Chapter 1 - 01 - That Day

That day had begun calmly. However, now Leon was falling from the sky at great speed. The wind whistled in his ears and his clothes clashed against the air.

Near midday, Leon had stopped on his way, just before reaching home, and looked up, seeing the usual cloudless blue sky. Letting out a sigh, he opened the front door and saw his parents. But in that same instant, the world froze.

The sky split open, or to be more precise, Leon felt as if the world had frozen and slowed down, and the ground opened beneath their feet. His mother, who was close to his father, was already holding his hand while extending the other toward Leon.

However, that was the last vision he had before falling into darkness. And he kept falling and falling and falling, until at some point, seconds or minutes, he could no longer feel the passage of time, and he lost consciousness.

In his dreams, Leon saw his parents again and ran toward them! "Mom! Dad!" As he stretched his hand forward. But as soon as he did, he felt something hard hitting it, and then he woke up.

"Ouch! But what?" He opened his eyes, sitting up while hitting his head on the same thing he had just struck with his hand, and soon fell back complaining. But after blinking a few times, he saw that he was inside what seemed to be a hole?

"Where am I? One moment I was entering my house and then everything went black."

He crawled out of the hole, soon seeing a strong light, and once he passed through it he could see. Leon had ended up in a forest? "But what..." Standing up, he began to walk through the place while he could only see trees and grass ahead of him.

It was at that moment that an absurdly strong headache struck the young man, who leaned against the tree beside him holding his head.

[ Welcome to Gaia ]

A voice spoke in his mind while he groaned in pain.

[ All inhabitants of the planet designated Earth have been transferred to Gaia. As a means for humanity of Earth to continue to exist. Since the dimension in which they were was erased. Due to this, all humans have been granted the right to attempt to survive here. The gods wish you good luck! ]

The pain then slowly faded along with the voice. And together with that, something appeared in front of Leon's eyes.

[ Name: Leon Grand ]

[ Race: Human ]

[ Level: 1 ]

Attributes:

[ Strength: 3 ]

[ Intelligence: 4 ]

[ Speed: 4 ]

[ Endurance: 3 ]

[ Mana: 7 ]

Traits:

[ Language Adaptation (Universal) ]

[ ?? (Dormant) ]

That was exactly what he thought, a status window. And his stats were there. "Level 1. Strength, intelligence, speed." Leon was a little dazed by all the information he had just received. And even more. "Wait... Earth was erased?" He looked around while thinking about his parents and his friends.

"All humans came to this new world. I have a status window and..."

As he spoke, he heard a branch breaking, and reacting by instinct, Leon crouched down, hiding inside some bushes on the ground. Thinking, 'They were granted the right to survive.' From the direction of the sound, a creature was coming. Leon would laugh if it were another situation.

He could see a... Goblin? A small green creature with a club that it held in both hands. It did not look like any thought passed through that head, and the monster moved only by instinct. Leon held his breath so as not to make noise. While looking down he saw a stone the size of his hand.

Soon holding it. 'At least it is not something bigger. Maybe if necessary I can take it down. But I am not really eager. There are stats in this world. It may be a higher level than me. And it is not as if there is a display above the goblin's head telling me its level.'

However, soon the possible danger passed. The green goblin walked to the other side. Leon let out a light sigh of relief. And then stood up carefully from where he was to go in the opposite direction the goblin had gone.

On the way, he managed to find a stream that ran through the forest. Still moving with caution, but he remembered that normally there were civilizations around rivers. And with that, he chose to follow the path in the direction the river was flowing.

"Now that I think about it, I still have my phone with me." He put his hand in his pocket while taking out the phone, but as he already expected, there was no signal there. And he let out another sigh. "I imagined." Soon he turned it off and put it away.

"I do not know the level of technology in this world. If it is like in the books, and they are less developed, I can try to sell this for money." It was something he liked to do in his free time. Read. However, even being a fan of stories, he never wanted to go into one for real.

