The Third Elder, Takuya, sneered: "Rebellion? Konoha was built by both the Uchiha and the Senju. Yet to this day, not a single Uchiha sits among the Hokage or even the Council. Our only influence is the Police Force! Is that all we deserve?!"
The hall erupted in arguments. Most voices agreed.
"That's right! We need representation! We need power!"
"Clan Head, give the order!"
The Fourth Elder was flustered. Normally, Shisui would support him, but Shisui wasn't here today.
Fugaku kept his expression unreadable, giving no reply.
Suddenly, his eyes snapped open, and all turned to see Kawasaki enter the hall.
Fugaku spoke: "Kawasaki, you are now an acting elder. You have the right to speak. I want to hear your opinion."
"Opinion?!" Kawasaki froze.
"What's the point of this discussion?! Shisui is at death's door right now, and you're sitting here holding a damn meeting!" Kawasaki's voice rose with urgency.
Damn it! The house is on fire and they're still debating!
Fugaku's eyes narrowed.
"Kawasaki, is this true?"
Kawasaki waved sharply. "No time to explain! Kai, Lucas, Yuta—take your squads and follow me! Grace, you come too—we may need your medical skills!"
Shisui was well-liked, with many friends in the clan. Kawasaki named those closest to him.
The group immediately stood and followed Kawasaki out of the hall.
Fugaku sat in silence, his face dark. The Third and Fourth Elders also fell quiet.
Even the cautious Fourth Elder knew that in times of life and death, no one could afford to sit idle.
After a long pause, Fugaku finally exhaled.
"Uchiha Takuya!" he barked suddenly.
"Yes!" The Third Elder stiffened—Fugaku rarely called him by name. When he did, it meant Fugaku was acting in his full authority as Clan Head.
"Gather all Uchiha warriors at once. Prepare for battle!"
Takuya's expression hardened. The scent of war was in the air.

Uchiha Grace hurried forward, her healing techniques at the ready. Because of Itachi, she too was close to Shisui.
Her heart trembled as she saw his broken body.
Shisui, one of the clan's greatest talents, reduced to this state—his Sharingan stolen, and all of it within the village of Konoha!
There was no time to summon more medics. Kawasaki remembered Grace's expertise in medical ninjutsu.
Under her urgent care, Shisui's condition finally stabilized.
