Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

The jungle was heavy with silence, broken only by the soft rustle of leaves in the damp air. Lanterns flickered along the old stone walls of a hidden base, throwing long shadows across the wet ground.

In a dark corner, a young woman sat tied to a wooden chair. The ropes dug into her wrists and ankles, rubbing her skin raw. Her long dark-blue hair fell over her shoulders, and a thick blindfold covered her pale eyes. She was Hinata Hyūga, heir of the Hyūga clan of Konoha.

At the center of the room, a man sat on a crate, one leg crossed over the other. His long black hair framed his sharp face, and his piercing blue eyes studied her without hurry. He was Reyuk, ruler of these shadowed lands.

After a long silence, he stood and walked to her. He lifted her chin with a finger, forcing her to face him even through the blindfold."So… you're Hinata Hyūga. The Hyūga heir."

Hinata stayed quiet, her body tense.

Reyuk tilted his head, a glint in his eyes. "No point denying it. I know why your team came into my territory."

Her voice was calm. "What do you want from me?"

A faint smile touched his lips. "Nothing… yet. I could sell your Byakugan eyes. Or I could keep you here. The second option sounds more interesting."

Hinata pressed against the chair, hiding her fear behind a steady face.

Reyuk's gaze lingered on her before something shimmered before him. A glowing screen formed, words twisting across it:

User: ReyukAuthority: Greed

His smile widened. He looked at Hinata, then lifted her easily onto his shoulder. She gasped but stayed silent, unable to resist the ropes.

The base around them vanished. Reyuk used his Authority—Greed. Time froze, air stilled, and space itself bent to his will. This was not speed or chakra. It was a denial of the world's rules.

The jungle blurred past in a blink. Hours of travel collapsed into seconds. Soon, they stood in a coastal town built on cliffs above the sea. Towers and villages dotted the fading twilight horizon.

Reyuk released his power and slowed. Guards bowed their heads as he walked through the iron-bound doors of his hall.

Hinata stirred, her Byakugan active under the blindfold. She felt the shift: jungle air replaced by sea wind, stone walls instead of leaves, and distant voices of a settlement.

Inside, lanterns lit wide halls lined with tapestries and scrolls. Reyuk set her on the stone floor."Stand," he ordered. "Don't try to run."

Soft steps echoed above. A young woman came down the stairs, her long hair messy, her face tired but graceful. She was about nineteen, her beauty quiet but strong.

"Reyuk…" Her voice shook with relief as she ran to him and embraced him. "You said a few days. It's been a week. I was worried."

"I'm back now," he said with a calm smile.

She looked at Hinata. "And her?"

"She trespassed with her team," Reyuk said. "I dealt with them."

The woman's eyes stayed on Hinata for a moment before turning away.

Reyuk called guards to take Hinata to a windowless room. The woman frowned. "No windows? Is that needed?"

"Yes," Reyuk replied without pause. Hinata was led away.

Reyuk and the woman walked together into his private chamber, warm with lantern light and rugs. He sat in a large chair by the fire. She climbed onto his lap, holding him close.

"Where were you really?" she asked.

"Business," he said simply.

"You were gone a week." She sighed against his shoulder. "Bandits came, but the guards stopped them. The coast is quiet. I just waited… and missed you."

He pulled her closer. Their kiss was soft at first, then deepened. For a moment, the outside world faded away.

When it ended, she gazed into his eyes. He studied her face, remembering. His thoughts drifted back three years.

The town had once been a poor fishing village the time when he was transmigrated here from earth, ruined by storms and bandits. That was when the system appeared:

SYSTEM ONLINEUser: ReyukAuthority: Greed

When bandits attacked, Reyuk used his power. Time froze for five seconds. In those moments, he struck down enemies before they could act. When time resumed, bodies fell, and survivors fled. With five seconds at a time, he defended the coast and brought peace.

But two years later, the bandits returned stronger. Flames spread, chaos filled the town, and the old chief was killed. With his last breath, he gave his daughter to Reyuk.

"She is yours now. Protect her. Lead our people."

She was sixteen then, clinging to him in fear. Over time, trust grew into love. Together, they rebuilt the village into a a town on the cliffs.

Back in the present, she sat in his lap, her eyes steady with faith.

"You're thinking of that night," she whispered.

Reyuk's lips curved into a small smile. He leaned in slowly, his breath warm against her skin. Gently, he pressed a kiss to the curve of her neck, just below her ear. The touch was deliberate, lingering—a soft brush that sent a shiver through her.

She inhaled sharply, her body responding instinctively. A flush crept up her cheeks as warmth spread through her, her pulse quickening under his lips. Her hands tightened on his shoulders, fingers digging into the fabric of his shirt. "Reyuk..." she murmured, her voice breathy, laced with a mix of surprise and desire.

He trailed another kiss lower, along the line of her collarbone, his hands steady on her waist, pulling her even closer.

The chamber's lantern light flickered, casting a golden glow over them, amplifying the intimacy of the moment.

She tilted her head back slightly, exposing more of her neck, her earlier fatigue forgotten in the rising heat between them.

Reyuk smiled as he pulled back just enough to meet her gaze, his blue eyes smoldering with intent.

His voice came low and husky, laced with a possessive edge. "I left my beautiful wife alone for too long. Now it's time to reward her... roughly."

Her breath hitched at his words, a spark of anticipation lighting in her eyes. She bit her lip, her body already thrumming with heat from his earlier kisses.

"Reyuk," she whispered, half-protest, half-invitation, her fingers tracing down his chest.

Without another word, he stood abruptly, lifting her with him in one fluid motion. Her legs wrapped around his waist instinctively as he carried her toward the bed at the far end of the chamber—a large, fur-draped expanse piled with soft linens and pillows.

He laid her down none too gently, his hands roaming with purpose. One slid up her thigh, pushing aside the fabric of her robe, while the other pinned her wrists above her head. She arched beneath him, a soft moan escaping her lips as he leaned down to claim her mouth in a fierce kiss—demanding, unyielding.

His free hand explored further, rough fingertips grazing sensitive skin, eliciting gasps and shivers from her. "You've been patient," he murmured against her ear, his teeth grazing the lobe. "But I won't be gentle tonight."

Author's Note

Reyuk is from Earth. He was brought to this world three years ago when the system appeared.

The system gave him his Authority: Greed, like Regulus Corneas from Re:Zero.

While active, nothing can touch him. Weapons, attacks, or natural forces cannot harm him. He moves freely, but the world cannot affect him during this state.

He can only keep this state for a short time (about five heartbeats). Using it too much is dangerous.

He used this power to defeat bandits and protect the coastal village. After the village chief died, Reyuk became its ruler.
