Synopsis
Summoned to a wild, untamed world teeming with monsters and magic, Kai is granted a power unlike any other-Chosen, a skill that allows him to breed and bond with monsters in ways no one else can. But survival in AmoreKage isn't guaranteed, especially for a cocky, street-smart loner thrown into the deep end with nothing but instincts and libido. After taming a fiercely loyal wolf pup named Nyla and clashing blades (and egos) with the icy and enigmatic elf, Yuki, Kai begins to build more than just a harem-he starts forging a path toward something greater. A purpose. A legacy. But beneath the banter and steamy tension, danger brews. Monster instincts run wild. Jealousy festers. Bonds are tested. And when Kai's companions reveal monstrous truths-both beautiful and terrifying-he must ask himself: is he the master of this world... or just another piece being moved? Equal parts witty, raw, and emotionally charged, The Chosen Skill blends action, dark fantasy, and sensuality in a story of found family, fractured loyalty, and evolution-of monsters, yes, but more importantly, of hearts.

Chapter 1 – Summoned, Sorta

By Dri

"Weather's been nice lately."

I yawned as I unlocked the door to my cramped little studio. Calling it cozy was generous—it was the kind of place where turning sideways meant bumping into a wall or your own regrets. Still, it was home.

"Back to business," I muttered, flopping into my seat in front of the computer.

Lately, I'd been deep into this monster breeding game. Hooked, honestly. There was something addictive about seeing weird combinations come to life—it scratched an itch in my brain I didn't know I had. Plus, the devs were unapologetic degenerates. Every breeding scene was animated in loving, lewd detail.

Did that make me a degenerate too?

"Nah," I laughed, rubbing my chin. "I just ain't been laid in a minute."

Well... technically, it had only been a minute. I'd just left my professor's place across the street. She needed "help" grading papers, poured us some drinks, and wore a negligee so sheer I could see what she was thinking. One thing led to another, and next thing I knew, I was giving my biology professor the pounding of her academic life.

We went for hours—or at least it felt like it. Blew through every condom I had, and even after she tapped out, I squeezed in two more rounds for good measure.

Thinking back, I was rock hard all over again.

"Damn. This ain't going away without help."

I reached for the top drawer. But just as my fingers brushed it, my vision flared white.

Suddenly, my body was yanked in every direction at once. Stretched, crushed, spun inside out.

It hurt like a bitch—no lie.

When the light faded, I was face-down, ass-up in a puddle of mud and God-knows-what.

"...Man, what the fuck?"

I groaned, pushing myself up and looking around.

Two suns blazed overhead—one crimson, one pale blue. Gorgeous, in a terrifying, alien-sky kind of way. Around me, nothing but forest. Tall trees, thick trunks, and air that practically shimmered with life. Birds chirped. Insects buzzed. The breeze smelled like moss and distant flowers.

Still, something felt... off. Like the whole forest was holding its breath. Watching.

"I may not be Dorothy, but this sure as hell ain't Kansas," I muttered. "Not that I was ever there. Georgia boy."

Pause.

"...Wait. Isekai'd? I thought that was just for Japanese kids and salarymen. Am I Japanese?"

I looked down at my hands. "Nah. Still Black as hell. Must be a system error."

Right on cue, a chime echoed in my skull, and a glowing blue screen popped up:

You have been granted the Unique Skill: CHOSEN.

"...Damn," I blinked. "This shit is broken. A thousand percent sex appeal? I'm about to be irresistible—well, more irresistible."

And a new skill every five levels? Absolute cheat code.

From the looks of it, humans weren't gonna be too fond of me here. Honestly, probably for the best.

Rustle.

Something moved in the bushes.

Again. Closer this time.

I dismissed the screen and squared up. No weapons, no armor—but I still had these hands.

"You out there? Make your move. I ain't got all day."

Something burst from the brush and leapt over my head. I spun, tracking it—a wolf-looking creature with three tails landed behind me, teeth bared.

It was... kinda cute. Even while snarling.

New screen popped up:

Beowyr Pup – F Rank

Status: Tameable – Cautious

"Whoa, hey there little guy," I said, raising a hand. "We don't gotta be enemies."

The pup barked—and lunged.

I snapped back just in time to dodge the bite.

"Guess it's a fight, then."

I dropped into my usual southpaw stance. Not a pro, but I'd put in time on the heavy bag. Enough to feel dangerous one-on-one.

It charged—fast, but straightforward. I sidestepped and cracked it in the jaw with a hook.

Wham.

It hit the dirt, dazed.

I dropped a knee on its back and pinned it. It squirmed and growled, but eventually stilled with a whine.

Another prompt flashed:

Taming Opportunity – Accept?

[Yes] [No]

I hit Yes without hesitation.

The moment I did, the pup relaxed. It nudged my leg, tail wagging.

A name appeared:

Name: Nyla (♀)

"Well hey there, Nyla," I grinned. "Cute name."

She puffed out her chest, proud.

"All right, it's kinda cute," I teased.

She growled. I think the neg hit.

