Synopsis
Meet Daniel Maddox. The one and only heir of the Maddox empire. Only child. Only problem. My mum’s from British royalty—yeah, actual blue blood. My dad? Former U.S. President turned billionaire business tycoon. He ditched politics when I was still a kid and built an empire that tripled our fortune. Oh, and did I mention? He named a top-ranking high school after me. Cute, right? I’ve got money. Looks. Power. And girls? They fall at my feet like confetti. But love? Please. I don’t make a commitment. I don’t have feelings. I don’t apologize. If you come into my life, expect one thing and one thing only: a good time, not a long time. So yeah, call me what you want—arrogant, cold, heartless. I honestly don’t give a damn. Your opinion doesn’t pay my bills. And until someone proves me wrong? I’ll keep living exactly how I want.

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Her voice was breathless, her body arching beneath me, eyes half-lidded in a haze of lust. "D-Daniel..." she moaned, clinging to the sheets as I drove into her with all the intensity I could muster.I gripped her waist tighter, faster, rougher—chasing release like it was the only thing that mattered.Moments later, I hit my peak and pulled out, finishing carelessly against her trembling thighs. She gasped, collapsing onto the mattress, her chest heaving with exhaustion. I followed suit, lying beside her without a word. Not bad. Not the worst way to start my morning."You were... amazing," she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper as she reached for my chest.I didn't respond. Instead, I sat up and reached for my pants, slipping them on as the mood in the room shifted. "You can leave now," I said flatly, not bothering to look her in the eye. She blinked, confused. "W-What? Daniel, what are you saying? You're kicking me out... just like that?"

I turned slightly, just enough to meet her gaze over my shoulder. "I already got what I wanted. What else is there to talk about?" Her lips parted, stunned. "Are you seriously acting like all I was to you was a one-night stand?"

"Did I ever promise you more?" I asked coldly. "You knew what this was from the beginning, Danielle. You agreed without hesitation, so don't play innocent now."Her eyes welled with tears. "I trusted you. I haven't been with anyone in years, and you... you were the first man I let in.""Yeah? That's on you," I said, tightening my belt. "Now get dressed. Or would you rather I call my guards to escort you out?" Her expression crumbled. Shaking hands pulled her dress over her trembling frame as she moved to the door."I thought the rumors weren't true," she said, voice cracking. "But they are. You really are heartless." She ran out before I could reply. Not that I cared. I rolled my eyes and stood, strolling over to my wardrobe with a smug grin tugging at my lips. One down. One more to go. Humming to myself, I searched through rows of designer shirts when the door swung open behind me. Crap."Mum," I muttered under my breath, already dreading the incoming lecture. She stood at the doorway, arms folded, brows drawn in a scowl only a mother could master. "Daniel," she said, tone sharp. "What did you do this time? That poor girl ran past me in tears." I shrugged, casually flipping through hangers. "She got emotional. Nothing serious. "Don't insult my intelligence. Was it another one of your hookups? Please tell me it's not another 'use and discard' situation." I didn't answer. "Daniel, talk to me. You're just nineteen! When are you going to stop living like this?""I'm turning twenty in a few months," I mumbled, still not looking at her. "That doesn't make this any better! For God's sake, when are you going to start treating women with respect? When will you get a real girlfriend?"I scoffed. "Relationships are overrated, Mum. I'm not interested in all that drama. She raised her voice. "So what, you're just going to keep breaking hearts for fun?""Oh, come on. It's not like you know any of them personally.""That's not the point! This lifestyle of yours is shameful. I'm not saying don't have fun but pick one girl. Settle down. Act like you have a conscience." I turned to her, smirking. "Well, none of them have exactly caught my interest. "What about Mary?. she asked. "You've known her since childhood. She's beautiful, smart, and obviously likes you."I rolled my eyes. "We're friends, Mum. That's it. And that's all it'll ever be." She let out a sigh, her shoulders sagging. "You need to change, Daniel. Seriously." "Maybe I will," I said as I pulled out a crisp white shirt. "Just not today." She gave me one last long look, then shook her head and turned toward the door."I love you, Mum," I called after her as she walked out and closed the door. I chuckled to myself. I grabbed the bottle of champagne sitting on my desk, popped it open, and took a long swig. Let me guess you want to know who I am?Well, I'm Daniel Maddox. The one and only heir of the Maddox empire.
