Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Infant of Dragon Valley

On the vast Douluo Continent, there lay an uncharted valley.

Above, the sky drifted with multicolored clouds; below, colossal dragon skeletons stood tall and solemn. Even though they were nothing but bones, they still radiated an ancient majesty, as though their noble, domineering aura had endured since time immemorial.

Suddenly—

"Waaah… waaah!"

The silence of the valley was broken by the piercing cry of an infant. From its source, a dazzling beam of nine-colored light burst into the heavens.

The entire valley trembled.

Countless clouds surged toward the radiance—red, yellow, green, blue, black, gold, and more—colliding in a torrent of color. The dragon skeletons, once silent sentinels, seemed to stir back to life. Deep, resonant dragon roars echoed across the valley, shaking heaven and earth.

And in the deepest recesses of the valley, another nine-colored brilliance erupted, answering the first.

Two beams of rainbow light grew brighter, pulsing as if in resonance.

No one knew how long it lasted before a strange humming sound split the air.

Cracks spiderwebbed across the sky above the valley, forming a pitch-black rift. From within, a silver glow emerged, and a figure stepped into the world.

She stood in the void, her silver gown flowing like moonlight. A silver veil concealed her features, while long silver-white hair cascaded down her waist.

Her violet eyes swept across the turbulent valley, finally resting on the swirling sea of multicolored clouds. There—within the blaze of nine-colored light—she saw something that made her breath catch.

Her pupils trembled. Shock flickered in her gaze.

She raised a flawless jade hand and gently waved it. Instantly, the radiant light collapsed into her palm, revealing a tiny infant—barely a month old.

For a heartbeat, her eyes wavered between disbelief and joy. Beneath the veil, her face paled as she sensed the familiar yet overwhelmingly powerful aura within the child.

She turned sharply, gazing deep into the valley where the second beam of multicolored light still shone. Her eyes hardened, sorrow mingling with hatred.

Clutching the infant tightly to her chest, she stepped back into the rift—and vanished.

The valley, once a storm of chaos, gradually fell silent once more.

Far away, in a remote corner of the Heavenly Soul Empire, near the Great Star Dou Forest, lay a small town. Unlike bustling metropolises, it was humble—home mostly to commoners, with only a handful of nobles.

In the northwest district of the town stood rows of modest houses. Down a narrow alley, heavy panting broke the stillness.

"Huff… huff…"

A boy, no more than six years old, staggered forward. His body was small and thin, yet in his arms he carried a massive iron cauldron that even grown men could not lift. Step by step, he pressed onward, his tiny feet leaving deep imprints in the earth.

"Squeak—bang!"

The boy kicked open a courtyard gate, the wooden door slamming hard against the wall. He hefted the cauldron inside and dropped it onto the ground with a thunderous crash, as though the very earth trembled beneath its weight.

"I'm so tired…"

The boy—Su Yu—wiped sweat from his brow, his face flushed red. The cauldron weighed well over a thousand pounds. Even with his unnatural strength, running several laps while carrying it had drained him completely.

"Let's wash up first. Uncle Tian and Aunt Bi will be here soon," he muttered, shuffling into the house on short legs.

He boiled a kettle of water, bathed in warmth, then rinsed himself with a splash of cold water, sighing in relief. After changing into clean clothes, he felt refreshed.

Chewing on a piece of fruit, Su Yu leaned against the doorway, his large dark eyes gleaming. Despite his age, they carried a calmness and wisdom far too mature for a six-year-old.

"Six years… It's already been six years since I came to the Douluo Continent," he thought bitterly.

He was no ordinary child—he was a traveler from another world.

This was a land where the strong ruled absolutely. The weak could only crawl, living at the mercy of others. Without overwhelming power, no one could control their fate.

"The worst part… this is the Douluo II era. If it were the first era, perhaps things would be easier," Su Yu sighed.

In this era, demons and monsters roamed unchecked. Even the Divine Kings reigned above all, deciding the destiny of countless beings. Though the first era was chaotic as well, it lacked the rampant evil spirit masters that plagued this one, offering at least some measure of safety.

Here, to succeed without a powerful background was nearly impossible. For commoners, the road was even harsher than ten thousand years ago.

"Uncle Tian will take me to awaken my Martial Soul soon… but as a traveler, do I even have one?"

Worry flickered in his gaze.

On the Douluo Continent, everyone possessed a Martial Soul. Talent and soul power might differ, but none were born without one. Yet Su Yu could not shake his fear.

Without a Martial Soul, how could he survive in a world where Martial Souls defined status and strength?

Would he rely on his monstrous innate strength? Perhaps—but even he knew brute force alone was not enough.

Yes, he was strong. Stronger than most adults. But strength was not the same as combat power. Against a true Soul Master—or even a skilled Great Soul Master—he would still be crushed.

After all, raw strength without technique was nothing.
