Chapter 1 - Starting to Farm Fragments

"Tao Wen, 25 years old, Chinese."

"Came to the United States five years ago to make a living, working as a chef. Disappeared a year ago."

"Appeared in New York half a month ago, arrested for smashing and grabbing at stores."

The magnetic voice echoed continuously, as if playing a movie.

Tao Wen slowly opened his eyes. Out of habit, he yawned widely, stretched, and instinctively reached forward, trying to turn off the speaker so he could go back to sleep.

"What the hell?"

This touch startled Tao Wen. It wasn't the familiar feeling of steel, but a slightly cold and smooth texture!

He suddenly opened his eyes, realizing he wasn't at his familiar computer desk, but in a ten-square-meter room. The room was exceptionally cold, making him shiver slightly. He was lying on a steel table, his right hand gripping a hand.

Specifically, a woman's hand!

"What a beautiful woman, am I dreaming?"

He looked up and saw a stunning woman sitting before him. She had short, golden hair cascading over her shoulders, exquisite features, and a captivating expression, making her a beauty beyond compare. What made his blood boil even more was her incredibly hot figure, enough to make anyone fall head over heels.

"But... she looks a bit like Natasha?"

After getting a good look at the woman's face, Tao Wen couldn't help but think of a name: Natasha, the infamous Black Widow from the Marvel universe!

"Let go!"

Natasha raised an eyebrow and said coldly to Tao Wen, but he didn't react for several seconds. This made Natasha, who was already a bit annoyed, furious. She wasn't known for her good temper.

Clang.

She flipped him over and pinned Tao Wen to the table.

"Ah—"

Tao Wen instinctively cried out. He had just started to struggle when the pressure on him suddenly eased, and he stood up.

The intense pain jolted Tao Wen awake. He was incredibly shocked as he looked around. He had transmigrated, and into the Marvel universe, a dangerous world teeming with heroes and villains.

Especially Thanos, the embodiment of ultimate fear, whose snap of his fingers would lead to a fifty-percent chance of being erased.

He had not only landed here.

He had just touched Natasha!

This was insane!

Only a few hours ago, he had been playing Draven, building a full six-item build, and fountain-camping for an hour. Did he really deserve this?!

"Behave yourself. If you don't want to end up as a TJ, sit down and be quiet."

Natasha shouted in anger and slammed the door as she left the interrogation room.

"But what's this?"

Tao Wen, sitting obediently in his seat, began to rub his eyes again. When he lowered his hands, he was shocked. It wasn't an illusion; a numerical value had indeed appeared before his eyes.

Fragments +3

He stared fixedly at the number, and after a few minutes, the value changed.

2/10

"What exactly is this?"

Tao Wen reached out his right hand, attempting to touch it, but it passed right through.

Bang!

Just as he was about to investigate further, the iron door was pushed open again. This time, it wasn't the beautiful Natasha who entered, but a cold man in a black vest. His gaze was particularly sharp.

Hawkeye, Clinton Barton!

Tao Wen, of course, recognized the man. He was another hero from S.H.I.E.L.D., especially skilled in ranged attacks, and also proficient in close combat.

"Don't be nervous, I don't mean any harm."

Barton sat down beside Tao Wen, speaking softly. He placed his bow and arrows on the ground, revealing a friendly smile.

Fragment +1

Tao Wen also wanted to remain calm, but under Barton's powerful presence, he couldn't help but tremble. However, his gaze quickly fixed on the numerical value. Why did it become a fragment again?

His confusion deepened, and at the same time, a hint of anticipation arose in his heart. Would this fragment be converted into that fixed numerical value?

"What are you looking at?" Barton's voice suddenly rang out.

Tao Wen was startled and immediately realized he was staring intently at Barton. Their eyes met, and his heart skipped a beat. However, he forced himself to explain, "I'm looking at you. My family told me that when speaking to someone, you should look them in the eye to show respect."

Barton: "You're lying. I clearly saw confusion in your eyes, and also… desire."

Tao Wen: "Are you sure you're not joking? Dude, my orientation is normal. I don't like men. I think there's something wrong with you."

Barton's expression darkened, and he coldly glanced at Tao Wen. "Tell me, what is Hydra sending you here for? And what do you desire to get from me?"

"Hydra? What's that? Some kind of ancient mythical beast? And what do I want? Of course, I want my freedom! I woke up and you locked me in this little black room. Who are you people!"

Tao Wen shouted.

"You don't know Hydra?"

Barton looked at Tao Wen, seeing no other expression in his eyes. "Then how did Hydra implant a chip in your body?"

With that, Barton grabbed Tao Wen's right arm and forcefully straightened it.

"What are you doing!"

Tao Wen cried out in pain, but when he saw the shiny object on his right arm, he was stunned.

It was a silver-white plate, connected to the inside of his body, and it had the Hydra symbol on it.

Looking at the Hydra symbol, Tao Wen's heart was filled with a storm of emotions. He was, of course, no stranger to this villainous organization from the Marvel world. He also knew that this evil organization was constantly plotting to rule the world and frequently conducted experiments on living subjects.

Fragment +1

The number appeared again, but Tao Wen had no interest in observing it. He quickly pulled his hand back.

Fragment +1

Tao Wen lowered his head and looked at his right arm. The Hydra insignia on his right arm was so conspicuous, like a devil's badge, making him feel exceptionally bad.

Hydra wouldn't implant anything in someone. The only possibility was that his body had been experimented on by Hydra, just like the Winter Soldier!

"No need to ask anymore. He really doesn't know about Hydra. Even his previous memories have probably all disappeared. The only memories he retains are from after he came to America."

Just as Barton was considering whether to use force to pry open Tao Wen's mouth, the closed iron door was pushed open again.

A tall, one-eyed black man walked in and said loudly, "And he doesn't have much time left to live. He'll be dead in at most a month."
