Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Abandoned Loner

It was just a normal day in my life.

I woke up in the morning, washed my face, and tied up my long black hair. I looked at myself in the mirror—my black eyes looked good, as usual, though I had to wear glasses because my eyesight was weak.

I made breakfast, ate it, put on my school uniform, and left.

No one to say goodbye to. Just the usual silence. I opened the door and stepped outside.

"Hmmm, what a nice day! I wonder if something special will happen today!" I said aloud, walking toward the bus station.

I took the bus and eventually arrived at the school gate. Students were pouring in one after another.

I walked into my classroom and took my seat.

Everyone else was chatting with their friends, but I sat alone—I didn't have many friends.

Welp, I'm a loner, after all.

The bell rang a few minutes later. One by one, the students entered the classroom. The room buzzed with chatter and laughter.

And there I was, staring silently out the window.

"It's getting late… I wonder where the teacher is…" I mumbled.

Then I noticed something strange.

Besides the classroom noise… everything else was quiet. Unnaturally quiet.

No birds.

No traffic.

Not even the rustling of leaves.

I raised my head slowly, eyes narrowing as I looked outside.

A single leaf was falling from a tree—

No.

Frozen in mid-air.

My eyes widened in disbelief.

Before I could process it—

BAM!

The classroom door slammed open with a deafening crash, like someone had kicked it in with full force.

Everyone went dead silent, heads snapping toward the entrance.

I turned too, confused.

Then, in an instant—

A blinding white light engulfed the entire classroom.

People screamed.

I shut my eyes instinctively.

The light felt warm… overwhelming… surreal.

When it faded and I opened my eyes—

My breath caught.

Bright white marble. Golden pillars that seemed to stretch into infinity.

An ethereal glow bathed the enormous hall, making it feel more like a sacred temple than a room. It wasn't just beautiful.

It was divine.

All around me, my classmates were waking up—some sitting up slowly, others standing in shock, looking around with wide eyes.

"Where… are we?"

"Is this a dream…?"

"I swear we were just in the classroom…"

My heart pounded in my chest.

That flash of light. That strange silence.

None of it made sense.

Then the air shifted.

A breeze brushed against my face, even though there were no windows.

Light gathered in the center of the room like dust caught in sunlight, swirling and coalescing.

And then—

She appeared.

Floating above the ground was a woman of impossible beauty.

Long silver hair cascaded like liquid moonlight behind her. Her golden eyes glowed with otherworldly light. A faint halo flickered above her head, and her gown shimmered with threads of silver and white, as if it were woven from the stars themselves.

I couldn't look away.

Her presence demanded reverence.

She was beautiful—yes—but more than that, she felt... sacred.

"I welcome you, young ones from another world," she said, her voice like wind chimes in a breeze.

It wasn't loud. But it echoed through the hall, ringing in my bones.

"You have been summoned to aid the people of my world."

We all stared.

Frozen.

A few whispered behind me.

"Is this… an isekai?"

"I am Althea, a goddess," she continued. "My world teeters on the brink of ruin. The Demon Lord has returned, and darkness spreads. My people cannot stop this evil alone. So, I have summoned you—heroes from another world."

Some of the boys exchanged glances. One raised his hand hesitantly.

"Heroes? Us? What is this, a game?"

"I understand your doubt," the goddess said calmly. "That is why I will show you."

She raised her hand.

Suddenly, the air tore open.

The sound was awful—like ripping flesh or tearing metal.

From the rift… something slithered out.

Something monstrous.

It hit the marble floor with a sickening splat.

A grotesque, frog-like beast the size of a man. Its slimy green skin pulsed as if alive, and two horrific heads jutted from its body, eyes bulging, teeth jagged.

The stench was unbearable—like rotting meat mixed with sewage.

Screams erupted.

"What the hell is that?!"

"Get it away!"

One guy tripped trying to back away. A girl collapsed in fright.

The monster croaked—and leapt.

But it never reached us.

BZZZT!

A golden beam of light exploded from Althea's hand.

It struck the creature mid-air. The demon froze, screeched, then shattered—

Into thousands of glowing fragments that drifted upward like dust in the wind.

Gone.

Silence returned.

"Light magic," Althea said gently. "The power once wielded by the heroes of legend."

The room remained hushed, stunned by the display.

Some students looked at their hands, hoping they could do the same. Others looked sick.

I… didn't know what to feel.

Fear? Awe? Confusion?

"Monsters like that roam my world," she continued. "Corrupted beasts under the Demon Lord's control. But within each of you lies potential. Magic—mana. I shall now awaken it."

She raised both hands.

"If you possess mana, your bodies will respond to my spell. You will glow."

My breath caught.

Magic? Mana?

Could this really be happening?

"Close your eyes," she said softly. "Feel the magic within you."

Slowly, hesitantly, we obeyed.

I shut my eyes.

