Peace be upon you, this is the first chapter of my novel 💔 But the important thing is that I tried because if it gets liked, I will continue 🫣 😅
Title of the Novel: Should I Fight My Husband or the Black Tumor
Genre: Romantic Psychological Action Light
And in the name of God, let's begin 🙂
The weather was perfectly clear when Riman left the store, the heavy plastic bags cutting into her thin fingers. Suddenly... day turned to dusk after she met her elderly neighbor who was asking about her well-being. She raised her head toward the sky, and there were black clouds stretching like tense fingers touching the rooftops of houses.
"But... how? The sun was shining brightly just moments ago..." she whispered, feeling a strange coldness creeping into her bones. Her hands trembled and one of the bags fell, spilling milk onto the sidewalk, white on black, like a silent scream.
Then she saw them.
All passersby had two shadows:
- A normal shadow beneath their feet
- And another dark shadow standing behind them as if toying with them
Riman began to shake. She saw a little boy playing with a ball nearby. His innocent laugh cut through the silence of terror. She tried to shout at him but her voice was trapped in her throat. Then...
it exploded
It wasn't an ordinary explosion. His small body vaporized into red mist, like a water balloon bursting under the sun. The dark shadow behind him suddenly revealed a terrifying laughing mouth, then began licking the blood from the air with what looked like soft tongues.
"This... this is impossible..."
But the terror didn't end.
The black clouds started moving, and with each movement:
- An old man melted like wax
- A young woman flipped upside down while her bones broke from within
- Two children playing fused together as if their bodies had melted and dissolved
She ran.
The shopping bags flew behind her. She heard explosion sounds, screams, then... laughter? Yes, there was wild laughter mixed with death sounds.
"Mama... I want Mama..."
But the image of her mother in her mind froze her blood more than the scene around her:
"If you were a normal child, I wouldn't punish you this way!"
"Look at your brother... why can't you be like him?"
She almost stopped. Death surrounded her... but she continued due to the instinct that demands not giving up.
"No... I can't give up. I don't want to die!"
The sewer suddenly appeared in front of her. She slipped inside, her ankle dislocating in pain. Darkness swallowed her.
A frightening silence.
She turned around...
The shadows stopped at the entrance, as if afraid of something inside the tunnel.
"Am I safe here?"
"I wish I brought a pen so I wouldn't end up like this, at least Fox was with me to heal me quickly."
She sat crying in the darkness, her body trembling like a fall leaf. She tried to grab her phone, but her frozen fingers couldn't press the numbers.
"The police... they won't believe me. They never believed me before, why now?"
Memories of the past returned like a knife:
- The school security officer laughed when she told him about the shadows she saw behind everyone who died after seeing them
- Her mother screamed at her: "Stop with your embarrassing lies!"
"You're a disgrace to the family."
"You're absolutely crazy!"
Deep in the dark tunnel, while her blood mixed with sewage water due to injuries from falling
"I must get out and return"
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Riman emerged from the sewer exhausted. The air was heavy with the smell of death, and the streets she had known her whole life felt unfamiliar to her. Body parts of corpses scattered here and there, some still warm, as if their souls had just left them.
"There's no choice but to reach home... there's no choice..."
"I must check on my family, maybe something bad happened to them."
She ran with all the strength she had left, her feet bleeding, her eyes tearing up from pain and fear. But what scared her more than the corpses was that eerie silence. She no longer heard explosion sounds, nor even the cries of the dying. Only the sound of her ragged breathing, as if the entire city had died, leaving her as the only one still alive.
"It's impossible... my family..."
Finally, she arrived at their humble house. The door was slightly ajar, as if someone was waiting for her.
**She entered.**
She found her mother sitting in a corner of the room, knitting a pink dress for her little daughter Sarah, who was swaying happily, seemingly unaware of the world outside the walls.
"Will Sarah like this dress, dear?"
The protagonist was so happy that she began to cry.
**Riman** (her voice trembling): "M... Mom..."
Her mother lifted her head coldly, looking at her as if she were an annoying insect crawling into her home.
Mother: "Finally! Did you bring your sister's clothes?"
**Riman** (catching her breath): "Something happened on the way, I couldn't—"
Mother (coldly interrupting): "I don't care! Just answer me simply: yes or no?"
Riman (curling up): "No... no, Mom."
Mother (sighing disdainfully): "Alright, go take a shower. Your smell is unpleasant."
"It seems I'm the one in the wrong; I shouldn't have trusted you. You'll remain useless."
That was like a knife piercing her heart, yet her mother didn't care about what happened to her, unlike accusing her of neglect. She withdrew, despair tearing her apart.
"Yes, Mom."
At that moment, Sarah came down the stairs, her thick blonde hair swaying like a golden crown. She looked at Riman with clear disgust.
Sarah: "Mom, why is this pig still here? Her smell is nauseating!"
Mother (with a teasing tone): "Let her go take a bath. The place smells awful since she came in."
Riman went upstairs, her legs hurting from repeated falls. In the middle of the stairs, she bumped into her brother Khalid, who was about to leave.
Khalid (suddenly stopping, looking at her with eyes full of contempt): "Watch it, you pest!"
He bit his lip and left quickly, as if merely being near her tainted him.
She heard him whispering to his friends on the phone:
"Bring me the best kind of drugs... I can't handle this life with this family!"
"Yes, but do you have money?"
"Of course, how could I not? I stole money from Dad a few days ago."
Riman was shocked and was about to speak to him, but he pulled his hand back.
"He thinks I'm crazy; my words are useless to him."
He left angrily, and when he reached the doorstep, he smashed the glass outside.
"Why didn't you talk to me or advise me? I thought you loved me."
"I just wanted you to hear that so you would come and talk to me, even if it's just one word."
Suddenly, their father was very happy on a main street.
"I'll cross from the other side; I don't want to see him."
Riman closed the bathroom door behind her, her hands trembling as she filled the tub with cold water. She fell suddenly, her clothes soaking completely, but she didn't care. She sat under the water, barely conscious from her mother's words.
"I know you think I'm crazy, but this is too much."
And with empty eyes, as if she didn't want to live.
"I expected everyone to look at me this way... but you, Mom, I never expected you to be like this."
Downstairs, Sarah complained to her mother:
"Are you bringing me the dress I asked for? That pig ruined my chance!"
Mother (feigning kindness): "Don't worry, darling, we'll buy it tomorrow."
Sarah (angrily): "But my party is tonight! I want to hit her now!"
Mother (lightly laughing): "Do as you please."
"Don't just kill her."
Sarah (laughing): "Of course, Mom, I'll be obedient."
Her mother kissed her forehead with a tenderness Riman had never known.
Under the cold water, Riman choked on her tears.
