Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 "Before the Beginning"

In the third dimension where humans dwell...

There was once no time,

No matter,

No laws.

There was, in the truest sense of the word, only nothingness.

Silent. Cold. An endless void.

But that was only within the universe perceivable by humans.

For beyond the limits of the human mind...

Countless dimensions yet to exist,

Infinite realities yet to be written,

Were writhing within the emptiness.

And in that absolute beginning, when none of those realities had yet come to be,

In the highest layers of the upper dimensions,

A being drifted—one of pure chaos and destruction:

The Thing.

It had no form.

No body.

Not even a name.

But every particle of it was chaos itself.

And it fed solely on destruction and instability.

Over time, the chaotic energy upon which its existence depended began to fade.

The upper dimensions had been organized.

Chaos had fallen silent; universes had stabilized.

The Thing was starving.

And hunger… for a being like that… was a fate worse than death.

With the last of its strength, it sealed itself within a sphere.

And with its final breath, it exhaled into it.

What humans now call the Big Bang

Was merely the echo of its desperate scream.

The universe was born.

But in the beginning, there were no physical laws,

No linear time,

No order.

Celestial bodies were scattered chaotically; stars collided—

Everything drifted in uncertainty.

Just as The Thing desired:

Perfect chaos.

For centuries, it fed off this primitive disorder.

But it didn't go unnoticed for long.

Older, far greater beings that existed within the upper dimensions

Saw the spread of this newborn chaos.

And they made a decision.

The laws of physics were imposed.

The chains of time were forged.

And order struck down upon that perfect chaos like a divine seal.

Now, stars moved with precision,

Planets rotated in fixed orbits.

Life began to emerge.

But all within order...

The Thing was starving again.

Its energy was fading once more.

This time, it had only one hope for survival:

To find a new form of life.

For hundreds of millions of years, it drifted from planet to planet.

It watched, observed…

But no creature was intelligent enough,

Passionate enough,

Conflicted enough to feed its essence.

Until one day…

It arrived at a star system.

A blue planet, orbiting a sun, caught its attention:

Earth.

The descent was difficult.

Its energy was nearly depleted.

The heat of the surface, the vibration of the atmosphere, and the chaos of life overwhelmed it.

But it still lived.

The first place it landed was what is now Egypt.

Sandstorms stretched beyond sight.

Snakes, scorpions, the burning heat and desolation danced together in a brutal harmony.

On the ground, two creatures were locked in a deadly battle:

A desert fox and a snake.

The snake was winning.

The fox collapsed.

Not a trace of strength remained in its body.

Just as the snake struck for the final blow...

The Thing intervened—at atomic speed.

The snake was torn apart, disintegrating into dust before the eye could register it.

For the first time, it had intervened in the natural order.

And at that moment...

It was filled with energy once again.

Then it looked down at the exhausted fox.

It healed it.

Summoned liters of water from beneath the earth.

Once more, it disrupted nature's fate.

And that second intervention

Almost fully restored its former power.

Then, in the distance, a sound rose.

The sands trembled—footsteps approached.

Half-naked, primitive humans were running toward the water.

The Thing quickly hid in the water.

Silently...

It watched.

The humans communicated.

With gestures, voices, eyes, body language...

Constant interaction.

No other species it had seen was this intense, this complex, this passionate.

There were emotions.

Conflict.

Relationships.

And most importantly: Choice.

The Thing was captivated.

It followed them for days.

Studied their minds.

Observed their behavior.

And then...

Its own being began to change.

Its mind synchronized with theirs.

Its body began to resemble theirs.

And for the first time...

It took shape.

It had been born in human form.

But the most striking change was this:

It was no longer just seeing—

It was feeling.

It could now perceive time.

Pain, fear, love...

Everything.

It was no longer just an observer.

Now, it was human.

Or at least, it looked like one...
