Synopsis
Billy was just an ordinary coder in Seoul, defined only by his persistent bad luck. That is, until the day a bullet, meant to end his life, missed him by a miracle. He soon discovers he is no longer ordinary: he has become the unwitting host of a fragment of the God of Luck's Essence, released during a cosmic war. Suddenly, he can instantly manifest any sincere desire (U.D.), granting him flight, invisibility, wealth, and anything else he wishes. But this Incredible Luck comes with a terrifying risk. Every night, his uncontrolled dreams (the Astral Fortune Voyages) threaten to materialize his darkest fears or desires, potentially destroying an entire city or even shattering reality. Guided by Sam, a sentient consciousness he created to stabilize his power, Billy must quickly transition from a passive host to a Master of Will using a vocal command system (Luck). His goal is not to become a god, but to evolve fast enough to avoid becoming the next target of the God of Misfortune... and to use his power to change people's lives, one sincere smile at a time.

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 An Ordinary Day… Or Not

The soft humming of hospital machines filled the quiet room. Billy lay in bed, staring at the ceiling, his mind drifting back to the night of the attackthe rush of adrenaline, the sound of the gunshot, the confusion of pain and fear. It all felt distant now, almost unreal.

A gentle knock interrupted his thoughts.

He looked up, expecting a nurse, but instead, a young woman stepped in nervous, a little hesitant. Their eyes met, and she offered a small, apologetic smile.

"Hi," she said softly, standing by the door. "I… I hope I'm not disturbing you."

Billy blinked, surprised, taking a moment to recognize her.

"You're the girl from the alley…"

She nodded quickly.

"Yeah. I… I'm really sorry I ran off that night. I panicked. I didn't even check if you were okay." Her voice was shaky. "I've felt bad about it ever since."

Billy managed a faint smile and shook his head.

"It's alright. You were scared. Anyone would've done the same."

She stepped closer, visibly relieved by his gentle tone.

"I just wanted to thank you. You saved me. If you hadn't stepped in, I don't know what would've happened."

Billy looked away for a moment, embarrassed, then met her gaze.

"I just did what felt right."

A brief silence fell between them. Then she smiled genuine, grateful.

"My name's Marie, by the way."

"Billy," he replied, returning her smile.

She tucked a lock of hair behind her ear, looking even more nervous.

"I know this is kind of sudden, but… would you maybe want to grab a drink with me sometime? When you're feeling better, I mean."

Billy was surprised, but couldn't help but smile.

"Sure," he said. "Why not?"

Marie's face lit up.

"Great. I'll come back when you're discharged. Deal?"

"Deal."

She gave him one last warm smile before leaving the room.

Billy lay back, staring at the ceiling with a lighter heart.

A drink with a stranger he'd saved… Maybe his luck really was incredible.
