Chapter 1 - Every Day Waiting for Iron Man's Kidnapping

Lin Feng glanced at the giant image of Tony Stark displayed between the skyscrapers, still finding it hard to believe how suddenly everything had changed.

He had originally been just an ordinary young man on Earth. After watching Captain Marvel 2 and feeling like he'd wasted his money, the more he thought about it, the angrier he got. He'd then posted a lengthy rant online, criticizing the movie's terrible plot.

Then, when he woke up, he was in a Marvel world.

In this world, he was a typical third-generation Chinese immigrant. His ancestors had emigrated from New China when it was founded. Through the efforts of two generations, they had successfully accumulated a fortune of over a hundred million dollars, though most of it was in real estate. His cash flow was only around ten million dollars.

But he was still a rich third-generation heir!

This should have been a perfect starting hand. After all, in his previous life, he was just an ordinary middle-class kid. His family wasn't poor, but they definitely weren't rich either. His parents had never deprived him of food or drink, but that was a far cry from his current wealth.

But the problem was, where was he?

He was in the Marvel universe. The early threats, like the Hulk and Thor, weren't that big a deal. Even the first phase's big boss, Thanos, only wanted to eliminate half the life in the entire universe. It sounded terrifying, but after the concept of the Time Variance Authority was introduced, entire timelines could disappear at any moment. That made Thanos look like a small fry.

In other words, if he wasn't careful, Lin Feng could vanish without knowing it, erased from existence at the source.

Faced with events from superhero movies like Thor and the Hulk, he could at least run faster, maybe get out of New York. But how could he dodge a snap that wiped out half the universe, or the erasure of an entire timeline?

So, even though he'd transmigrated into a wealthy third-generation scion this time, Lin Feng wasn't exactly thrilled.

The only thing to be thankful for was that those earth-shattering events were still years away. Even the first wave of Avengers 1's plot was in 2012. Right now, it was only 2008, and even Tony Stark's destined kidnapping hadn't happened yet.

But it was coming soon, he figured. Once Tony Stark was kidnapped, Stark Industries' stock would plummet. That would be his chance to buy low.

In this life, Lin Feng owned an apartment and a million dollars in cash. This was his family's way of letting him practice and start his own business. Working for someone else was out of the question.

If his family had just worked a regular job, how could they have possibly accumulated a fortune worth hundreds of millions of dollars?

Especially when Tony Stark abandoned the military industrial sector, Stark Industries' stock would plummet. At that time, he could buy at a low price and easily multiply his investment several times over, maybe even tenfold.

That's why Americans loved playing the financial game. If they just built factories and focused on production, it would take forever to go from a million dollars to ten million.

But this kind of economy was ultimately a hollow shell, as the extent of America's decline in later generations showed. It was incredibly fast!

But all of that didn't matter to Lin Feng. He had money. He could always take the money back to New China, or go to another country. And in the future, maybe the entire timeline would be erased anyway. Trying hard would be completely pointless. Might as well take it easy.

However, in a place unknown to Lin Feng, in Stark Tower, Tony Stark was currently perusing a diary in front of him.

Lin Feng's Diary (Tony Stark Copy).

He had already flipped through this diary countless times in the past few days, which was quite unusual for him, as he usually had little patience for anything outside of scientific research. It was because the content written within truly concerned him!

[May 1st, Weather, Sunny Waiting for Tony Stark to be kidnapped, Day 1!]

[May 2nd, Weather, Cloudy Waiting for Tony Stark to be kidnapped, Day 2!]

[May 3rd, Weather, Sunny Waiting for Tony Stark to be kidnapped, Day 3. Saw Tony Stark on the news today, it felt like a lifetime ago, like seeing a younger version of Robert Downey Jr.!]

[May 4th, Weather, Sunny Feeling a bit uneasy, this damn, dangerous world! If only there was a progress bar, at least I could check Tony Stark's progress towards becoming Iron Man!]

[May 5th, Weather, Cloudy Stark Industries' stock is really ridiculously high. For an industrial group, it's a bit too high, almost on par with those internet companies. But there's nothing I can do, who made their helmsman Tony Stark? Without Tony Stark, although Stark Industries wouldn't be worthless, it would still decline significantly.]

[However, this is a good opportunity. Once the news of Tony Stark's disappearance comes out, I can consider making a move. When he shuts down Stark Industries' weapons division and the stock price plummets, that's the perfect time to strike!]

[May 6th, Weather: Sunny I saw that playboy again in the news. As expected, with his personality, he can't stand a day without being in the news. But this also helps me determine whether or not he's been kidnapped in Afghanistan.]

Currently, only these few days of diary entries have been recorded. The content of each day's entry isn't long, but for Tony Stark, it's undoubtedly a huge shockwave.

With his scientific background, he naturally doesn't believe in the supernatural. If he'd found this thing under normal circumstances, he probably wouldn't even glance at it, thinking it was just some con artist trying to swindle him.

He never believed in such unfettered things!

But this diary fell from the sky, directly in front of him, which was another matter entirely.

That day, in his office, he had just finished dealing with the company's affairs and was planning to sneak away, without telling Pepper Potts, to go out with a cover girl. Who knew, it just appeared out of thin air right in front of him, and fell onto his desk.

Afterward, he had Jarvis scan it inside and out, confirming there were no hidden mechanisms. For example, it wasn't hidden in a secret compartment in the ceiling and then dropped down.

Everything was normal!

Even more absurdly, the content of this diary would automatically update at a certain time each day, and sometimes he could even see it with his own eyes, the words suddenly appearing right before him.

I've been recovering for quite a while now. My gallbladder is safe, but everything else will take time. I'm starting a new book before the year ends to get back into the swing of things – I'm back!

Please support me during this new book!
