"I heard brother Naruto was getting married, so I rushed back," Kaien said with a bitter smile.
"But I got stopped at the gate."
"Sakura-sama!" The guard immediately stiffened, forcing a smile.
"Too many people have been impersonating Hokage-sama's younger brother recently. We really couldn't confirm his identity."
"It's fine," Sakura said, waving it off. "Let him in."
After passing the barrier, Kaien bowed slightly.
"Thank you so much, Sister Sakura. If it weren't for you, I might've had to sleep in the forest tonight."
"It's nothing," Sakura replied gently.
"Come on. Aunt Kushina and Naruto should be preparing the wedding venue. I'll take you there."
She turned and led him forward.
Kaien followed behind, his gaze lingering on her back, a trace of desire flickering in his eyes.
