Chapter 7

You won't believe what happened to me today. All that talk about Dre? It backfired... into a PROPOSAL!

Yep. He literally proposed to me in the hallway—on one knee and with some cheap ring. The ring wasn't the problem. It wasn't even about rejecting him 'respectfully' either. The problem was the location.

In my school, gossip spreads faster than fire. You slip up, and your pics are on the school group chat in less than a millisecond (does not know what a millisecond is).

The most recent one was the Kennedy incident. Apparently, this 9th grader peed his pants during a presentation in his class. Underline "in his class", because in less than ten minutes, the whole school was talking about it, even the staff. I haven't seen him since then, which is so tragic NGL. If he transferred schools, he has to be the smartest guy alive. Hell, I would have started a new life in Wakanda if it were me.

Okay, back to this morning!

The air was fresh. My hair was hairing, my fit was fitting, and thankfully, I was still in a good mood. You should've seen me catwalking in dad's new jeans (that I definitely asked for). Give me another minute, and I swear I could've turned into Kim Kardashian… that is, until Dre happened.

Before I could come up with an escape plan, there was confetti all over me and cameras in my face. Then he handed me a rose, got down on one knee, and asked me to be his 'girlfriend'.

First, I dislike roses. I think they're SO overrated. Second, the word "girlfriend" makes me cringe so bad. All that lovey-dovey stuff, like pet names, have worse effects on me than diarrhea.

Plus, I've heard a lot about Dre, and trust me, girl, he's not the type of guy you'd wanna date.

One of the things I heard is that he's absolutely incapable of sticking to one girl, which is definitely not my cup of tea. He had three girls, AND a boy, fighting over him at the school dance last year. Yes, he was seeing all of them at the same time.

Anyway, as y'all would expect, I said no to Dre. Let me rephrase that. I was about to say no when the hall monitor appeared out of nowhere, and started yelling into this abnormally large megaphone. Girl, he had us running to class like a pack of deranged cheetahs.

You heard that right. There's a hall monitor now, and it's none other than Mr Banks. And of course, it was Ms Pamela's idea. You thought she'd gone? LMFAO.

Try again.

Two things, I'm so glad Mr Banks disrupted that whole stunt, because if I had responded to Dre, ooh, it would have been bad. Besides, I need to stay single for Lex. And of course, I'm also appreciative of the fact that Mr Banks has been demoted to hall monitor. That means less of his face in class, not that it was even pretty to look at anyway.

... Now that has me wondering who's going to be our new class teacher.

God help me.
