Chapter 1 - Rebirth

General POV

A young man stepped off the train, relieved that his final project presentation was behind him. University was almost over, and for the first time in months he felt lighter. The sky, however, did not share his mood. Dark clouds gathered above, the rumble of thunder rolling through the station.

He opened his umbrella just as the first drops of rain fell. At least I came prepared, he thought. If his laptop got wet, all his hard work would have been for nothing.

What he didn't notice was the strange tension in the storm clouds. They weren't simply carrying rain—they were gathering power.

Protagonist POV

"Good thing I brought this umbrella. Didn't wanna test if this laptop bag's waterproof, ahahaha," he muttered, half to himself.

The laugh died in his throat. A blinding flash split the sky. His world vanished in an instant.

No rain.No sound.No light.No breath.

Just… nothing. Endless, suffocating darkness.

General POV

The strike had not been natural lightning. It was power—divine, chaotic, and careless. In a single instant, it ended his life and tore his soul from reality, hurling it into the Void.

A place where something waited. Something ancient, powerful, and bored.

The Void

R.O.B. (Random Omnipotent Being):"Well, would you look at that. I actually hit someone. HAHAHAHA! Finally—my entertainment has arrived!"

The laughter boomed through the Void, rattling it like glass.

"Let's calm down a bit. Don't want to accidentally kill my entertainment before we even begin."

Amid the infinite dark, a speck of light floated helplessly. It was so small it could have slipped between atoms, flickering weakly as it drifted without direction.

Protagonist POV

"W-what the hell just happened?! Why can't I move? Why can't I feel anything?!" the light panicked, glowing erratically.

"Did I just get kidnapped? Was that a truck? Lightning?!"

Before he could spiral further, the Void itself warped—and he was pulled away.

R.O.B. POV

"This one?" the being mused. "Weak-willed. Lazy. Nothing special. Hah. With some training, maybe he'll be worth watching."

With a thought, he pulled the fragile soul into a safer space.

"Welcome, lucky one… to your new beginning."

General POV

A throne room unfolded out of the nothingness. The walls shimmered with fragments of countless universes, stitched together like stained glass. At its center stood a throne, carved not of stone, but of entire realities. Upon it sat a figure made of blinding light edged in darkness. (Imagine "Truth" from Fullmetal Alchemist.)

The speck of light shivered, before slowly reshaping into a faint, transparent version of the man he once was.

"W-what was that?" he stammered. Fear rooted him in place as the figure studied him with a smirk.

He survived the Void without unraveling. Stronger now, even. This might be interesting after all, the being thought.

"Welcome to the afterlife, young man," it said smoothly. "Answer quickly, or I'll send you into a random world with a random power."

The soul froze. The words sank in, cold and sharp. He was dead. Truly dead. His heart clenched at the thought of his parents, his siblings, his friends—faces he would never see again.

"…Hello, sir," he said cautiously. "What happens now? Heaven? Hell? Or… reincarnation?"

R.O.B. POV

"No heaven or hell for you," R.O.B. replied casually. "You weren't good. You weren't bad. You were… mid, as your people say."

'Mid?! Who even says that? What is this guy, a boomer?! WAIT—can he hear me thinking?!' the soul panicked.

"Yes, I can," R.O.B. answered with a grin. "And no, I'm not a boomer. I'm older than time. Try older than everything."

"Oh sh*t—sorry, sir! I didn't mean it!"

"Relax," the being chuckled. "You're taking death better than most."

The soul exhaled shakily. "I can't change it. I just… hope my family won't grieve too long."

"Touching. But let's move on. You died by accident, so I'll give you a second chance. You can't go back to your old world, though."

"'Accident'? What do you mean?"

"Well…" R.O.B. smirked. "I fired off a spark of power into your world to snag some entertainment. And, well… it snagged you."

"YOU—YOU KILLED ME?! That's not an accident!"

The soul glowed angrily, but R.O.B.'s eyes narrowed.

"Calm down. Or I'll obliterate you and fetch another soul."

He fell silent, trembling. "…Okay, sir."

Not that he liked it—but what choice did he have?

"So… can I pick any world?" he asked carefully. "Like Game of Thrones,The Walking Dead, or even… Harry Potter?" His glow brightened with hope at the last one.

"Any world," R.O.B. confirmed. "And I'll even give you a small bonus."

A warm surge of light entered the soul, making it tremble with a mix of fear and exhilaration.

"What was that?"

"Your bonus. It will take a form familiar to you. Now choose: reincarnation, or transmigration?"

"…Can I mix both? Not born as a baby, but not stealing someone else's life either?"

The being's grin widened. "Interesting. That can be arranged. You'll reincarnate, but your memories will awaken later."

"Thank you, sir. Then… I choose the world of Harry Potter. It's my favorite series. I've read countless fanfics."

"Harry Potter," R.O.B. repeated with amusement. "Very well. But not exactly the one you know. Think of it as… an alternate version. A little twisted. A little dangerous."

He raised a hand, tearing a hole in reality. Earth shimmered beyond.

"The world is chosen. Now—your body and timeline."

Character Creation

A glowing screen appeared before the soul, like a 3D character creation menu.

"Wait. This is… literally a character creation screen?"

"Exactly."

The soul's eyes widened, excitement sparking. "OHHH. Let's go!"

Timeline: Same age as Harry Potter.

Lineage:

Heir of Le Fay

Heir of Slytherin

Heir of Merlin

Possible Heir of Potter

Possible Heir of Black

Appearance:

Tall, nearly 6'11", with an imposing frame.

A cascade of black hair streaked faintly with crimson, purple , and silver-white framed his face, catching the light with an otherworldly shimmer.

His eyes, a rare fusion of deep purple and red, glowed with a faint silver-white halo around the iris, as if holding secrets the world was not yet ready to understand.

There was a presence about him that combined Sephiroth's cold, effortless elegance with Shiba Tatsuya's razor-sharp intensity—a figure both magnetic and unsettling, impossible to ignore.

The soul leaned back, satisfied. "Done."

R.O.B. stared. Then burst into roaring laughter.

"HAHAHAHA! Oh, this is perfect. You've set yourself up for chaos and you don't even realize it. I can't wait to watch."

"…What's that supposed to mean?" the soul asked nervously.

"You'll see. Off you go."

With a flick of his wrist, the throne room shattered. The soul was hurled into the rift, screaming all the way down.

"AAAAAAAAHHHHH! WHY DIDN'T YOU JUST TELEPORT ME?!"

R.O.B. reclined on his throne, grin stretching wide. "Ahahaha… this will be entertaining indeed."
