First update, I have a diary now, and I'm naming her Elis (Yes, I'm weird).
My name is Mika Max. I'm a 16-year-old girl living—no, surviving—with my parents and my little brother, Miles. My family is perfectly normal-ish. Let me tell you about every one of us in the Max family. Grab some popcorn and a chilled drink. Maybe a pillow to laugh in while you're at it, 'cause you're gonna NEED it.
No offense to him, but my dad is the craziest person in the world. His full name is Oliver Max. My dad is a business man and criminal lawyer; sounds cool huh? WRONG! It isn't. I don't know if it's a profession thing, but he can be a 'bit' too nosey and overoptimistic (Irony intended). It also doesn't help that for some reason he keeps calling Miles and I criminals. If I take something (like his perfume), without asking, does that make me a criminal?
Can you believe he sentenced me to jail once? And it was just because I got a D in a math pop test. Yeah, I'm NOT KIDDING... Like, a D is better than an F?
You may be wondering, "How did your dad sentence you to jail, in your OWN home?" How's this, there's literally a mini PRISON FACILITY in our BACKYARD! It's this crooked, run-down shed we used to store supplies in. Now it just sits there looking like something a witch got evicted from in a low-budget fantasy movie...
... Don't ask any questions girl, just roll with it.
Next victim—my mom, Olivia Max. My mom is a surgeon. She thinks she has the right to know everything about my life. If being a stalker actually paid, my mom would be a billionaire.
One afternoon, I went to see my BFF, Helena. I told no one to follow me, because I didn't want anyone to know about the party Helena and I were planning for our moms.
FYI, both our moms share their birthdays on November 1st, tehehe.
Well, the point is, I think my mom ACTUALLY followed me somehow, 'cause immediately I got home, she showed me a shopping list. And this list 'happened' to have everything Helena and I mentioned for the party in it. I tried to confront her, but she dodged all my questions, saying it was all a "coincidence".
I have a list of my own though, my bucket list, and I updated immediately after that. I really need to put mom through a lie detector test someday.
For the last, and definitely not the least— Miles. He's a great brother... sometimes. He can be sweet, but annoying as hell most of the time.
I can remember an incident that occurred one time last year, during summer. Mom and I called dibs on the inflatable pool for later, because we were busy in the kitchen, cooking for visitors that NEVER actually showed up. That's tea for another day.
Miles didn't care (as usual). He filled up the pool, swimming in it till mom and I were free. I really needed that swim, it was SUPER hot that day. I know, I know, I'm low-key the cause, I'm that pretty...
...Anyways, that boy was just getting under my skin. Just as I was about to snap, after 'minutes' of hopeless waiting, mom told me to let him have the pool! You have no idea how mad I was.
And I taught him a lesson alright. I popped the pool with a needle when no one was looking. Dad saw it, assumed it was Miles' fault, and made him use his savings to buy a new one… Hahaha, I'm so cool!
