Chapter 1 - Prologue: The beginning of new changes.

Prologue.

___________

It was dark, very dark, without light and without any distinguishable physical matter; human perception would not change anything.

The place was, to say the least, impossible to determine; one could only make out a vague, indistinct shape without being able to determine its properties. The unknown nature of the situation seemed rather frightening.

Time passed, making the ambiguity of the situation even deeper. The indistinct shape slowly writhed in countless ways, without its properties being known; its size remained a mystery in this place resembling a void devoid of the concept of light.

As time continued to pass and the shape continued to writhe in incomprehensible patterns, a change as indistinct as the rest occurred at a certain moment. This change manifested itself through an increase in its size.

This increase in size only seemed to accelerate—if things could be formulated that way. Soon, the place seemed to take on a more distinct form, distances becoming perceptible. The place finally seemed limited, although it was still devoid of light. The shape, taking on ever larger proportions, soon filled the place with its indistinct and writhing form until it completely replaced it.

___

This time, although it was very dark, the concept of light was indeed present, and a human would be able to perceive some shapes there as well as the concepts of distance, time...

But the place was devoid of humans; the only thing present, and clearly visible, was a point of such deep black that it would seem almost unreal, and of such a small size that a human would have to concentrate for several seconds before being able to perceive it.

Compared to the previous place, deprived of most of the concepts necessary for a good balance allowing life to exist, this place seemed a bit more "natural". There were nuances of colors, shapes, temperatures, lights...

The place was probably underground; there was little air present. A wind was indeed there, but it originated from the small black point. One could distinguish certain colors ranging from dark blue to a fairly light beige, enough to differentiate them from the gray color, the second most humanly visible and present color after black. One could also distinguish some shapes similar to willow-like mushrooms? almost perfectly rounded on the top and falling down in several kinds of vines, rather far from the trunk? itself rather twisted toward two or three directions..., and the perceived temperature must have been around 3°C.

In short, considering the low light, one could conclude that the place where the black point appeared was underground.

___

At the same moment, a similar situation was taking place in many other places. These places had nothing in common except for the low presence of light. It would seem that darkness was required for the appearance of these black points.

Still at the same moment, these black points began to rotate on themselves at an imperceptible speed.

Through this rotation, the surrounding air was absorbed by the black points, distorting the shapes and colors of their places of appearance. Their rotation formed a wind lifting all the dust and other things light enough to be carried away, the whole swirling around the black points, forming small deformed tornadoes.

The tornadoes only remained for a few hours before dissipating, leaving behind forms all different from one another. These forms seemed, in a certain way, adapted to their places of appearance; they blended into them so well that at first glance they were almost invisible. But their color was such a deep black that they could be distinguished very quickly, even in the deep darkness of the place. Moreover, their shapes were so distorted that one could deduce that their bodies had been made from the fusion of the black point and the tornado generated by its rotation.

Although these places of appearance were not frequented by humans because of the deep darkness, some of these places were on the path of a few people. There were therefore a few human witnesses to the appearance of these impressively strange forms...
