Synopsis
Ren Carter was a normal College Graduate who played a lot of games, specifically Genshin Impact. While he wasn't the best in the game, he was good enough and had quite the bit of attachment to the game, to the point he had read quite a bit of fan novels and had played numerous famous fan games and had spent quite a bit of time in one of the fan games and in Genshin Impact. Now, Ren Carter finds himself waking up in the world of Genshin Impact after answering a survey he had received from the developer of the fan game he had loved, without any Vision, No Elemental Powers and no way back. But the leveling up system from his favorite fan game has followed him here. He can level up through effort, fighting and learning from others and grow stronger step by step. Armed with nothing but his knowledge of the game's world and mechanics, Ren has to Survive, Adapt, and find his place among the heroes, legends and archons. For the first time, the choices are his to make and the bonds he forms may decide his fate. Author's Note: Hi everyone! Thank you so much for checking out my story This is not a translation, but an original fan novel written with love for Zenless Zone Zero. Every chapter takes a lot of time and energy to create, and while I’ll always keep writing because I enjoy it, your encouragement truly helps me keep going. If you’d like to support me further, you can do so here: (remove spaces) www .pa treon .com/c/CelesteLuneth Please only support if you’re able — there’s no pressure. Even just reading, leaving comments, or sharing your thoughts means so much to me and gives me the motivation to write more. Every bit of support, whether big or small, helps me bring this story to life. I’ll aim to stay true to the original storyline, though some changes are inevitable with the introduction of my character. For clarity, this story will not include harems, as that isn’t a direction I enjoy writing. While the MC may occasionally be flirty, I intend to keep their behavior grounded and realistic. Romance will eventually become part of the narrative, but it will develop gradually, allowing the MC to build genuine connections, make mistakes, and respond to confessions in a natural way. Ultimately, my goal is to portray the MC as a sincere individual rather than an exploitative one. (I.e. scum) Thank you for being part of this journey with me!

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Ren Carter

Ren Carter had just gotten back from his attending his own graduation, recalling how some mundane the whole thing was, still he was happy it was finally over. no more exams, unnecessary studying, grades, professor and mandatory attendance and just overall stressful and pressure.

Ren took off his bag, as he got inside his own home. "I'm Home." Ren said, fully aware that no one was going to greet him back. he had been an orphan for as long as he could remember, and despite being orphan he had managed to finish college and while he did not have many friends or have much experience with relationships, he was still somewhat happy and content.

Removing his graduation robe and changing into his home wear, he goes into the kitchen while tying his long hair preparing to cook something to celebrate his own graduation. despite not having many friends or experience with relationships with the opposite sex, he was still unbelievable kind to others despite his quiet and introverted self.

The smell of the food filled his small apartment as he finished cooking and setting up the living room area. he turn on the tv and loaded Genshin Impact up, it's one of the games he likes to play the most and has quite a bit of attachment, as he had started playing the game even before he had gotten into college and has resulted in him being well-known in the forums despite not being the best in the game and he had read many fanfic novels and played numerous famous fan games.

Ren slumps unto the couch behind him opening his phone as he ate the food on the table while waiting for Genshin to load up. he sees an email notification from the developer of his favorite fan game of his favorite game. The developer of the fan game doesn't really send emails, chat or response to anyone at all, barely anything is known of the developer aside from them making this fan game and just disappearing from the internet.

He was sure it was the developer as the handle of the email led back to the only page of the developer. Ren was excited and immediately open the email to read what was inside it.

'Good Evening Mister Ren Carter, this is ----

I hope this finds you well, but I was curious if you find genshin impact fun and did you have fun with the fan game I made for it. If so, would you be willing to answer this survey?

www.-----.---/---------/----/'

While he was surprised by the email he had received from the dev, he was more than happy to answer the survey, it was something he did whenever he had time and he genuine enjoyed them, especially the psychological surveys or studies. Ren found writing his thoughts and sharing his opinion on things he likes, like games very enjoyable.

Ren opens the survey and begins answering the survey, and the question itself were a bit normal at the start. "how would you rate the fan game" or "what was your overall experience" and "What was your favourite aspect of the fan game?" but as the survey went on, it started getting weird and were more oriented on essay type answers.

"Do you currently find your life boring, why?", "What made you love genshin personally?", "what do you value the most in your current life?", "What would you do with your second life?", "What did you like about the fan game I had made?" and "If you were in genshin impact, would your life be any different?"

the questions for the survey were weird and oddly specific and were just getting more and more farther from the scope of what you'd think was a normal for a game survey, still ren didn't find anything weird about it to the point he'd stop, because it was still fun. the questions weren't off putting for him and simply thought it was meant for a second game or a personal project the developer was working on.

and he finally got to the last question that didn't really make sense and had him audible speak out.

"What?" Ren said looking at the last question.

"I hope you have fun." was the last question.

As ren pressed finish, the power went out as heavy rain with thunders roaring outside his window, as he was slowly losing his consciousness, like he had not sleep for years. he tried to stay awake and get up as he felt something weird was going on and it was scaring him, yet no matter what he tried his body was slowly losing strength and as he got up to take a step, he stumbles unto the table and falling to the floor in between the sofa and living table, and just like that he lost consciousness.

Ren slowly open his eyes only to see a beautiful blue unobstructed sky, and as he looks at his surrounding, he finds himself shock at the thing he sees in the distance, it was something he had seen numerous times yet, seeing it personally despite it still being a bit far was unbelievable.