A low hum vibrated through the space. The air pulsed. Warmth brushed against my skin.

Then—gasps.

I peeked.

Everyone was glowing.

Blue. Red. Green. Gold.

Soft auras surrounded them, each color unique.

The room shimmered like a field of stars.

And me?

I looked down.

My hands.

Nothing.

No light. No aura. No warmth.

Just… me.

I opened my eyes fully.

Still nothing.

"Open your eyes," Althea said.

The others did, and joy filled the room.

"I'm glowing!"

"No way! I've got red magic!"

Excitement buzzed through the group.

But I stood there, cold. Numb.

The goddess smiled at the others.

"You will be taken to the Starler Kingdom. There, the king awaits. Mages will train you. Guide you. You will become our saviors."

The goddess raised her hands once more, golden light spiraling around her fingertips as she began to chant.

"O sacred light that bridges worlds, carry these chosen across the veil. Deliver them into destiny…"

A massive magic circle bloomed beneath our feet. Runes spun, glowing bright.

One by one, the others vanished—transformed into streams of light, disappearing.

And then—

Silence.

I was the only one left.

"…What?" I whispered.

Althea turned toward me. Her face unreadable.

I stepped forward. "I—I don't understand. Did something go wrong…?"

Her expression twisted.

A sneer.

"Tch. A magicless one. How irritating."

What?

"What… did you say?"

She looked at me for a long moment. Then… something changed.

Her lips curled.

Not in concern, or sympathy.

But in annoyance.

"Tch," she clicked her tongue sharply. "Great. I didn't realize one of you was magicless."

What?

"What…?" I repeated, my voice barely above a whisper.

She descended from her platform, her once-gentle aura flickering with something darker, colder. Her eyes narrowed as she looked down at me—not like I was someone to be saved.

But like I was garbage.

"A damn manaless brat. Of course I'd get a defective one," she muttered with a scowl, brushing a strand of silver hair behind her ear with exaggerated irritation.

I froze. My lips parted, but no words came out.

This was the same goddess who spoke like a saint moments ago?

"I… I don't understand," I managed to say finally, trying to keep my voice steady. "What do you mean, magicless? Is there a mistake?"

She laughed.

A short, cruel laugh.

"Don't play dumb. You saw it yourself. You didn't glow. No magic. No mana. You're completely worthless to me."

Her words hit me like a slap.

"Wait," I said, my voice cracking, "If I don't have magic… can't you at least send me back home?"

Her golden eyes narrowed even more. "Send you back?" She scoffed. "What part of 'summon' do you not understand? This is a one-way ritual. I can bring things here. Not send them away."

I stared at her, numb. "Then… what happens to me?"

She smirked.

"Oh, I don't care. Honestly? I'll just throw you somewhere far from the capital. Maybe you'll starve. Maybe monsters will eat you. Either way, not my problem."

My chest tightened. I could barely breathe. "You're… you're serious?"

Her voice dropped into a mocking, singsong tone. "Dead serious, sweetie~."

I took a shaky step backward. "Why? Why are you doing this? You said you needed help!"

"And you're no help," she snapped, her tone suddenly venomous. "You think I give a damn about some powerless baggage? I needed heroes. Not dead weight."

"I—"

"Shut up," she growled, raising her hand.

I flinched.

Light surged around her palm again, but this time it wasn't warm. It was sharp, cutting, electric.

Her hand thrust forward and a violent pulse of light slammed into my chest.

My body began to glow—but not like the others. This light hurt. It seared through my skin, stabbing into my bones like fire made of knives.

"Aaa—AGHH!"

I fell to my knees, gasping.

She just watched, face blank and annoyed. Like I was just a chore.

"I hope you just die out there, you useless bitch," she spat.

Then the magic swallowed me whole.

And I vanished.

Evething went dark... silent...then in that silence i heard a one drop of water hitting the ground,

I slowly opened my eyes and the first thing i saw was blur...i was still wearing my glasses but still i saw things blur, i slowly reached my hand up to my face and slowly take off the glasses, then i saw clearly..a roof made out of dark stone and there were fungi and grass all over it.

I slowly stand up gripping my head in pain.

"where...am I.?" i asked in confusion.

I looked forward and saw i was in a dark cave filled with grass and the only light was the glowing ores in the wall giving faint light.

My eyes widened in shock as i looked around my sorrouding,

"where is this place!?"

Then i remember her... the goddess's words,

("Oh, I don't care. Honestly? I'll just throw you somewhere far from the capital")

My hands began to tremble.

I dropped to my knees, eyes wide with fear.

"That damn... bitch of a goddess…"

Tears welled up in my eyes. I crawled to a corner and hugged my knees to my chest.

"Damn it… damn it… damn it…"

Sobs escaped me. My voice shook.

"I don't want to die…"

[My name is Kire Sani… and I was abandoned by the goddess and left to die.

This is my story.]
