Chapter 1 - 1 — A Twist of Fate

Chapter 1 — A Twist of Fate

Year 32 of Konoha.

Konohagakure.

Inside one of the bright, orderly classrooms of the Ninja Academy, sunlight streamed through tall windows, illuminating rows of eager young faces. The faint scent of chalk dust lingered in the air.

"Everyone, watch closely! This—this right here—is the crucial principle behind the Clone Technique…"

At the podium stood a middle-aged shinobi with a stern yet earnest expression. Honda Takeshi was not a particularly famous ninja, nor exceptionally powerful, but he took his responsibility as an instructor seriously. To him, shaping the next generation of Konoha's shinobi was a duty worthy of pride.

On the blackboard behind him were neatly written characters and a diagram illustrating the chakra flow required for the Clone Technique. Several students leaned forward in concentration, while others struggled to keep up, their brows furrowed.

Then—

Knock knock knock!

Knock knock knock!

The sharp, urgent sound shattered the rhythm of the lecture.

Honda Takeshi's chalk paused mid-stroke. A crease formed between his brows.

As a teacher, there was little he disliked more than having his lesson interrupted. The academy emphasized discipline; interruptions were rare and almost always serious.

Suppressing his irritation, he set the chalk down carefully and walked toward the door.

When he opened it, his expression changed instantly.

Standing outside was a member of the Konoha Military Police Force.

The man wore the unmistakable uniform—dark attire adorned with the proud fan crest of the Uchiha clan on his back. His presence carried a natural pressure, the quiet authority of someone who upheld law and order within the village.

Honda Takeshi's throat tightened slightly.

After all, every member of the Military Police was an Uchiha.

And the Uchiha name… was renowned throughout the village.

Powerful. Proud. Feared.

Even though Honda was certain he had done nothing wrong, an inexplicable chill crept into his chest.

The man outside did not bother hiding his impatience.

"I'm here to see Uchiha Tendō. It's urgent."

His tone was calm, but firm—leaving no room for delay.

Honda Takeshi immediately nodded. "O-Of course."

He didn't dare ask further questions. Turning swiftly, he stepped back into the classroom.

"Uchiha Tendō," he called out, striving to keep his voice steady. "Please come outside."

A brief murmur passed through the students.

From the third row near the window, a boy slowly rose to his feet.

He was eight years old, with long, black spiky hair that framed a pair of dark, thoughtful eyes. His features were refined, his posture straight—not rigid with pride, but steady with composure far beyond his age.

Uchiha Tendō.

To his classmates, he was already a legend within the academy. Calm, talented, always at the top of every evaluation. He mastered techniques faster than anyone else and rarely showed childish impulsiveness.

But none of them knew the truth.

Uchiha Tendō was not originally from this world.

In his previous life on Earth, he had been an unquestionable genius—so exceptional that even his teachers had once half-joked that heaven itself might grow jealous of him.

Perhaps heaven truly had.

At the age of twenty, in the prime of his brilliance, his life ended abruptly.

When he opened his eyes again, he found himself reborn in the world of Naruto.

When he first became aware of his surroundings, his biological parents in this world had already died on a mission. It was Uchiha Tenyū who had taken him in—offering him a home, a name, and warmth.

For eight years, Tenyū and his wife Hanako had raised him as their own son.

Over time, the boundaries between "adopted" and "biological" had long since disappeared in Tendō's heart.

They were his parents.

He walked out of the classroom calmly.

Outside, Uchiha Yama stood waiting.

The man studied him quietly.

Talent beyond his peers was one thing. But for a child of eight to carry himself with such quiet steadiness, such restrained composure—it was rare.

Truly worthy of being called the greatest prodigy of this generation.

Even the clan head's son, Uchiha Fugaku, paled in comparison.

A faint sigh escaped Yama's lips.

"I hope you can endure this…"

He gestured for Tendō to follow.

Tendō noticed the subtle heaviness in his tone. Something was wrong.

Still, he did not ask questions. He had never been one to pry without reason.

They were of the same clan. There was no possibility of harm.

Yet as they walked through the village streets in silence, a subtle unease began to coil within his chest.

