, coming back from where ever she went to. For the record, our parents are late, never met my mom apart from her pictures that dad had put up all over the house, she died during childbirth and then dad when we were 12 in an accident.

I have an elder brother, Eden, who took after dad. He is married and have two kids.

I and Avery are children of my parents Old age, so yeah, there is an huge gap between my elder siblings and us.

"Oh, Adrian, you are back from school." Ria said as she saw me.

 "Yeah." I replied.

" Is Avery still at school?" She asked.

"Yeah." I replied. My replies may seem rude, but my family knew me and never felt offended. At times they just go on talking never concerned about whether I answered or not, just like now, Ria was going on about something that happened in the law firm she works with.
