Chapter 1: Undercover Agent
"Hiruzen, hand Hoshikawa over to me!"
Shimura Danzo spoke gravely, getting straight to the point. "He's too dangerous! He might be a spy from Kumogakure!"
"He's not."
Sarutobi Hiruzen tapped his pipe, his voice calm.
"Don't forget what happened with Kushina being kidnapped by Kumogakure!"
Shimura Danzo snorted coldly, reminding him, "Hoshikawa is an orphan adopted by Nonō, he should have joined Root."
"Are you teaching me how to do my job?"
Sarutobi Hiruzen's eyes narrowed slightly as he spoke. "You need to understand, the orphanage is Konoha's orphanage, not Root's orphanage."
Danzo was somewhat annoyed at this, and couldn't help but say, "Hiruzen, you—"
"Are you going to say I'll regret it?"
Sarutobi Hiruzen cut him off, saying, "I won't regret it."
Shimura Danzo choked, his speech system in disarray.
Damn you, Hiruzen, was this also part of your plan?
Should I congratulate you? Have you learned to answer before I even finish? Those were my lines!
He also wanted to say, "I am the Hokage," but he couldn't.
Bang!
Shimura Danzo stormed out in a huff.
He took a few steps, then suddenly turned around and said, "Hiruzen, you will regret this!"
After saying this, his mood improved considerably.
"..."
Sarutobi Hiruzen looked at the empty doorway and shook his head.
An Hokage's advisor acts like this, only needing to talk back. But as the Hokage, one must consider many things.
"Haru, get someone to replace the door. Put the cost on Danzo's tab."
Sarutobi Hiruzen looked down at Hoshikawa's file on the desk.
Hoshikawa, male, six years old, war orphan, adopted by Yakushi Nonō.
During a ninja examination by the Yamanaka clan, he exhibited terrifying mental power.
Upon investigation, it was not due to a pre-planted spy jutsu but an innate Yin Release Sage Body.
Without any training, his mental power was several times stronger than his peers.
"Nonō is Danzo's subordinate; he shouldn't stay in the orphanage."
Sarutobi Hiruzen mused thoughtfully.
Yin Release represents mental power, like the secret techniques of the Yamanaka and Nara clans, or the Sharingan.
But ninja clan secret techniques are never taught to outsiders.
Unless it's a civilian ninja.
"Yūhi Shinku."
Sarutobi Hiruzen's heart stirred.
Yūhi Shinku, a civilian Jonin skilled in genjutsu, and also an instructor for Chunin and Genin, was a perfect fit.
Hoshikawa's eyes snapped open. He felt pain all over, as if he'd hit the jackpot or been ravaged by dozens of young women.
He looked at the unfamiliar ceiling, subconsciously glancing around, a bewildered expression on his face.
Where the hell did I end up? Is this still my room?
Where are my figures of Rin Tohsaka, Celestia, Tsunade, and Tifa?
As he was in a daze, something suddenly forced its way in, and countless memories began to flash back.
He had transmigrated, or rather, awakened his past life's memories.
Good news: He was now in Konoha Village.
Hoshikawa had watched Naruto, and in the chaotic Shinobi world, Konoha Village was relatively safe.
If he was careful and waited for the protagonist duo, Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha, to save the world, he might even survive until the end.
Bad news: He was a spy from Kumogakure.
Hoshikawa was born in Kumogakure and, due to his extraordinary quick-wittedness, was chosen as a spy and sent to Konoha to gather intelligence.
Soon, he faced his first challenge: an examination.
In Konoha, the Yamanaka clan's secret techniques could make corpses speak, let alone living people.
But he had fainted during the examination.
Thinking of this, Hoshikawa couldn't help but break into a cold sweat, restless.
Had he been exposed?
The fate of an undercover agent was well-documented in Infernal Affairs.
Just then, several lines of text appeared in his vision.
[System Loading...]
[You have loaded the Ninja Lexicon System.]
