Between Words and Worlds

Have you ever felt the urge to throw your book or phone because of a novel's ending that wasted your time and money and wasn't what you expected? ​"The hero sacrificed himself to erase an age of chaos and create an age of happiness," I said, trying to restrain myself from tearing the book, and I turned to my friends, hoping they would have an explanation that would convince me this ending wasn't that bad. ​"Haaaaaa, this is the first time I'm sad I won the bet!" ​"Wait, wait, wait... Are you saying this is really the end?" ​"You mean my favorite character died for an ending like this?" ​"My time... my time that went to waste, why didn't I use it to sleep instead of reading this ending?" ​"You lost your time, but me, I lost my money." ​"Created an age of happiness... This is complete nonsense!" ​What did I expect from them? Seriously, I sighed as I looked back at them. This novel had lived with us for more than ten years, so I imagined what if we were a part of it, and I smiled, knowing that if we were there, we would destroy the entire novel's system. ​And now, who would have thought that their encouragement for me to throw it in the trash was the reason for what happened to us?
