Chapter 0:
Life throws whatever things at you, and it expects you to fold under. It is a cruel mistress that just takes and takes from you. All the while offering nothing back in return. Only by taking the messy morsel aspirants can one take any sense of joy in life.
For you are not owed anything, nothing is simply given to you. If you want something you must earn it. That was the life lesson I've learned through many trails. This fact had always been consistent, hammering itself into my life every step of the way. As if to say to never forget about it. Just like the hellish witch that betrayed me and force me into this life of unpaid servitude.
Now I just go about the days like a drone. Nothing to go for me, not anymore anyway. I have lost my purpose, my 'lovely' wife ripped that away from my soul along with my family. Whom wasn't mine to begin with, the children weren't mine. Years of loyalty rewarded with dishonestly and betrayal.
Everything I've lived for, worked to the bone to support all of it was nought but lies. None were available who would sympathize with my pain. Again, why should they? They are not obligated to just as I'm not entitled to such treatment. So, spare me your pity, I have no need for it. I need not more reason for things to spiral even further down the drain in my life.
Of course, nothing ever goes right for a man at his weakest. For Fate is a cruel mistress that enjoys the thrill of toying with her prey.
