Kira Frostmoon opened her eyes and looked around around her, finding nothing but sand and darkness. The only sound she could hear were the constant tapping like dripping water.
She was surrounded by endless dunes of sand and the sky was dark with only a few stars shining up ahead, she gently stood up and patted her dress then stepped forward lightly,
"Where am I? Why am I here?" Kira wondered out loud. The silence didn't make things better and the constant tapping sounds were getting louder.

Suddenly, she felt the sand beneath her feet shift slightly, then the tapping sounds became more frequent and louder.
Standing on the same spot, she looked down and felt the sand shift shift.
Her eyes widened as she screamed trying to hold onto anything her hand could reach but there was nothing nearby. She looked down and saw a large centipede like creature with multiple rows of teeth devouring the sand and everything around while she also fell into it the darkness.

Kira's eyes snapped open and she raised her head in shock.
Florescent lights covered her vision and the quiet scratches of pen filled the room, she found herself in a lecture hall with students sitting while listening to a lecturer rambling up front about a few things Kira couldn't make sense of.
"It's the same dream over and over again" she said while running an hand though her hair.
This wasn't the first time she'll be having the same dream about the desert and the strange centipede and it wasn't the first time to fall asleep during lecture either, it was more like a normal occurrence now but no one in Stormguard university dared to do anything about her.
After all, everyone knew who she was, the sole heir of the Frostmoon family, one of the four giants of Aetherion, as long as she survived till adulthood which was very likely she'll be the next family head. Even the provost couldn't do anything about Kira, lecturers could only watch her and pray they go unnoticed.
"Boring" she said while standing up and brushing aside the desk without a care but no one dared to stop her, various glances were thrown in her direction.
Envy and hate from some.
Some like the lecturer felt fear.
Most, were filled with worship and admiration, after all despite her reclusive nature she was the most beauty girl of the university, the object of admiration by the boys but none dared to approach her and only watched from afar.
No one really knew what she would do if such a situation occured, walking out of the lecture hall, she took in a deep breath and walked towards the park where her two guards Draven and Silas were waiting.
Draven was sitting above a black luxury car while Silas stood beside it.
"Our little princess is back, looks like you slept through most of the lecture" Draven said while jumping down from the car, he was about 1.7 metres tall with a sturdy build and rippling muscles but looked nice, no one knew what he'll do when he gets angry though.
Silas on the other hand, was 1.5 metres tall with a fair complexion and blonde hair, googles on his eyes with a calculating look on his face, looking like a total nerd.
"No, she didn't sleep through most, more like she slept through all the lectures,should just stop wasting time on attendance at this point, won't change anything anyways." Silas said while pushing his glasses with his index finger.
Kira ignored the two and opened the car door herself.
"Let's go"
"What about the rest of your classes?" Silas asked.
"Not interested" Kira said without a second thought.
"I was getting bored anyways, university and lectures can go to hell" Draven said with a large grin on his face and hopped into the car. Silas followed then the car disappeared into the horizon.

Returning to the villa at the edge of Stormguard city which was named after the university, Kira left the car while Draven drove the car to the park.
She looked at the villa and thought back to the strange dream she occasionally had and what it meant to her. The dreams started ever since her mother died ten years ago and remembering her mother's death, she gently bit her lower lips while clenching her fists.
Ten years ago
Young Kira and her mother were in a car with two guards, driving across the highway when Kira's stomach grumbled, she raised her small palms to her stomach and looked at her mother with cute puppy eyes, seemingly asking for a solution to the little beast in her tummy.
"You're hungry again? It's been just a few hours since you ate" her mother said with concern on her face.
"Mom please I'm hungryyy" Kira said with a sobbing look on her face.
Kira's mother gave in and told the driver to park beside the next restaurant they saw along the roadside, the two walked into the restaurant hand in hand then ordered a few dishes for Kira.
She watched her daughter eat cheerfully till she was full then they left the restaurant together.
The weather was cool and and a bit dark, they were walking back to the car when Kira saw him.
He looked normal on first glance but he was holding a bag with blood flowing down his right hand, he had a hood over his face and he was walking sluggishly.
"Mom! It looks like that man's hurt" Kira shouted with concern then ran over to the man in a hurry.
"Kira, wait!!" She screamed then ran after her.
"Sir, are you alright?" Kira asked when she came close then froze in shock when she saw his face, his face looked pale with blood all over his mouth and glowing red eyes staring back at her, she looked down and screamed out loud in shock when she saw a dead young lady's face from the small opened gap in the bag.
The man tilted his head a bit then while looking at Kira then a wide grin appeared on his face.
The last thing Kira saw before passing out was the man raising his hand and her mother running over while calling her name.