[Achieve specific conditions to obtain corresponding entries; certain special entries can be evolved and synthesized into higher-level entries.]
[Entries are divided into E, D, C, B, A, S ranks; there are three main categories: Ninjutsu, Ninja Tools, and Talent.]
"Hm?"
Hoshikawa couldn't help but widen his eyes.
Had his cheat arrived?
As a "three-no" ninja—no bloodline, no secret technique, no ninja clan—it was hard to move an inch in the Shinobi world.
Now there was finally hope. As soon as he thought of this, he couldn't help but hum lightly.
Hoshikawa studied the system and found it extremely simple, with only one lexicon panel displaying the entries he had currently acquired.
[A-rank Talent Entry: Lurker.]
[Trigger Condition: Novice Gift Package.]
[Effect: Unless actively exposed, your memories cannot be窥探 (peered into).]
[Note: Cannot be synthesized.]
Very good.
The classic novice gift package.
Hoshikawa couldn't help but let out a long sigh of relief; now he didn't have to worry about the Yamanaka clan's secret techniques.
[C-rank Talent Entry: Innate Full Soul.]
[Trigger Condition: Fusion of Two Souls.]
[Effect: Yin Release talent increases by 100% based on original foundation.]
[Note: Cannot be synthesized.]
Why isn't Innate Full Soul Power awakening Blue Silver... oh no, Wood Release?
Hoshikawa fell silent.
Yin Release is tricky.
He didn't have the Sharingan, nor was he from the Yamanaka or Nara clans. Should he learn genjutsu?
But genjutsu users, let's not even mention them.
Kurenai Yūhi spent her entire life studying genjutsu, yet it was nothing compared to an Uchiha casually activating their Sharingan.
Since things have come to this, let's eat first.
Hoshikawa felt an intense hunger.
He suddenly showed a look of regret.
"Damn it! My Excalibur!"
Hoshikawa remembered before he transmigrated, he was playing Duel Links late at night, doing the "head rub" emote. He closed his eyes, opened them, and an entire lifetime had passed.
He didn't know what state his past self was in, but if he was missing, his phone would surely be cracked open.
Just thinking about it made him overheat.
The sound of a door opening.
Hoshikawa subconsciously looked up at the girl who had just entered.
Calling her a girl wasn't accurate; she was a delicately beautiful loli.
Most striking were her ruby-like eyes.
Hoshikawa couldn't help but show confusion.
Who was this?
Where exactly was he?
It definitely wasn't the orphanage; he had an impression of all the children there.
But for him, this was a good thing.
Yakushi Nonō, who managed the orphanage, was Shimura Danzo's subordinate.
If the "Pot-Kage" set his sights on him, he would be thoroughly indoctrinated with the Will of Root, unable to escape a broken fate.
"You're awake?"
Kurenai Yūhi said with a smile, "I'm Kurenai Yūhi."
"Hoshikawa."
Hoshikawa looked at the pretty loli's smile, and his mood involuntarily relaxed.
It was Kurenai Yūhi, not the "Sunset Red" I was thinking of!
In the original story, she married Asuma Sarutobi and eventually became a widow.
"Can you walk?"
Kurenai Yūhi paused, then said, "I'll take you to see my dad. He'll explain everything to you."
"I can walk."
Hoshikawa got out of bed, silently calculating.
Kurenai Yūhi's father was Yūhi Shinku.
So, was his father named Yūhi Very Red?
The name was a bit casual, but he wasn't Danzo's subordinate.
As a genjutsu Jonin, whoever could command him was most likely the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi.
The reason it was Hiruzen Sarutobi and not Minato Namikaze was because Kurenai Yūhi was too young; it was probably before the Fourth Hokage's era.
While Hiruzen Sarutobi had his controversies, he truly dedicated his life to Konoha Village.
Compared to Shimura Danzo, he was benevolent, at least he wouldn't place cursed seals in your private parts, like the Tongue Sealing Jutsu.
This story is lighthearted, overpowered, and features multiple heroines.
