Synopsis
Battle Through the Heavens was my first donghua and also my first novel, and because of that it holds a very special place in my heart. Xiao Yan, his journey, his struggles, and his growth are things no one can truly replace, and I know that the original story is already complete in its own way. Still, as a fan, I often imagined a different path—one where family emotions play a stronger role, where bonds, loss, and protection become as important as power itself. This idea is not meant to change Xiao Yan or deny the original story. Instead, it is a personal re-imagining inspired by my own thoughts and feelings as a reader. I was especially inspired by the fanfic BTTH: Thunder Shattered by Yi Pin Ru Xi Yang Yang. I am not trying to copy it directly, but rather use it as a foundation and modify the story according to my own imagination—focusing on a more powerful background, deeper family relationships, and emotional growth alongside cultivation. I am not a professional writer, and this is not something I am doing for fame or recognition. This story is purely for my own satisfaction and love for BTTH. If anyone has thoughts, ideas, or suggestions, I am open to them, and I will gladly shape the story in a better way.

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Xiao Tian

Dou Qi Continent, Jia Ma Empire, Wu Tan City.

On the grassy cliff behind the Xiao Family's rear mountain, a tall, imposing youth stood with his hands clasped behind his back. He was a full 190 centimeters tall, and his perfectly proportioned body looked as if it had been carved from white jade. His skin was so fair that it was almost snow-white, and it glowed faintly in the twilight. Golden hair fell down his back like a waterfall of molten sunlight, and a pair of golden eyes shone with an otherworldly brilliance. His features seemed sculpted by the heavens themselves: sharp, sword-like eyebrows, a high-bridged nose, and lips with a natural, captivating charm. Even standing perfectly still, he radiated an aura that made it impossible for any girl to look away. Nobody who had seen him could claim to have ever beheld a more handsome man.

He gazed at the distant twilight sky and murmured, "I never thought I would actually transmigrate into Xiao Yan's Dou Qi Continent... Fourteen and a half years have already passed. The main story is about to begin."

This youth was Xiao Tian, Xiao Yan's twin brother.

Although they were twins, their faces could not have been more different. Xiao Yan looked ordinary and youthful, while Xiao Tian looked like a celestial being who had descended to the mortal world. Like Xiao Yan, he had come from a certain blue planet. In the womb, he had used his own strength to fight his way out half an hour before his little brother, and so he had secured the position of elder twin.

After transmigrating, Xiao Tian had patiently waited for the standard reward of every transmigrator: a powerful cheat ability that would let him roam the world freely and happily. Reality, however, had slapped him hard. For twelve long years, no system appeared.

Then, two and a half years ago, his cheat ability finally arrived... or so he thought.

The damned thing had been stuck at 99.99 percent for the entire two and a half years.

Xiao Tian had nearly gone mad wondering what he had done in his past life to deserve such torture.

A soft rustle came from the forest behind him.

Without turning around, he said calmly, "Since you are already here, girl, come out."

"Brother Xiao Tian."

A gentle, pleasant voice answered him, and a girl in a golden dress stepped gracefully out of the trees. Her aura was cool and ethereal, like a green lotus blooming in clear water. Though she was still young, her beauty was already breathtaking, and it hinted at the devastating charm she would possess in the future.

Looking at Xiao Xun'er beside him, Xiao Tian's lips curled into a smile. Even a girl as stunning as she was often found her gaze lingering on his golden eyes and flawless features a moment longer than necessary.

Back when he still had no system, he had decided to hold on to the thickest thigh in the Xiao Family. Between his little brother Xiao Yan and Xiao Xun'er, he had chosen the latter without hesitation.

She was wealthy, beautiful, and backed by a powerful family, and she was also his childhood sweetheart. Who would not want such an easy life?

Of course, he did not use Xiao Yan's methods to get close to her. In fact, when Xiao Yan once had a few "naughty thoughts" about Xun'er, Xiao Tian secretly reported him. That very night, Xiao Yan was hung from a tree and beaten black and blue. To this day, Xiao Yan did not know that his own elder brother was the culprit.

Hehe.

Xiao Tian could give up Elder Yao, the Burning Technique, and even the Heavenly Flames, but give up Xiao Xun'er? Absolutely not.

As for Yun Yun, Ya Fei, Xiao Yi Xian, and Queen Medusa... well, his little brother should simply concentrate on cultivating hard and keep women out of his heart. The Heavenly Flames would come to him naturally anyway.

