Simon screamed out in his mind as he smashed his scooter into the vicinity of Dreamway high school.
Dreamway high school was under a terrorist attack and his sister was among the students that were still inside the building. He had to step into the school premises when he saw his sister wasn't among those that have been rescued.
He heard it was a total mess inside but the hell would he sit down and do nothing while his sister was going through the most hellish experience of her life.
He had to go rescue her himself.
Simon reached the main entrance of the school building, he jumped out of his scooter and rushed to the inside. The top of the building was in flames which was causing the whole surrounding to be covered with smoke, but that didn't stop Simon from seeing his path clearly.
He entered the school building and immediately headed to his sister's classroom. He heard from one of her friends that she was in the classroom, and he just hoped that she was there, otherwise he would have to search the entire school and he wouldn't leave until he finds her.
Simon got to a stairway and hurriedly climbed it in a flash. As soon as he made it to the top, he started hearing the sounds of the heavy fight that was happening in the premises.
According to the security men outside, they were some C class heroes currently battling the terrorists, and they urged everyone to stay calm.
He knew for sure not to put his faith on a C class hero.
Hearing the clashing sounds in the premises, he could tell that the C class heroes still haven't been able to neutralise the goddamn barbarians.
Regardless of that, he would've still come into the school premises even if he was told an S class hero was the one doing the battling.
His sister was the only thing he had left in this world, he wouldn't leave her safety in the hands of a stranger!
Simon arrived at the entrance of the room the fighting sound was coming from, and the scene before him caused him to freeze on the spot.
The ceiling in the room was torn into two and the chairs were scattered into different corners. Several human parts were scattered all over the place and three heroes could be seen brutally massacred on the floor.
They were dead!
Simon's breath froze at that moment and his heart started pounding heavily. It wasn't everyday that they got to hear that a hero was killed in action, and that was because the media ensures those kinds of details don't leak out to the normal citizens like them. He knew something like that happens in every casualty but he also had the ideology that heroes were invincible!
BAM!
The sound of the room vibrated as the only hero remaining collided his fist with the only villain in the room.
Simon managed to flip out of his shock state at that moment. With what he was seeing, the villain was the person responsible for the death of the three heroes on the floor and he had also injured the hero he was currently fighting. The villain had been able to do all of this without a single scratch on his body.
'How could a villain be this strong!'
Simon couldn't help but scream out in his mind. He cleared his thoughts away and quickly scanned the whole room. He had to find his sister and get out immediately. It was dangerous here.
Too dangerous for somebody like him.
Simon's eyes drifted around the room and he found his sister hiding at a corner behind the hero in the room.
"Emily!!!"
Simon subconsciously screamed out as he surged forward to his sister. Simon screamed immediately caught the attention of the hero and the villain.
The hero's expression darkened at once when he saw another person was coming into the scene.
"What are you doing!! Stay back!!!....."
The hero yelled at Simon but before he could finish his words, the villain suddenly appeared inches away from him.
"I wouldn't take my eyes off me if I were you."
The moment he said those words. He slammed the hero in the jaws and the force smashed the hero to the ceiling.
The impact vibrated the broken ceiling vigorously, and the hero got hanged in it, like a man who committed suicide.
At that moment, Simon was already close to his sister.
"Emily!"
Simon said as he rushed to embrace her among the people that were hiding at the corner. Emily's eyes were completely wet as Simon squatted to hug her. She cried out without knowing what to say. Simon also didn't know what to say so he held his sister tightly in his embrace.
Seeing the last hero had been defeated. The people hiding at the corner decided to run away. Some of them rushed to the villain's direction to plead for mercy while others thought of jumping down from the window, but as they made the movement, a sharp object that looked like knives sprang out of the villain's body and it rampaged all of them to the ground.
"Pathetic! Useless commoners."
The villain said as he stared at the dead bodies on the floor.
"I think this should be enough to make a statement that a new god has arrived."
He voiced out with a big smile but his smile slowly faded away when he saw two people were still alive. It wouldn't be a groundbreaking news if the reporters were to say two people survived the incident. Everybody needed to die in order for this to make a national topic in the media.
With that knowledge the villain moved his hands to point at Simon and his sister.
Simon was covering his sister in his embrace. Without looking, he could tell that everyone was dead and the villain was currently looking at them. His whole body was shaking at this moment, but his sister's condition was even worse, she couldn't hold herself as she was crying out in fear.
The scene caused Simon to remember the bomb blast that happened a few years ago, at a shopping mall where he lost both of his parents.
They were out already, and they were taking pictures at the entrance of the large shopping mall.
His parents took photos of him and his sister, and they were about to leave the premises, but he said he wanted to take photos of his parents together, more like to do the same thing they did for them.
He just wanted to show them that he knew how to handle the camera too.
Little did he know that a bomb was ticking inside the shopping mall.
The moment his parents stood close to the entrance of the shopping mall was when the blast happened. The glass doors shattered to pieces and it... it... it caused his parents death.
That day still resurfaces freshly in Simon's mind, and he felt he ripped Emily off parental love.
Since then he had been trying to be there for Emily, it was so unfortunate that she had to experience this as well.
That she had to watch her only brother die as well.
Simon held Emily more tightly like he wasn't planning to let her go, then he whispered in her eyes.
"I will distract him while you make a run for it."
Emily's eyes widened in shock when she heard that. Before she could say anything, Simon stood up at once.
"Emily, I am counting on you! Don't let my sacrifice go to waste!
Move your legs the moment I attack him!"
Simon immediately turned to face the villain.
"I will be watching you on the other side."
He silently voiced out to Emily at that moment.
The motion caused Emily's eyes to be crowded with tears. She didn't want to lose her brother, but before she could say anything, Simon had already turned towards the villain.
Emily raised her hands to try to stop him, but the moment she did, Simon's whole body was dismembered by dozens of blades.
Bang.
He fell helplessly to the ground in front of her.
"That makes it one to go."
The villain said as he approached Emily.
