On a cold, rainy night in a beautiful city, the sound of gunshot echoed loudly but the sound was swiftly overshadowed by the loud rumbling of thunder.
Two more gunshot sounds followed but no one could hear them due to the heavy rainfall and loud thunder.
Using this to their advantage, four burly men swiftly left the scene with their feet splashing against small puddles of water as they picked up the pace, leaving behind a young man sitting on the floor with his back leaning against the wall.
His name was Han and he groaned in pain as the side of his shirt slowly got soaked in red.
He could even taste his blood in his mouth as he coughed while adding pressure to his stomach, where he had just been shot.
'Is this it?'
'Is this the end?'
'Is this really how I'm going to die?' Han uttered these words in his mind as he finds it hard to believe that he had been shot, not once, not twice, but three times.
Now, he was losing a lot of blood and it was only a matter of time before he bleeds out to death.
Realizing this, Han wondered how things had gone wrong and why he had suddenly found himself in this situation.
Until now, he had been living a simple life as a host bar where he would simply sit in an underground drinking club and attend to beautiful and wealthy women of the city.
His job was to simply provide comfort to these wealthy and single businesswomen who always had one or two complaints about how boring and lonely their lives currently were.
Since men around them were not brave enough to ask them out on a date, these women always wondered if they weren't attractive enough to entice their opposite gender, and so they decided to sought out people like Han for comfort.
Of course, Han's job limited him to just drinking and comforting his clients with words by telling them how beautiful and amazing he thinks they are, and somehow it always made these ladies happy because to them, it felt amazing to see a young and handsome man in his late twenties, treating them like a queen.
But since the pay was really good, Han had no reason to complain about his job.
After all, it wasn't easy to earn thousands of dollars in this current economy, so Han was really appreciative of the kind of life he was living.
However, there were times when his clients would need more than just flirty words and sweet compliments.
These women would demand something more intimate and since they were always willing to triple the pay, who was he to say no to such generous offers.
Moreover, most of his clients were either in their early or late thirties, so everyone of them were still in their prime but they were just a bit insecure about their beauties.
And so, Han continued to live his life like this, but unlike others in the same line of work as him, Han always drew a line between himself and clients who were already married.
He never accepted the offers to comfort ladies in this category because of personal reasons known only to him, but unbeknownst to him, a client had lied to him about being single and now, her husband had tracked and ordered thugs to dispose of him, leading to the three gunshots aimed at his chest, thigh and stomach.
*Sighs*
Han sighed softly as his eyelids grew heavier by the second.
He had no siblings or families right now, so he doubted if anyone would really miss him upon finding his dead body the following morning.
Well, maybe some of his clients would miss him, but none of them were really as close to him as how a family would be.
So they probably would mourn his death for only a couple of hours before moving on with their lives.
Pushing these thoughts aside for now, Han groaned in pain once again and the sound of rain grew softer as his eyes closed shut.
Silence followed as he took his last breath and his body finally shut down.
But in the next second, his eyes flung wide open and Han gasped as though he has just woken up from a terrible nightmare.
His chest heaved heavily as Han realized he was no longer in the street feeling cold with the rain hammering down on him.
The bright light of the room made it difficult for him to see clearly so he waited for his eyes to get accustomed to the lightning of the room.
Once he could see his surrounding more clearly, the first thing Han noticed was the ceiling and the soft bed he was sleeping on.
The air smelled of medicine and cleaning spray, so this made him to realize that he was currently in a hospital.
Then he placed a hand on his stomach where he had just been shot but he felt no pain.
The same goes to his thigh and chest as well.
In fact, it felt like all the pain in his body had been completely healed.
'But how?' Han wondered as he looked around the room.
He could see a chair, a bedside table and a machine that was beeping slowly next to his bed.
Then Han turned his attention to the window and his eyes noticed the thin curtains moving slowly with the wind.
He could also hear the sound of cars moving along the road but his eyes widened in fear and his heart stopped beating for a split second when his gaze witnessed a large beast with wings flying as it passed by the window.
"What was that?" Han swiftly sat up on his bed as he tried to make sense of what he had just saw but then a blue screen floated in front of his face with glowing words displayed on it.
