Boom
A catastrophic explosion ran through the surroundings, as stones and trees flew high in the air disintegrating into particles tinier than dust.
A mushroom shaped cloud of dust and debris came into existence as the ground cracked into bits under the enormous force of the blast.
A moment later, a huge circular shockwave rose fiercely and travelled tens of kilometres killing every single living being coming in its path.
It was as if the apocalypse had descended, as colossal explosions like these happened everywhere destroying everything in their path.
Though, just for a single instant as the dust and smoke cleared. Two faint silhouettes could be seen.
One was a man wrapped in sacred golden light, his whole presence radiating a holy aura akin to a deity. His pale blond hair whipped, as he stood confidently in the air.
There wasn't a single wound on his body except for the light scratch on his neck which healed in less than a blink.
A golden armour clung to the man's body like a second skin, without even a scratch on it. While a red cape with a crest on it whipped freely in the air.
A long platinum and golden bladed sword hummed in his hand radiating unbound sharpness and power, as if eager to demolish the man's opponent,
While the other silhouette was of a woman, unlike the man she was in a horrid and terrible state.
Sharp and deep cuts marred everywhere on her body, as crimson blood dripped from them continuously. Her breathing was heavy and ragged as she took deep breaths.
Her once gorgeous snow white hair were now darkened with dust and blood, as strands of them stick to her face covered in blood and sweat.
She was an insanely gorgeous woman, so much that nations might fought wars to conquer her. Though, now she was in a state where even breathing was tough for her.
"Hah hah…cough cough." Blood came out of her mouth as she coughed harshly.
The man finally spoke.
"Vienna Von Celendria." He spoke in a deep voice filled with such strength that it felt as if he was declaring some divine judgement on the woman.
Which was in a way…true.
"Throughout the decade, you and your family have done extremely heinous and atrocious deeds. Colluding with the demons…commuting devilish experiments on the ordinary citizens of the world, killing entire races from the face of this world and the vilest of all…helping the Evil god's apostle."
He spoke all that in a single breath, then stopped as if allowing the weight of his words to fall on her.
"Haha cough haha." A choked chuckle left out of her mouth. However, the man ignored her deliberately and spoke once again.
"Thus, i on behalf of the Goddess of Judgement and Light shall fulfill my duty and cleanse the world right here. However, as much as I would like to kill you, the kind and merciful Light Goddess pities you, and is willing to forgive your deeds if you come under her. Thus…choose death or salvation." The man spoke.
"Pathetic..haha how very truly pathetic you people are." She laughed as she raised her head, her crimson eyes matching the man's golden.
"You know what, I don't even want to talk about it. You want me to choose between death and becoming your slave. Of course then I choose death, you shit head." She said her voice filled with ridicule and rage.
"I see, then." The man spoke as he raised his sword. A blinding light erupted from the sword like a volcano as the man swung his blade.
A huge golden arc of light shot towards Vienna, destroying everything in its path. Vienna grinned then, she raised her middle finger in the air as she spoke.
"Fuck you and your goddes—." She couldn't finish her words before the blinding arc of light severed her head.
Bannng…
"Fuuuuccccckkkk." An angry shout tore through a dull lit room, as a fist met the computer screen almost breaking the monitor in two.
The screen shattered into black and white pixels and shards of glass and hard plastic. As the force behind the fist made it almost phase through the whole monitor.
The fist belonged to a young boy with black hair and eyes. He was a fairly good looking boy however right now he face contorted in anger as he shattered his pc's screen.
"Goddman it, fucking once again." He cursed loudly, then after a moment later as if realising what he had done, his eyes widened so much they seemed to pop out.
"S-shit no…no, my computer. My precious computer." His voice trembled, a mixture of extreme shock and instant regret.
He removed his lodged trembling fist from the screen, watching it as the monitor fell slowly on the ground from the desk.
Shatter
The sound of his monitor falling seemed to blur out his surroundings as he sat frozen on his seat watching its screen flicker out and turn completely black.
"I hate my life." He spoke.
****
20 minutes later.
After grieving for his monitor, Alex lay on his bed staring at the dark ceiling of his room blankly. He cursed himself for giving into his instincts and breaking his precious computer in anger.
"Fuck…that shitty ass game." Then, as if remembering the reason for his anger he cursed.
Yes, the reason for his anger was a simple game.
Ascension: Path To Godhood.
It was a dark romance fantasy game that took over the entire world when it was launched. It has everything that gamers crave.
A mind blowing story with good pacing, extremely beautiful graphics, side characters who weren't deadass npc's with no thoughts of their own. Good action and most of all nice plot and twists.
"Haa. I can't save them again." Alex sighed loudly, rubbing his face with his hand as he thought about the reason for his anger.
He had done everything from finding loops and schemes to searching for goddamn bugs. However, this game doesn't have any.
Yes. A game without any bugs, how can that be possible?
Yet, it was true. After all, he, an avid gamer who was obsessed with this shitty game for three years, had confirmed it.
And the reason for why he was trying to find such things in a game which he had already won hundreds of times was simple.
He wanted to have a perfect ending.
Alex closed his eyes, as he remembered the faint image of the status window that appeared after he had finished the game for the first time.
It was a quest panel, highlighting those damn words in a bright white and blue colour.
[Quest—Reach the Perfect Ending.
Reward—Whatever "You" wish.
Quest Difficulty—Impossible.]
Of course, he didn't believe in that reward. However as a gamer, the quest did its thing. It lit up the faint spark of curiosity and expectations in his heart.
Spark that turned into a hellfire, before he knew it. Alex becomes obsessed with reaching the Perfect Ending. Whether day or night whenever he got time.
He would play. He would grind. However even after three whole years, he hadn't reached the perfect ending.
He had many times thought about quitting, as the quest was way too difficult. However there was only one thing about him, he was very confident…that was his stubbornness.
No matter what happened, if he once decided to do something, he would absolutely do it without a single hesitation.
However, one day as if pitying him. The system window appeared once again.
[Tip—Save the Villainesses and Heroines.]
That was it. However, for Alex it was enough. He did everything he could to complete the goal.
In the end, he saved the heroines however not once in his thousands of gameplay had he ever been successful to save the Villainesses.
And today once again he had failed.
"Hah." Thinking about it another long sigh escaped his lips. "Ahh, I don't even have money to buy a new monitor." He groaned softly.
Just then, his smart phone buzzed. The sound of notifications coming reverberating in the serenely quiet room. He had kept his phone on his computer desk.
Alex ignored it, thinking it was just his friends messaging him about something bullshit.
The notification continued for three more seconds before the room fell quiet again. However as if the world didn't want him to even grieve for his computer.
His phone rang again. This time it was a phone call.
"Fuck, these guys." With a jerk, he pushed himself up from his bed. The wooden bed creaked from it. Annoyed, he walked towards his phone.
However, just as he was about to reach for it. The call cut. His hand going for the phone froze mid air for a second before he picked it up.
Ding!
"Huh?"
Before, he could open it. A strange yet familiar sound reached his ears. He once again froze. Slowly, like a creaking gate he turned his head towards where the broken monitor screen lay.
His breath caught. The screen was still broken, its glass shattered yet unlike before its screen wasn't black now.
A familiar status window was on the broken screen.
[Would you like to give one last try, to reach the perfect ending?]
"What the actual heck?"
