Grey ash fell on the crimson battlefield which was literred with corpses of tens of thousands of people and even then the ash couldn't cover up the sheer amount of blood and mangled bodies.
It was a scene of carnage and at the centre of all of this sat a woman in clear white robes. Even with all the destruction and blood around her, the robes remained crystal clear.
But her complexion wasn't good.
Surrounding her were hundreds of people who were known throughout the world as the strongest powerhouses. Yet these same people who controlled lives of countless people had gathered their forces to kill her.
The woman couldn't help but laugh in amusement at their antics. She was exhausted, beyond exhausted after continuous fighting of months where she had to slay one person after another.
All because these greedy, selfish people couldn't tolerate her existence. All because they wanted what belonged to her.
They might not be exhausted from all the lives that were lost in this meaningless war, but she definitely was tired of all the killing.
Even if she could win now, she didn't think it would be worth everything she had to sacrifice and the lives she had taken.
Still, she had no regrets.
"Is that what you all wanted?" Evelyn laughed and asked. "You know you can't defeat me so you used your vicious schemes to make me mentally exhausted."
"So you finally caught on, huh. But it's already too late. Give up, Evelyn. It's not worth it. Give us the Magic Cube." A dragon with a giant head and golden body that spanned many kilometres spoke, his voice echoing in the vast crimson battlefield.
"Indeed. None of this would have happened if you had shared the Magic Cube with us. Why are you so fixated on keeping it's secrets with yourself?" A woman with deep black hair who was Head of Strongest Merchent Association said.
Just like that, others also expressed their thoughts which would have made any normal person be filled with many regrets. But who was Evelyn?
The Mad Empress who had ruled over the world through sheer strength. How could she be swayed by these petty words of scheming people?
She laughed even harder upon hearing their nonsense. Seriously, for their own selfish desires, they let so many people die and yet they had the audacity to act as victims.
"Have you really gone mad?"
"Perhaps, I have," Evelyn sighed. "But I am still better all of you hypocrites. You want my Magic Cube, right? You want it's secrets, right? Then let me show you how it's true power."
With that, she took out a silver cube from her chest which looked no different than an ordinary cube. But the powerhouse all around her had their breathing hitched.
This small thing was the reason for so many deaths and also the reason they dared to confront the Mad Empress herself.
It had been centuries and the myth about the Magic Cube never died. Many people believed it was just another myth and rumours, but Evelyn's rise changed everything.
She rose way too quickly and overpowered the whole world. Everyone naturally believed that the secrets of her sudden rise lied in that cube.
Now that the same cube was before them, how could they control themselves?
However, the sudden change in Evelyn's attitude also made them cautious even though they were the one who set it up. They just couldn't believe that she would release the cube so easily.
So they didn't hesitate to attack any longer and used all kinds of Divine Abilities that would eradicated whole worlds, yet all of them vanished before getting even close to Evelyn.
"I-Impossible! How can she still resist us? All of us used our Strongest attacks!"
"Idiot! It's the Magic Cube that helped her."
"That's right! But what should we do now?"
"I'm wondering the same thing."
Meanwhile, Evelyn just continued to stare at the Magic Cube before she gave the command, "Erase all of their existence aside from their memories and experience. Collect them and store within yourself."
She sighed, "I hope your next hier is better and can use those memories well. They are from the world's best after all. As for the price, you can take my life and soul."
[Missy, are you sure you wanna do this?]
"Yes. I'm already too tired of this life and also the weakness you gave me."
[I'm sorry but a flaw is necessary for having the system.]
"Yes, I know that. That's why I'm asking you to end all of this and take good care of my successor."
[... understood!]
[Commencing Order! Wiping out all existence around Evelyn Frost!]
The magic cube began to hover in the sky as it released a harrowing wave which instantly weakened everyone around her.
"N-no! She is trying to kill us with herself. She's gone mad!"
"Agh!! I shouldn't have agreed to this."
Many of them began to regret their decision of coming here when they realised they couldn't even run away from the Magic Cube.
They had taken every protective measure to deal with Evelyn and had even exhausted her to reveal all her triumph card while sitting at the back.
Yet, this mad woman still held something else in palm which could destroy all of them.
One of the Middle-aged man with flowing golden dragon robes stood up and glared at Evelyn in hatred.
"Evelyn, you rejected me because I'm a man, right? You despised us men so I curse you right under the heavens and amidst the deaths of countless warriors. You will have an insatiable Lust that can never be satisfied with just one man. You will spend the rest of your life serving the very beings you despised and there's nothing you would be able to do about it."
"Are you an idiot? When did I despise men? Also, I am already dying so it doesn't matter...."
Before Evelyn could continue, a familiar voice sounded in her ears.
[Forcefully changing the protocol! Changing the commenced orders.]
"What?"
[I am sorry, Missy for everything. This is the only way I can help you.]

Then, the world darkened and Evelyn lost her life before even understanding what happened to her.