"And now the whole world came to another world with me. So I imagine there are many going crazy. And thinking they are the protagonists." He shivered just thinking about meeting someone with middle school syndrome.

"Now how do I open the system again." As soon as he said system, the window appeared again like in a real game. And now more calmly he could analyze his stats.

"I am not the most athletic, but I was pretty good in sports. So would these be the average attributes of someone athletic?" He thought. He was still 17 years old, but he always participated in sports and martial arts clubs at school. He could be considered quite fit for someone his age.

"And the traits. There is one that seems very useful, but this other one is what?" He looked at the Dormant trait that had only ?? as a name. Shaking his head, he then selected Language Adaptation.

[ Language Adaptation: Blessing Level, you are capable of understanding and speaking all currently most used languages in the world, and only that. ]

"At least they thought about that. All humans arriving in a new place without understanding anything would cause chaos. Not that it will not already happen with what occurred, at least I will be able to talk to people."

Stopping walking, he then crouched to drink water by the river. "The water looks very clean and transparent. I wish I had a way to heat it but there is nothing I can do now."

He then took a few gulps of water.

"First I have to manage to find my parents, and maybe my friends too. If the teleport left us close to each other maybe I will find them soon... But I hope they are fine."

Lost in his thoughts, he saw a shadow ahead. Lowering his hand and raising his face, Leon could see something big. Snorting, it looked like a boar, but it was three times bigger than one, even bigger than a horse. The large tusks coming out of its mouth looked like sharp spears. Leon swallowed dry, even though he had just drunk water.

He then slowly stood up so as not to provoke the creature. But it already seemed too late, even from the other side of the river that ran between them, the creature charged toward Leon, who began running downstream as well. "Damn, damn, damn!" He cursed his bad luck and lack of attention.

Running for his life, Leon managed to open some distance, that distance which was soon closed by the giant boar that came in his direction destroying trees along with anything else that stayed in its path.

Panting, he then saw that the forest began to clear more. Leon narrowed his eyes as he saw that, he had a chance. 'As soon as I reach the clearing I have to throw myself to the side, if everything goes right the change in light intensity will give me a few seconds!' He planned in his mind at full speed.

The sound of destruction was right at his neck. "Grr! Go!" The boar was only a few meters away from Leon! And now he only had to jump toward the river! "Now!" He then jumped to the right, but he could see the boar braking its path.

"Heh?!" Midair, the change in the lights on his face made him understand. The boar hadn't stopped at the edge. However, it continued along with Leon, even trying to stop its movements; the boar fell too!

"What?! A floating island?" And indeed he had been this whole time on an island in the sky. Looking down he could see that the river turned into a gigantic waterfall, going down to the ground where there was a great sea, its beginning? Or at least that was what it seemed, while falling Leon could see further away around that sea that followed to one side, there was a great city. With large walls.

Leon clenched his teeth while thinking, and thinking fast. He could see the boar falling alongside him, the gigantic monster was disoriented from the fall, even more than Leon had been from the initial shock. The two were not far from each other, however the boar was falling on its back while thrashing in the air.

Seeing that, he threw himself more toward the side of the boar. He knew he would not survive taking the direct impact with the body of water below. He was still an ordinary human!. As soon as Leon managed to touch the boar, he then pulled himself toward it while trying to climb its body.

The fall was getting closer to the water below, he had only a few seconds to climb onto the monster's belly. " Grraa! " Holding himself with both hands onto the creature's thick fur, he then pushed himself upward, the wind screaming in his ears and the certain impact approaching.

As soon as Leon touched the monster's stomach, he could see one of the thrashing legs coming toward him to strike him. The young man swallowed hard, he could not dodge, there was no way to!. However he did not look away. He had done the best he could.

And then just as he was about to be struck. A great impact was heard and felt by Leon!. Followed by everything going black and his body aching all over uniformly. The last thing he could remember was a message appearing in the blackness of his vision.