Soon, they arrived at Konoha Hospital.

The sterile scent of medicine filled the air.

They stopped before the closed doors of an operating room.

The red light above the door was lit.

In that instant, a vague but suffocating premonition gripped Tendō's heart.

Uchiha Yama inhaled deeply.

"Tendō," he said in a low voice, "no matter what I'm about to tell you… you must be prepared."

Tendō was silent for a long moment.

Then he nodded once.

Yama did not delay any further.

"Tenyū… died during a mission a few days ago."

The words fell like a hammer.

"The news returned to the village shortly after. Hanako couldn't bear the shock. Her body was already frail… and she was pregnant."

"She's inside right now undergoing emergency treatment. There's a possibility that… both mother and child may not survive."

For a moment—

The world seemed to tilt.

Sound faded.

The hospital corridor stretched into a distant blur.

Eight years of memories surged violently through his mind.

Tenyū teaching him how to properly mold chakra.

Hanako gently adjusting his collar before he left for the academy.

Their laughter at dinner.

Their quiet pride.

They had been preparing to welcome a new child into the family. Hanako had endured ten long months, smiling despite the strain on her body.

And now—

Fate had struck without warning.

Tendō leaned back against the cold wall.

His fists clenched so tightly that his knuckles turned white.

Creak—

The operating room doors slowly opened.

A blonde woman stepped out, her expression weary but composed. In her arms was a newborn baby, swaddled carefully in white cloth.

Tsunade.

She walked straight toward the boy.

"You're Uchiha Tendō?" she asked bluntly.

He nodded.

"I am."

Without ceremony, Tsunade placed the baby into his arms.

"This is your sister," she said. "Uchiha Hanako chose to give her a chance to live."

Her tone, though firm, carried an undercurrent of heaviness.

"As her older brother… you must protect her."

For a brief moment, Tendō's arms stiffened as the small, fragile weight settled against his chest.

The baby's face was red and wrinkled, her tiny fingers curling instinctively around the fabric near his collar.

Tsunade turned as if to leave.

"Lady Tsunade," Tendō's voice sounded, low and restrained.

She paused.

"Even you… couldn't save her?"

Tsunade frowned sharply and turned back.

"Brat. Are you blaming me?"

But then—

She froze.

The boy's head was slightly lowered.

Within his dark eyes, crimson bloomed.

Two tomoe slowly rotated in each pupil.

Two-tomoe Sharingan.

At eight years old.

"Tch… troublesome," Tsunade muttered under her breath.

"It's not that I didn't want to save her. By the time I arrived… it was already too late."

For reasons she herself couldn't quite explain, she offered that clarification.

Perhaps it was the grief in his silence.

Perhaps it was the eerie calm in those newly awakened eyes.

Tendō lowered his gaze once more.

"I understand."

His voice was steady.

"Then… I will take my leave."

Tsunade watched him walk away with the newborn in his arms.

Her brows knitted together.

An eight-year-old awakening the two-tomoe Sharingan under such circumstances…

If guided improperly, such a child could become something dangerous as Another Uchiha Madara.

This matter… would need to be reported to Hiruzen-sensei.

Behind her, Uchiha Yama's face was flushed with barely contained excitement.

"As expected of our clan's prodigy!" he muttered. "Two-tomoe Sharingan at just eight years old!"

"We must secure more resources for him. A genius like this cannot be neglected."

With that thought, he hurried off toward the residence of the clan head.

---

Night fell over the Uchiha district.

Moonlight filtered through the paper windows of a quiet room.

Uchiha Tendō sat on his bed, the newborn resting gently in his arms.

The house felt emptier than ever before.

Yet within that emptiness, a faint warmth remained.

The baby stirred softly, her breathing light and fragile.

The crimson had long since faded from Tendō's eyes.

Now, they held only quiet resolve.

He gently rocked her, his voice soft in the stillness.

"From now on… your name will be Uchiha Akihō."

He brushed a finger lightly against her tiny hand.

"Big brother will protect you."

No matter what this world demanded.

No matter what fate tried to take.

He would never lose his family again.

Suddenly—
