Synopsis
In a future timeline... Earth was selected to join the universe’s Armageddon Events. Seven worlds all fused as one, with no seeming meaning or end purpose, humans found themselves amongst races they would normally only find in their sweetest dreams or worst nightmares. The Armageddon had its downside: the utter degradation of humanity from the top of its food chain to the absolute bottom. And its upside: the birth of Halo Runes within each human soul. With the existence of a new otherworldly power, a new age of growth bordering on the supernatural level was ushered in, along with a vast improvement in technology. Slowly but surely, humanity did what it was best at: surviving long enough to cling its way back up, until once more it became a reputable force in the universe. A happy ending, it seems, but not for Emrys. In a world that had slowly learned to derive its meaning from Halo Runes, he was unfortunate enough to awaken a broken Halo. No abilities, no strength or intelligence improvement; it was as useless as useless could be. What’s worse? His Halo bore an uncanny resemblance to that of humanity’s most hated enemies: the Demonifix Race! Nothing but orphanage trash previously, Emrys quickly found himself sold away, only to end up having his soul essence sucked out by a succubus. Betrayed by his true race and destroyed by the ones he bore a Halo resemblance to, he was rejected by the universe itself… up until that moment. [Height of Despair Fulfilled] [Heart of Hatred Awakened!] [Congratulations, Host has successfully fulfilled requirements for fusion.] [Congratulations, Host has awakened the SSS-grade Ruined Angel Halo.] [First Essence Roll: Succubus Overlord Class Chosen!] From the depths of the abyss crawls out not a human, nor a demon but a being whom death itself had failed to claim. A ghost of self, carrying the broken will of a Ruined Angel. Villainous Ascension follows the story of Emrys as he walks from being nothing, an F-grade trash, to eventually becoming the most feared anomalous existence in the universe. An anomalous known as The Succubus Overlord!

Chapter 1 - Welcome to The Dark Side

They lied...

They said that there was something in this world that could bind two souls together in a quiet, unspoken peace.

A warmth to be exchanged in the dark, filled with pleasure that could be tender without being fragile.

They called it one of the best things in the world:

Sex.

But… they lied.

__________

There were wet, violent sounds, flesh beating against flesh, and faint grunts, one filled with unmistakable pain, coming from the other side of the wall.

The darkness was blinding, and Emrys could not see a thing, but he could feel.

He was lying on his back, on something soft, the bed.

CLANK!

A faint stir from him, and the sound of chains echoed out.

His limbs were spread wide from him, both hands above his head, wrists burning from the thick chains that held them tight.

His legs suffered the same fate, bound far apart.

STEP

STEP

CREAK

The sound of footsteps slowly echoed followed by a doorknob being twisted.

It opened with a spine-chilling creak.

Reflexively, Emrys snapped his head in that direction.

He saw nothing, but that only made made his hair stand on end.

Something was watching him.

"Who… Wh,"

RUSTLE

He tried to speak, but the words halted in his throat when a cold claw grabbed onto his neck, pinning him to the bed.

"Shh… shhh… shhhhhhhhh."

"I do not like hearing my prey speak without my permission. Especially not you bloody humans."

The voice, feminine without a doubt, whispered gently in his ear as Emrys felt a claw trail slowly downward, severing what little clothing still hid his body.

"All I want from you…"

By this point, he was completely naked, and slowly he felt the soft yet equally heavy body lowering down onto him.

"…are your painful moans."

______

For the next few moments, all Emrys felt was him sinking into a world of pain.

The claws sliced through his back, drawing blood from his skin.

He could not shout, as not only did claws wrap around his neck, quietly digging in as time went by, but he also felt his lips locked down by another.

But that was the least of his pain.

There was a deeper pain:

One he could only describe as life being sucked out of him.

When that monster had climbed on him, he had felt her body cold.

Yet now, he felt himself so cold while she now appeared so warm.

The chains binding one of his hands had been broken in the ordeal, and when she parted from him, it felt like his flesh was leaving him.

All of his senses screamed at him to reach out his hands and grab at the warmth before it left him.

But...he never did.

Even though he felt colder than anything he had ever known, his mind was void, unable to carry out the will his body so desperately craved.

At that moment, a faint illumination came upon the room.

In the walls were embedded crystals that let loose a faint crimson light.

It provided him with just enough illumination to make out the being before him.

Feminine in form, she quietly slipped on a blood-red robe over her humongous figure.

She seemed to notice his stare, turning quietly to him.

Those eyes, pitch black, with a void of crimson red revolving within them.

Two horns curved downward from her head, and even through the coat, her crimson tail with its heart-shaped tip glowed brightly, flickering as though alive.

Quietly, a smirk appeared on her face as she slowly buttoned her coat.

"You know, for a weak-looking human, with not even a complete halo, such as yourself, you're not half bad at all."

She whispered, walking toward him.

"You have a very great amount of life essence, one I am quite satisfied to have taken in exchange for the greatest pleasure of your life…"

She said, a serpentine tongue quietly weaving out of her maw, sliding over his lips and wiping off the blood from his punctured mouth.

But then her eyes trailed to his.

Those blue eyes of his, though his face remained emotionless, held such deeply burning rage, seeking nothing more than to destroy her.

"Oh, please, human. This house," she said, turning her head around the room, "it is a cultivation room for us succubi."

"We only need to pay a certain amount of fee, and we will be given a person at random."

"I didn't pay any less, nor did I specially pick you."

"If you think about it, the one to blame is yourself for arriving here in the first place…"

She said, rising to her feet and turning for the door.

"I…"

The word echoed through the room, and she paused.

"I… pro… mise."

Quietly, she turned her head to look at the human, dark blood pouring from his lips in waves.

Though his body was failing, his cold blue eyes remained locked on her figure.

"There… will… co… me… a… time, wh… en...your grea… test… wish… will… be… death, and it… would… still… be… denied… to you."

"A fate… worse… than… death… I promise… you."

He swore, and at that moment, he felt his eyes roll to the back of his head, revealing the white.

She remained there at the door looking at him quietly for a while before she grinned.

A grin that tore up to her ears, revealing a bloody maw.

"Big words for one who won't survive the night."

She opened the door and stepped out the room.

A few minutes later, a new figure, dressed in pitch black and, holding a bag stepped in.

Quietly, it was zipped open, and his hands morphed into claws, slashing through the chains that bound the bloodied Emrys.

He stuffed him into the bag, zipping it tight before stepping out of the room, leaving all to pitch black once more.
