Chapter 1 - 1. Stand User

In the Z City Police Station lobby, Kaito Joestar adjusted his collar, his expression serious as he faced the mirror.

The man reflected had black hair and blue eyes, and was undeniably handsome. His impressive one-meter-ninety-five build was well-trained, with chiseled facial features that appeared exceptionally resolute against the dark uniform. Every glance from him held a powerful deterrent.

Memories from his previous body indicated that he was a newly appointed patrol officer, which meant he held the lowest rank in the police force.

Kaito Joestar was a transmigrator. Upon transmigrating, he awakened a mental Superpower from the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure world: a Stand. The Stand's name was "Fantasy Cards." It appeared as a stack of unique cards, the size of playing cards, with their backs displaying a dark cosmic galaxy.

The Stand's ability was to imbue objects with the concept of "cards," turning them into Fantasy Cards and allowing him to control the power within them.

After one month of transmigration, his soul and body completely fused. Subsequently, Fantasy Cards awakened its second ability, "Destiny Draw." This allowed him to randomly draw one Fantasy Card each day, with the number of draws accumulating over time.

Evidently, Fantasy Cards was not the type of humanoid Stand that could directly engage in a barrage of Ora Ora punches. Its stats might be quite weak, but a weak stat panel often corresponds to a powerful core ability.

In Kaito's view, controlling the power of these cards was essentially rewriting reality with the power of fantasy, putting him just one divine draw away from a grandfather-level ability.

On the day the second ability awakened, a notification of "draw count +1" appeared in his mind. He didn't hesitate and immediately drew one. A blank card popped out from the deck, and a brilliant blue flame, the spiritual flame belonging to a Stand User, enveloped and burned it.

When the flame receded, the card's border turned a deep purple, and a pattern corresponding to the card's element—a red and blue spider—appeared on the blank card face.

[Fantasy Card: Spider Sense]

[Card Type: Ability Card]

[Rarity: SR]

[Description: A Spider Superpower, also known as "Peter's Tingle."]

[Effect 1: Danger Prediction]

[Increased adrenaline secretion accompanied by a tingling in the back of the head, hair standing on end, and other phenomena, alerting oneself to impending danger.]

[Effect 2: Spider Time]

[Greatly enhances reflexes, dynamic vision, and perception, allowing entry into a special state similar to "bullet time."]

There were also differences among Fantasy Cards, categorized by rarity levels into four tiers, each corresponding to a distinct border color:

N (Normal): White

R (Rare): Blue

SR (Super Rare): Purple

SSR (Superior Super Rare): Orange

Fantasy Cards made from objects without extraordinary elements were mostly N Cards. Kaito was quite lucky; his very first draw was an SR.

Following the method he learned intuitively, he grabbed the card floating in the air and pressed it against his chest. The moment they touched, the purple card silently shattered, transforming into countless sparkling light particles. These particles gathered and flowed back into his chest like metal dust attracted by a magnet.

Instantly, the Spider Superpower took effect. Kaito's five senses improved at an astonishing speed, as if he had entered a slow-motion world. For the first time, Kaito experienced the unique charm of a Superpower.

Another week passed, and after this period of exploration and practice, he became more proficient in using his Stand ability. For example, consider the current moment. After clocking in and getting his equipment, Kaito walked out of the police station gate and turned into the adjacent alley. He raised his right hand, palm open.

"Fantasy Cards!" His Stand ability activated! From Kaito's perspective, a brilliant blue mental flame ignited, enveloping his entire body, and a white-bordered Fantasy Card materialized, floating in mid-air.

From a passerby's perspective, the handsome young police officer simply pressed one hand against the brim of his police cap and raised the other, palm open—a scene that was quite chuunibyou-like.

[Fantasy Card: Small Police Motorcycle]

[Card Type: Item Card]

[Rarity: N Card]

[Description: A common small vehicle, commonly known as a "scooter."]

[Effect 1: Launch Start]

[Low fuel consumption, fierce acceleration, a must-have for tough guys, stylish and arrogant on the road.]

[Effect 2: Fuel Display]

[Remaining Fuel: 68%]

He reached out and picked up the white card in the air. With a cool and dazzling special effect, the scooter's seal was released, and it materialized in front of Kaito. Boom—the engine let out a wild roar. Kaito retracted the kickstand and straddled the bike. Beep beep beep beep... The scooter launched forward, carrying Kaito towards today's patrol area.

In the One-Punch Man World, after multiple global disasters, the surviving humans established a comprehensive government, and cities were named after letters. Z City, where Kaito was located, was the city where the Caped Baldy, Saitama, resided.

"Monsters, Heroes..." Kaito's thoughts churned on his scooter.

"Monsters", a unique product under this world's rules, were dangerous creatures that emerged for unknown reasons and brought harm to human society. Based on the degree of harm, difficulty of elimination, and various other factors, the official classification divided them into five disaster levels:

"Wolf": Organisms or groups that pose a danger.

"Tiger": A crisis involving a large number of casualties in an unspecified area.

"Ghost": A crisis where a town's functions cease or it is destroyed.

"Dragon": A crisis where several towns are destroyed.

"God": A crisis of human extinction.

As for "Heroes," one couldn't help but recall a news report from earlier. The wealthy tycoon Agoni, recognizable by his prominent butt chin, announced through the media that he would personally fund the establishment of a civilian organization specifically responsible for similar incidents, dedicated to eliminating Monsters and protecting lives. The organization's name was—the "Hero Association."

Next, the power of money activated! In just three months, this nascent civilian organization rapidly expanded under a massive influx of funds. Branches were established in major cities, recruiting strong individuals with the goal of eliminating Monsters and mitigating disasters. These groups of strong individuals, increasingly discussed by citizens, were known as "Heroes."