[Level Up! – Kai – Level 3]

New Skills:

– Fancy Footwork – Boosts movement and evasion

– Champion Hook – Enhanced power and precision when throwing hooks

"So the system thinks my sidestep was 'fancy,' huh?"

I checked Nyla's status screen. She tilted her head like an anime girl.

She was a rare monster—F Rank for now, but her evolution potential was marked S Tier. Jackpot.

Only Level 1, but had natural tracking and claws. Her evolution tree had five colored paths—blue, red, white, yellow, green—but most were still locked behind question marks.

Too much to worry about now. Still needed food, water, and a safe place to sleep.

"You know a spot a guy can drink?"

Nyla barked once, then turned and trotted off. A ping echoed in my head—somehow, I knew she meant, "Follow me."

New Skill Unlocked:

Mutual Understanding

Improves communication with tamed monsters.

"Neat."

I jogged after her, heart pounding with nerves and excitement.

This was it.

A brand new world.

We moved through the forest with Nyla leading the way—her three tails swaying like metronomes. Every few steps she'd pause to sniff the air or paw at the ground, then glance back at me like, Keep up, dummy.

"Alright, alright," I muttered, stepping over a root. "You act like you've been doing this your whole life."

She barked once—smug as hell.

The forest was alive in a way Earth never was. Not just alive—aware. The trees creaked with purpose. Shadows shifted even when nothing moved. Birds didn't sing—they harmonized, warbling notes that made the hairs on my arms stand up. Insects buzzed at frequencies that rattled my teeth.

This wasn't just another world.

It was one with its own rules.

I pulled up the system menu, hoping to find a map. No dice. Just a basic HUD: level, XP, skills. Still Level 3, with 45% XP toward the next.

"Wherever you're taking me," I muttered, "it better not end with me getting eaten."

Nyla flicked her ear like she'd heard me—and wasn't ruling it out.

Fifteen minutes later, after losing a fight with a few thorn bushes, we broke through the trees into a clearing.

Sunlight streamed through the canopy above, catching the surface of a clear, winding stream. Birds scattered. A pair of freakishly long-legged rabbits bounded off like they owed someone money.

"Yo, this ain't bad," I said, kneeling by the water.

I dipped my fingers in. Cool. Clean. No dead fish floating or rainbow-slick weirdness.

Tasted earthy—like moss and fresh air—but didn't burn my throat. Good enough.

I cupped another handful to drink. That's when Nyla growled.

Low. Deep. A sound with weight.

I wiped my mouth and turned. "What is it now?"

She stood frozen, eyes locked on the far treeline. Ears pinned. Tails raised.

Then I heard it—branches cracking, slow and heavy.

Another popup flared to life:

[Warning: Unknown Threat Approaching]

I stood slowly. The underbrush parted.

Out stepped a creature the size of a horse, plated in jagged, natural armor. Four limbs, thick as logs, moved with brutal weight. It had a wide, flat head with twitching mandibles and eyes that glowed radioactive green.

Vorax Lizard – D Rank

Hostile – Aggressive – Incompatible for Taming

"...Well, shit."

I edged back. "Yo, Nyla... got any backup stashed somewhere?"

She didn't answer. Just barked once and slid in front of me, crouched low in a battle stance.

The Vorax hissed.

And charged.

"Move!" I dove aside.

It plowed through where I'd just been, flattening small trees and gouging a trench into the dirt.

Nyla darted in, claws slashing across its side. Sparks flew—but the cut barely broke through.

The beast roared, spinning, and slammed her with its tail.

She yelped, crashing into the grass.

"Nyla!" I ran toward her.

She was hurt—but not down. Her eyes blazed. She snarled, baring teeth like a demon pup on caffeine.

I turned back to the lizard. No weapon. No magic.

Just fists.

"Alright," I muttered, bouncing on the balls of my feet, "let's see if Champion Hook works on reptiles."

I feinted left. Slid right. Threw everything I had into a hook aimed at its ugly-ass jaw.

Crack.

It staggered—barely.

Eyes locked on me now. Pissed.

I scrambled back, tripping over a root.

Nyla launched again—this time biting deep into the beast's throat, claws raking its shoulders.

The Vorax thrashed. Screeched. Tried to shake her off.

But she held.

I charged in, jumped, and slammed both fists into the side of its skull.

Snap.

The creature's legs buckled. It let out one last screech—then dropped.

Dead.

[Battle Complete – +150 XP]

[Kai – Level Up! – Level 4]

[Nyla – Level Up! – Level 2]

New Skill Gained: Savage Partner

I collapsed to my knees, gasping.

Nyla limped toward me, her side bleeding but her posture proud.

"You alright?" I asked, reaching out.

She leaned into my hand, panting hard, but she didn't fall.

Savage Partner

While fighting alongside a tamed monster, gain a 20% strength and speed bonus when bonded.

I looked at the corpse. Then at her.

"Damn girl. You're kind of a badass."

She sneezed on me.

I wiped my face. "Yeah, yeah. I love you too."