Noticing Xiao Tian's stare, Xiao Xun'er's cheeks flushed slightly, and she pouted. "Brother Xiao Tian, you are being naughty again!"

"Xun'er, why did you come looking for me? Is something wrong?" Xiao Tian asked, snapping out of his thoughts.

"Brother Xiao Tian, tomorrow is the family test. I have already broken through to the ninth stage of Dou Zhi Qi," she said softly.

Xiao Tian extended his senses and found that her Dou Qi had indeed reached the ninth stage. He smiled warmly. "My Xun'er is truly a genius. You will shock those old elders tomorrow. Want to guess what realm I am at right now?"

Xiao Xun'er snorted cutely. "I won't guess. You must have already stepped into the Dou Practitioner realm, and I will find out tomorrow anyway. And who is 'your' Xun'er? I am not!"

Xiao Tian chuckled and stood up, gently taking her soft hand. Even that simple movement made his tall, perfectly built figure and flowing golden hair look all the more striking. "Then I won't tell you yet. Let's head back."

The girl did not resist. She let him lead her down the mountain path as naturally as flowing clouds and water.

After they returned to the Xiao Family grounds, the two parted at their respective courtyards. Xiao Tian's courtyard was right next to Xiao Yan's.

He glanced at his little brother's closed door and thought, Xiao Yan is probably still cultivating desperately with no progress... But his dark days are almost over. Soon, he will soar to the heavens.

In his own room, Xiao Tian sat cross-legged and cultivated for a while before washing up and going to bed.

Next door, Xiao Yan was still training bitterly.

The next morning, the moment Xiao Tian opened his courtyard gate, he saw a charming figure already waiting for him.

Xiao Xun'er wore a fitted light green outfit that perfectly accentuated her youthful figure, and she looked vibrant and full of life.

Under Xiao Tian's intense golden gaze, her face turned as red as a ripe apple. "Brother Xiao Tian... what are you looking at?"

"What am I looking at? Only Xun'er is here, so of course I am looking at you," Xiao Tian laughed, reaching out to ruffle her smooth hair gently. His tall, muscular frame and flawless white skin made even this casual gesture look like a painting.

"Hmph! I am ignoring you!"

"Haha~ Let's go. The family test is about to start."

Xiao Tian took her hand and walked toward the testing ground.

As they passed Xiao Yan's courtyard, the gate suddenly opened and Xiao Yan stepped out. "Brother Tian, Xun'er."

"Mm, Little Yan, perfect timing. I was just about to call you," Xiao Tian said with a smile. Standing beside his shorter, ordinary-looking twin made Xiao Tian's towering height, golden hair, and peerless handsomeness stand out even more.

"Brother Yan," Xun'er greeted softly from the side.

Xiao Yan sighed. "Ever since my talent began to decline, apart from Father, only you two still treat me the way you used to..."

Xiao Tian walked over and lightly slapped the back of Xiao Yan's head, hard enough to sting but not to hurt. He glanced meaningfully at the black ring on his little brother's finger and said, "What nonsense are you spouting? We are blood brothers, so there is no need for such words. Keep moving forward. 'The great roc rises with the wind in a single day and soars tens of thousands of miles.' Father and I have always believed that you will regain your talent and even surpass it."

Xiao Yan looked at his elder brother, who was walking hand in hand with Xun'er, with a mix of respect and slight fear. He still remembered how, when he was a toddler, his first word had been "Little Brother," which had earned him a beating. After that, he had never dared to call him anything but "Brother Tian."

Even during his lowest point, when everyone else had distanced themselves from him, Xiao Tian had never abandoned him.

"Little Yan, if you don't hurry up, we will be late!" Xiao Tian called back.

Xiao Yan quickly caught up.

The three of them entered the testing ground together, and the noisy field instantly fell silent. All eyes turned toward them, especially toward the impossibly tall, golden-haired, snow-skinned youth whose handsomeness left every girl nearby staring in a daze. None of them had ever seen a man so perfect.

Ignoring the gazes, the trio quietly walked to a large tree at the edge of the field. Xiao Tian and Xiao Yan leaned against its trunk, while Xiao Xun'er stood close to Xiao Tian, as if the whole world around them did not matter.

On the raised platform stood the Magic Testing Stone Tablet. A middle-aged examiner stepped forward and shouted:

"The test officially begins! Those whose names are called, please step forward!"

At that exact moment...

Ding!

"The gears of fate begin to turn. System loading complete! Host, please receive your wishes!"
