{Kanagi Central Hospital RM 234 Maternity ward}
The wails and cries of a woman are heard with frantic nurses tending to a young-looking woman with long brown hair and red eyes who screams in pain as she pushes when the doctor tells her to try to get the baby that's been inside her out after nine months.
"It hurts! Get it out now!!!!" The woman's wails of pain cause one nurse to grow nervous, knowing that the young lady in labor is the sole daughter of the notorious Tsushima family and that if anything happens to her or the not-yet-born child, they all will end up mysteriously vanishing like others before them who angered the family.
"Just one more push, Tsushima-sama!" The doctor grows nervous, but finally, with one final push, the infant is out, and a baby's wail echoes in the room as the young woman breathes heavily before demanding to see her child. The nurses frantically clean and swaddle the now quiet infant as he is carried to the expectant mother, who, when she finally holds him, seems relieved.
"Ah, my little Shuji~ finally you're here and I can hold you." The woman's maternal care and affection are clearly heard as she holds her newborn son close. Meanwhile, a nervous young man with messy black hair and brown eyes paces outside nervously, while a middle-aged couple with dignified yet dangerous air gaze with stoic faces at the pacing man.
"Calm down, Boy! You know my daughter, your wife is strong; mere childbirth is nothing to a Tsushima woman." The old lady finally snaps her red eyes, sharpening her black hair with light grey at her temples is pulled back in a tight bun as she glares in annoyance at her pathetic son-in-law once more, wondering again why her perfect and strong-willed Kanae married a bumbling fool like Koto Ryuzaki. The older man, presumed to be Kanae's father, remains silent, a tall and elegant-looking gentleman with short, swept-back brown hair with a single grey streak, grey eyes gaze at his son-in-law with clear disapproval, yet does not voice it. "Gibo-sama, Forgive me, I merely worry about Kanae-chan since it's our first child since we married two years ago." Koto Ryuzaki finally stops his pacing as he waits for the news that both his wife and son are fine. As if heard by Kami, the door to the room opens, and a nurse tells them that Ms.Tsushima has delivered a healthy boy and is ready for visitors, but that they must be quiet so as not to stress the new mother and child. The family walks in and sees Kanae smiling softly at her newborn son, gently rubbing his soft brown tufts of hair as the sunlight falls on them, creating a picturesque scene. Finally, looking up, the woman smiles as she reaches her free hand out to her husband.
"Koto-Kun look! Our Little Shuji is so perfect, isn't he? He has my hair and eyes but your nose." Koto Ryuzaki smiles as he reaches a finger towards his newly born son with awe. "He's perfect, Kanae-Chan…..We're finally parents after so long." He struggles not to cry as he finally has a family with the love of his life; meanwhile, the older Tsushima couple gaze at their grandson with something close to disappointment. Finally noticing her parents, Kanae straightens herself and puts on a stoic mask before speaking. "Oto-Sama,Oka-sama. This is my son and heir, Tsushima Shuji…I named him after my grandfather."
Kanae sees the disappointment and knows it's because of the fact that she acted maternal towards her son in front of the staff in the delivery room. "A fine name, daughter. Now let me hold my grandson." The older man speaks not asking but demanding as Kanae gently hands her newborn to his grandfather, her red eyes locked on him with intense focus, she is ready to bolt and snatch her son back should her father show any intent to harm her son. Kanae's father gazes at the newborn and prepares to use his ability to scan the child, only to widen his eyes when realizing he can't use his ability at all. "Interesting….. I can't use my ability on him." Kanae tenses at those words, her face twisting in anger yet also confusion because she's upset her father tried to use his ability on her newborn, and confusion at how he wasn't able to use it. The woman, Kanae's Mother, turns to face her husband, her red eyes wide.
"Raito, what do you mean you can't use your ability!" Kanae's mother hisses, her eyes glowing slightly as her husband Tsushima Raito gazes in understanding at his newborn grandson before he laughs. "Mizuri…..The boy can cancel other abilities by touching them." Raito speaks to his wife, who goes still, knowing what such an ability means for their family, as the Tsushimas are a family completely comprised of ability users.
"Oto-san, you can't mean Shuji was born with his ability activated, can you?!" Kanae asked, seeing the looks on her parents' faces turn calculating, her eyes growing worried, knowing that, as much as her parents love her, they always place the family's power first. Koto gazes back and forth with nervousness, having known when he married into the Tsushima family after falling in love with Kanae that they are a dangerous and powerful group of people with special powers.
"Oto-San, I wish to have my child back, please," Kanae says voice hard as her red eyes sharpen and her long, messy brown hair seems to rise slightly. Raito merely smiles and hands him back, watching as Kanae pulls the baby closer to her chest. As the atmosphere shifts somewhere else, the sound of a pen writing on paper is heard as a pale hand is seen writing in a book, and as the view pans up, you see what is being written.
"Kanae Tsushima doesn't die in labour."
