Chapter 1 - Part 1 - Journey Begins

Thousand Year Ago,

Basil II was the longest-reigning and one of the most powerful Byzantine emperors, ruling from 976 to 1025, earning the nickname "Bulgar-Slayer" for his relentless conquest of the Bulgarian Empire. His reign marked the Byzantine Empire's peak in the Middle Ages, with significant territorial expansion in the Balkans, Mesopotamia, and Armenia, coupled with domestic administrative reforms and a strong treasury. He consolidated his power by attacking wealthy landowners and securing crucial alliances, such as his marriage to the Kniev prince's sister to form the elite Varangian Guard. Born into the Macedonian dynasty, Basil II was a porphyrogennetos ("born into the purple"), a term used for a child born to a reigning emperor. He was the son of Emperor Romanos II and was crowned co-emperor with his brother, Constantine VIII, in 960. As a child, he was too young to rule, and the empire was effectively governed by his great-uncle, the powerful court eunuch Basil Lekapenos. This period was marked by internal strife and the usurpation of the throne by two military generals, Nikephoros II Phokas and John I Tzimiskes. Basil II finally consolidated his own authority around 985 by exiling his great-uncle. Basil II was a formidable military commander who personally led his armies. His focus was on restoring and expanding the empire's borders. Basil II died on December 15, 1025, at the age of 67. He was preparing for a campaign to reconquer Sicily from the Arabs at the time of his death.

The Present Time(Flashback)....

The story you've heard so far was told by Fahad's older brother to Fahad so that he can sleep after hearing a good story. Then, after Fahad fell asleep, Fahad's older brother also fell asleep next to him.

In The Morning....

It's morning, the sky outside is dark with clouds. A cold wind is blowing. The birds are singing. Today's date was 12th June, 2015. Fahad's older brother Farooq wakes up and makes breakfast for Fahad.

Fahad's father died when his mother was pregnant. Fahad's mother also died while giving birth to him. 10-year-old Fahad. Does he even know what an orphan means? He thinks of his brother as everything. His older brother is his parents.

Today was Fahad's birthday. Farooq called Fahad. And Fahad also woke up. Fahad freshened himself and sat down to eat breakfast. Fahad and Farooq finished eating breakfast. Then Farooq got ready to go to work.

Even though Farooq doesn't want to, his younger brother has to leave him alone at home and go to work every day. Otherwise, where will they get the money?

Farooq promises Fahad that he will come home early today and take him out to eat and give him lots of gifts. But maybe Fahad wasn't destined for lots of gifts and going out to eat.

Little Fahad sat in front of the door all day, waiting for his brother to come. As he waited, evening came. It was raining heavily outside, the call to prayer for Maghrib had just been given. Lightning was flashing because of the rain. Fahad was feeling very scared. Suddenly, the electricity in the house went out. Fahad's fear increased even more because he was alone at home.

Suddenly, Fahad heard the sound of someone falling down outside. He slowly moved forward with his bat. Then, when he opened the window with trembling hands, he could see his older brother, Farooq. His body was covered in blood. He was calling out to Fahad.

Fahad quickly dropped the bat in his hand and went to Farooq. Farooq was trying to say something but couldn't. There was a police station nearby, Fahad ran there and told the police everything. But Fahad was poor. So the police did not help him in any way.

Fahad ran, drenched in the rain, to Farooq again. But by then it was too late. Farooq was no longer alive. Fahad, drenched in the rain, looked at his brother's body with one glance. It seemed that along with his brother, all the fear inside Fahad died.

That day, Farooq died, but Fahad's name was taken away. Fahad disappeared from society. And then he returned as

The Gentleman.

A person who does not know the meaning of fear. A person who sees the world as dirt. He thinks the world is not beautiful. He only sees justice. He only wants revenge for his brother. He is someone who even his death is part of his plan. He is The Gentleman.

To Be Continued.
