In a castle buried deep within an uncharted forest,I stood before a grand mirror in a luxurious bedroom, staring at my reflection.I couldn't believe what I was seeing—or perhaps more accurately, what I was remembering.I wasn't sure anymore. But what I did know was this: I am Gilderoy Lockhart.
I thought to myself as I gazed into the mirror, then began pacing around the room, speaking aloud.
"Have I awakened memories from a past life?Or did someone merge another soul with mine somehow, giving me these foreign memories? And if someone did merge a soul into mine without me noticing... who could possibly do something that complex to a fifth-sequence mage like me?"
My steps quickened as my mind raced.
"And setting that aside... what is this strange world I've found myself in?Some bizarre alternate universe?Who's the lunatic that decided to merge the magical world of Harry Potter with eldritch creatures, outer gods, and all these other twisted horrors?"
"Wasn't Voldemort supposed to be the final boss? What the hell is all this?"
"And wasn't I just supposed to be a useless fraud?A memory thief and a charming liar? What's with all these battles and monster hunts flooding my mind now?"
I clutched my head, a throbbing headache rising with the storm of thoughts.
Suddenly, Maxidor, my house-elf, appeared beside me.
"Master Lockhart," he said with a bow,"I've sent the books you requested to Flourish and Blotts. Also, I've arranged the book signing event with the shopkeeper—just as you asked. It will be held tomorrow at ten in the morning."
"Thank you, Maxidor. You may go now. If I need anything, I'll call for you,"I said, eyes closed, lying back on the bed.
"As you wish, sir," Maxidor replied before vanishing.
I sighed, still reeling from the storm in my mind.
"The whole 'teaching at Hogwarts' and 'book signing' plan… I remember now.I'd set it all up to prepare as many anchor points in Britain as possible—before attempting to ascend to the fourth sequence."
"Ah well," I muttered, forcing a half-smile."I'll adapt… just like I always have."
And with that, I emptied my thoughts and surrendered myself to the world of dreams.
